ArrowstarCrystalbird was ever so slightly annoyed by the fact that all of Treeclan climbed trees. It made it a bit hard to find places that would discourage cats from following her, since sometimes she wanted to be alone. She found the best she could do, was climb onto the branches that honestly looked like they could maybe hold under a cat's weight. Emphasis on maybe. Which was where she was. Curled up on one of those branches that was slightly swaying in the breeze, thinking about things. She was trying to be unnoticed. Before, she'd accidentally attracted the attention of Dogfang in a rather... Unpleasant manner. Basically, she'd been absentmindedly throwing acorns and a few had hit him in a head, leading to the massive tom angrily scaling the tree to snark at her, face to face. More recently, she'd somehow been noticed by Yellowburr, the creeper who was pretty much the main source of Treeclan's problems at the moment. Yes, Leaf-bare was a thing... But it came every year. Yellowburr? He was annoyingly unique. She sighed. Then she heard the quiet creaks and noises of movement that told her that some cat had climbed up to her. Well, not quite up to her, but they were a lot closer than she'd like. She shifted her gaze to see someone, before looking away again."Did you need something?" She asked in a less than friendly tone of voice. It practically screamed that she wanted to be alone, despite her never raising her voice.

Arrowstar was just walking in the territory and thinking. He had been thinking so much recently that it was putting an unnecessarily high amount of stress on him. But, that's what wars were supposed to do, right? He sighed and shook his head as he walked. That idiot, the evil fox Yellowburr... They should have listened to me and thrown him out the second I found out what he did...
Arrowstar looked up and spotted his deputy on an unstable-looking branch, perhaps escaping from the chaos in camp or maybe just wanting to be alone. He glanced at the tree trunk before jumping on it and making his climb up to a branch near her. He sat on a limb a few branches below her, laying against it.
"You're prickly today," he commented. "Escaping chaos?"

Crystalbird huffed. "Commentary not appreciated." She grumbled. She shifted her paws into a cross position, so she could rest on her head comfortably. She didn't say anything for a while, and the silence stretched out between them. "... I can deal with chaos. It's this mess that I don't want to deal with." She groaned, placing a paw on her head, as if she were having a headache. "Overall decent cats making idiots of themselves because some creep comes along with pretty words." She snorted.

Arrowstar just gave a grunt in agreement. But, he was their leader, and he was going to have to make this mess stop and clean it up. But he had to laugh when she called Yellowburr a creep. "Creep he may be, but he knows how to win over others. He'll twist anything to make himself seem right or innocent." He sighed. "I feel like an idiot for having that meeting, but the clan deserves to know what will happen. I just want TreeClan to be safe, and it's not anymore with this uprising." The leader shook his head to himself. "Blood will be spilled. It's inevitable with Yellowburr."

Crystalbird sighed. "He's a manipulator." She agreed. "Who knows if he really believes in the crap he spewed, but the point is that it created a divide." She shrugged in response. "... Don't. Don't feel like an idiot for having the meeting. Yellowburr is the type of cat that would've stirred up trouble of this nature whether that meeting happened or not." She finally lifted her head and looked at Arrowstar in the eyes. "I don't know much about him, but I can tell that much."
She bit her lip. "... Not sure what his game is, where he's going with stirring up this... Discord, but if you're right... We're going to have to work hard to stop anyone from dying." She shook her head. "Those arguments during the meeting were filled with passion. I honestly don't think they need much nudging to jump to using claws on their own clanmates, when they can't force an opinion change through words."

"As much as I hate to admit it, he's very smart." Arrowstar paused before speaking. "He and I were great friends when we were kits, when I was in TreeClan. I don't know where he thought I went when Ravenflame took my sister and I to FireClan. But something must have happened in that span of time to make him despise outsiders. And it didn't help when I became deputy or leader." He felt like she should know.
"Crystalbird, if blood starts to spill, we're going to have to relocate anyone not allied with him. It'll be too dangerous to keep kits or elders with outsider-blood in the camp, as well as apprentices and warriors," the tom pointed out to her, his ear twitching. "You're right..."

Crystalbird shrugged. "Not underestimating the enemy. That's good." She commented. Then she listened as Arrowstar shared a piece of his past. Apparently, Yellowburr had been reasonable once upon a time, but then turned into a massive pile of fox-dung somewhere down the line. A section of the line that was a total blank for the amber eyed leader. She tilted her head. "... So, does he hate you now? Or does some fragment of your friendship remain?" She pressed. It was... Bordering on unethical possibly, but she wanted to know if there was something they could use to mess with Yellowburr's head.
She sighed. "... Is dividing the clan in body, as they're already divided in spirit, really the best course of action? Honestly, if anything... It will alienate the cats who you believe may become a threat. It speaks of a lack of trust in them." She shook her head gently. "Unless you plan on cutting Yellowburr's followers out of the clan at some point...?"

Crystalbird asked Arrowstar if they were still friends, and he had to pause. "Honestly, I don't know. Maybe there's something in him that still considers me a friend, but I highly doubt it."
He shrugged. "I don't know. I really don't. But if we take those loyal to me and move them to a new space, we could be safer and worry less. Those who wish to stay with Yellowburr could stay, and then we can figure out a way to solve this problem..." The leader glanced back at Crystalbird. "Perhaps. This is practically treason."

Crystalbird masked any disappointment she might've felt at hearing Arrowstar's honest opinion. She thought it might be something like that. She sighed.
"... Do you really believe that even your loyalists will take kindly to being forced out of camp? As far as they're concerned... They are defending their right to be in Treeclan." She sighed again. "Even though the arguments heavily leaned towards potential intake of cats who come from outside the clan. There was a lot of defending the outsider-born cats who are already here by the loyalists... Though, I will admit... I didn't hear much of the rebellious sort start attacking the cats who already live in the clan." She pointed out. She shook her head gently. "... Remember, we need to listen to the rebels as well, what they have to say. Even if they're being ridiculous, we need to show them we're not shoving them away. Otherwise, this whole thing will escalate into a conflict where given Treeclan's territory... Putting distance between the sides of the conflict may not make a big enough difference."

Arrowstar shrugged. "I'm willing to move if it means safety for our clanmates. We'll hold off for now, but if it gets worse, we will move." He paused, looking off in the distance before speaking again. "We need a spy. Someone who can come off as a rebel but will give us any information needed in order to stop attacks or an even bigger uprising." The gray-brown tom looked at his deputy for her opinion. "That way we could stop this even faster."

Crystalbird sighed. "... If you say so." She didn't sound convinced it was the best course of action, but she didn't sound like she wanted to argue anymore. Then she blinked. She frowned. "It'll need to be someone who was born into Treeclan, likely. A good actor, someone who isn't obviously a loyalist. They also need to a certain degree of detachment, considering the fact that we're asking them to spy on their clanmates." She gave Arrowstar an odd look. "Do you have someone in mind...?"

Arrowstar nodded to her response. "I don't know. We have to keep an eye out on someone who could spy for us. I feel like this may be one of the only ways to win this thing..." The tom stood up, making a descent down the tree. "Come, let's check our borders while discussing."

Crystalbird didn't seem to respond with more than a nod and a flattening in the ears. As Arrowstar descended down the tree, she finally rose to her paws. "I wasn't aware this was a competition..." She muttered to herself, out of Arrowstar's earshot. Nevertheless, she followed after him, hitting the ground not long after he did. "Alright, then. Let's go." She said as she suddenly took the lead to the nearest border.
