Flintpaw woke up from a deep sleep. He groaned in discomfort and tried to roll over and continue sleeping, but it wasn't working. His body was restless. The apprentice picked his head up and peered over at his sleeping sister, Sparrowpaw, less than a tail length away. He extended one of his legs and poked her with one of his massive paws. "Sparrowpaw, wake up." |

Sparrowpaw was fast asleep, her tail curled around her face as she slept peacefully. She made no sound except for the sound of her breathing. The tabby groaned when she was poked by the massive paw of her brother, Flintpaw. Sparrowpaw opened one eye sleepily. "It's too early." She complained.

Flintpaw smiled when she woke up. He rose to his paws and shook his pelt. "Exactly! No one else is awake." The apprentice nudged her again. "C'mon, I want to talk to you about something." He brushed past her and exited their den, then sat neatly outside and stared up at the sky.
