@laurel Ebonykit spend most of her time inside of the nursery, as it had been snowing and raining heavily recently, and the small she-cat would be easily blown away in harsh weather conditions. It was the morning after a downpour, and the sky was clear, leaf-bare's pale light shining down on Iceclan's camp. There was an irresistible mist covering the area, and Ebonykit was drawn from her nest, padding out into the camp to admire the scene.
She hoped that the rest of Iceclan territory looked like this, not like plain, dull stone that hurt ones paws wherever they walked. Ebonykit knew there was a river somewhere in the territory, perhaps that would be pretty.
Ebonykit was disturbed from her thoughts as a larger body bumped into her, sending the kit stumbling back a bit. "Excuse you," The dark tabby mewed, her voice smooth.

Laurelpaw was slightly distracted as she made her way over to the nursery. She didn't know why she was going there, perhaps to talk to her adopted mother, Peachglow, or Maybe just to clean it out. After the other day, she really didn't want to be out in the territory, or thinking, and kits tended to have that viewpoint. Her eyes widened and her mouth parted slightly as she bumped into one she hadn't even noticed. "Oh... I'm sorry." she said, bot bothering to point out that in order for Ebonykit to have been run into, she wouldn't have been run into. As a kitten before she joined the clan that was what she was taught, but she constantly had to remind herself that these cats were raised differently. They wouldn't really care to learn how she made sure behave. She smiled down at the kit. "What's your name?"

"What's your name?" Ebonykit tilted her head to the side. Like Laurelpaw, Ebonykit had been born outside of the clan, but she had only a few memories of her former life, and she didn't think they were very important.
The dark tabby wasn't being rude or anti-social, in fact, the weather had caused her mood to be very pleasant. But Ebonykit enjoyed playing around with other cats, and she wanted to see what this cat's reaction would be to her reflection of the previously asked question.

Laurelpaw shook her head, her gaze inspecting the dark grey tabby before returning to a green set of eyes. "Beware as both are traps." she mouthed the last part of her fathers all to commonly spoken phrase, not audible at all. A small smile came across her face. She was trying to be a bit more trusting, by she never gave her name before the cat she was speaking to did. She thought of another question to ask the kit, one she could respond to a repitition of. "What sort of games do you like?"

Ebonykit frowned, having wanted to learn this cat's name. However, she was acting very interesting now, and the dark she-cat was far from disappointed. The apprentice's response sounded like a kind of warning, though Ebonykit didn't know what for. How peculiar.
"I don't play games." Ebonykit responded. She genuinely wasn't much for playing around, instead Ebonykit patiently awaited her apprentice ceremony.

Laurelpaw nodded. "I can side with you on that." she said, liking the kitten just a little bit better, although she had come to the nursery with the intention of doing something to clear her mind. "What do you like to do then?" she asked, her head tilted to the side, though she had already predicted the dark cat probably just did what she did as a kit, which was sit around and talk to cats who approached her.

Ebonykit shrugged. "I like to watch other cats." She didn't mind if her words came across as creepy, because Ebonykit was perfectly fine with her habits. It wasn't as if she had much else to do until she became an apprentice.
"What's your name?" Ebonykit prompted again. She had answered two questions, now it was this apprentice's turn.

Laurelpaw nodded. She had been right. This kit was just like she had been but a little more trusting. Recognizing that the other cat had indeed answered the questions truthfully, as Laurelpaw had deemed from body langueage and posture as well as her eyes, which were very similar to Laurelpaws, she chose to respond to the other cats question. At least halfway. "You can call me Lory." she responded. Since one cat had called her just Laurel, she had made a point to always be more specific about nicknames. She didn't like memories, and though they were few, they haunted her. "What's your name?"

Ebonykit understood the value of being mysterious and keeping things to oneself, but she had only experienced doing to, not having it done to her. It was an enjoyable conversation, and certainly stimulated her mind more than others.
"Nice to meet you, Lory." Ebonykit decided to simply ignore the she-cat's question, staring up at her with an even expression.

Laurelpaw nodded. "Nice to meet you too." she responded, even though she didn't know the other cats name. "You're gonna be an apprentice soon, right?" she asked with a small smile. (Sorry short)

"I would hope so." Ebonykit responded. She was old enough to be an apprentice, but there could always be unforeseen consequences that would prevent her from getting her ceremony.

Laurelpaw nodded, understanding the kits unassurance. It was really not the best question those days when you really had just clue when you would get your ceremonies. Way back when you would get a ceremony the day you turned six moons, but the importance of that had faded in light of other issues. Not that Laurelpaw could remember such a time well. It would have had to be before she was taken from the clan by her father. This was the only reason that Laurelpaw had joined Iceclan. She was at an age in between knowing why one had to trust blood and love least of all. Her eyes narrowed slightly for a moment before she decided to give the advice that she had learned, "Only trust your enemies, it won't hurt so much when they decieve you." Sure she hadn't stuck to such logic in a long time, but she still felt it was a useful idea, just as many others she had once lived by.

Ebonykit blinked, taking a moment to think about what Laurelpaw said. It seemed as if the she-cat had a poor attention span, as this was the second time she went off on a tangent about a seemingly random thing. Ebonykit decided not to think about the meaning of the words, and instead focus on why Laurelpaw would be saying them.
She shrugged passively, the tip of her tail twitching. "That's nice," The tabby she-kit commented, looking at the apprentice with narrowed eyes. "Where did you hear that?"

The small smile that had been on Laurelpaws face faded at the kits question. In truth she's had heard it from her father, but she wasn't going to say that. To anyone, even those she was closest to. She tended and shook her head instead of giving and actual answer, she shrugged, trying to relax. "Here or there."
