mudpaw growled quietly with irritation, his jaws full of moss with some extra being held between his chest and chin. he hated this more than anything. what was he? some sort of maid or slave? he didn't want to be cleaning some nursery! he didn't deserve this! however... he did know that it was necessary if he was to ever become a warrior, so he may as well do it now, rather than later.
the apprentice let out a loud hiss as he dropped all of the moss in a large pile at the entrance of the den, walking further into it and towards a dirty nest. he violently began to remove the dirty moss, tossing it away in a random direction and replacing it with cleaner moss. he grumbled as he continued to do so to more nests.

Swanpaw had been walking by the nursery when a wad of dirty moss was thrown at her face. She squealed in surprise, wrinkling her nose in disgust. She frantically shook, stumbling around as she wiped frantically at her muzzle, almost falling over. She let out a sharp hiss of annoyance, marching towards the culprit. "Hey! Watch where you're throwing moss you mouse brained mongrel!" She spat, her thin hairs rising.

mudpaw's eyes widened, his pupils turning into small slits. he was already irritated enough from cleaning a den being something he had to do just to become a warrior, he didn't need some other cat being so rude to him. "watch who you're talking to!" he growled loudly, fur spiking up. he knew it wasn't normal to get angry so quickly, but he couldn't help it.
"you better watch your mouth before it gets you into trouble," he stated, continuing to clean with frustration.

Swanpaw sneered, a low growl in her throat. "Oh, I'm sorry!" She bowed fakely, ears flat against her head. "I forgot I was talking to the leader! My apologies, oh great one." She mocked him, teeth bared in annoyance. Who did he think he was?
"I could say the same for you." She snapped, digging her claws into the ground.

mudpaw lashed his tail, clenching his jaws at this other cat's reply as he continued cleaning, just wanting to get this over and done with. "just get away from me so i can get this cleaning done," he said, a demanding tone in his voice as he approached another nest, roughly changing the moss.
"and don't snap at me- i can see those claws and if you put them anywhere near me, i swear to cloudclan."

Now Swanpaw couldn't leave. He had told her to, and if she did it would prove that she was willing to take orders from him. She wasn't. "Make me." She challenged, eyes narrowing into dark slits. She was a good fighter, and despite not wanting to with her clanmate, if he struck first she would fight back. She kinda hoped he did.
Swanpaw rolled her eyes, keeping them unsheathed. She smirked lightly, easily calming herself down. "What a rude kitty you are. I don't suppose you have a name?" He probably wouldn't tell her. Neither would she.

mudpaw let out a frustrated noise, tensing up even more as he went to grab some more moss, almost finished with his cleaning by now. not many of the nests were dirty. he lashed his tail harshly, glaring at the thin-furred cat with bright, piercing green eyes.
"of course i have a name, who doesn't?" he grumbled at the white apprentice's now calmer tone. "you can call me mudpaw," he hissed, flicking an ear, "now introduce yourself."

"So demanding." Swanpaw tsked, shaking her head slowly. "Mudpaw suits you I suppose." She circled him a moment, looking him up and down with a wrinkled muzzle in disparate. "I guess you just always look-" she pause, searching for the right word. "Dirty." Swanpaw sat down, grooming her paw nonchalantly. "I'm Swanpaw."

-i was gonna make him take 'dirty' in the wrong way but...-
mudpaw let out a quiet grumble, "is that not allowed now...?" he lashed his tail.
he flicked an ear, "is that so?" he asked, slanting his eyes at swanpaw's distaste (i presume that's what you meant) "you got a problem with that?" he asked, stepping towards the other cat, having soon forgotten what they were actually in the nursery for in the first place. "lovely, i don't care anymore, feathers," he said, beginning to turn around, "this isn't happening now. bye bye." he mused, taking one very slow step away, waiting for a reaction.

"Nope, no problems here." She blinked innocently, tail swaying behind her in a less than friendly manner. She tilted her head at 'feathers', assuming he was talking about her. She didn't comment on it. "Aww, going so soon? I thought we could become friends." She pouted sarcastically. Maybe she didn't want him to leave. She liked talking to the equally rude tom.

mudpaw sighed with irritation, muttering under his breath as he lashed his tail, "well you thought wrong," he said, walking yet another step, "if you wanted to be friends you wouldn't have been so disrespectful." muddy stated.
-muse where are you-

(I know how you feel)
Swanpaw blinked, watching him take another step back. "Maybe you should have watched where you threw all that dirty moss then." She snorted, staying firmly where she was. She would keep talking until he left.

"it's just moss," muddy responded, turning around, "now why are you still talking to me, surely you have better things to do," he paused. "i mean, personally, i just want to leave."

Swanpaw didn't say anything at first, shrugging. "Not really." She admitted, her tail flicking nonchalantly. "If you want to leave so bad, then why haven't you?" She raised an annoyed brow.

mudpaw grunted with irritation and walked away, head held up high and not looking back as he left and went back to his nest.
