May shrugged. "Expect the unexpected and the unexpected. It also helps if you're watching for the unexpected." she responded, allowing herself to relax slightly, though she didn't want to relax completely. No other cat would. Then again, she was no other cat. She took a moment to ponder this before returninf her attention to Crowkit, deciding not to relax completely.

"My, you sound paranoid." Crowkit noted. He tilted his head to the side. Hm... His more forceful experiments would have to wait until she wasn't paying attention to him. Or asleep. It really didn't matter to him. "... I'm still bored." He yawned. Suddenly his voice dropped into a growl and he barked meaninglessly at May to see if she would react.

"I suppose I do." she said, then she was slightly stunned by Crowkits outburst, but she composed herself quickly. It almost reminded her of her dad, the few memories of the cat she had, and those memories were all bad ones. It was where most of what she knew came from though. She learned to read faces to avoid shocking outbursts, and she knew what she knew about acctual life from his words. "So were you born in the clan?" she asked rather randomly.

Crowkit was intrigued by the brief flicker... Of something. He couldn't tell exactly what, since he wasn't too adept at reading cats too well. He wondered if he could elicit the same reaction again. Obviously not by pulling the same trick twice. At least... Not right now. She'd be expecting it. "Yes." He replied simply. "I'm assuming you aren't, judging by how you asked that question."

"Nope." she responded with a small smile. "I only have a few memories from before Autumndust adopted me though." She considered adding that she got her nicknamed from those few memories but it didn't seem relevant at the moment. Nicknames and family lineage were two very different things.

"Hm... Memories including being called May or Rose?" Crowkit continued to press.

May nodded slightly. "How did you guess?" she asked, though she wasn't surprised at all. Her tone wasn't sarcastic either. She just said it because she had felt like it.

Crowkit tilted his head. "It's obvious." He said bluntly. "If you're too stupid to realize how I came to that conclusion, then there's no point in telling you." He could've been nicer, but he wanted to see how she'd respond to a less kind choice of words.

May shrugged, connecting the fact that having may as a nickname was odd for clan cats, so it must have been created by a cat outside the clan, and that she clung to them with as one clings to old memories. That was one way, but she knew there were also many others. She hadn't really noticed Crowkits bluntness though, as she had seen through the kind overlook to begin with.

Crowkit was sorely disappointed by the lack of reaction. He huffed. "Of course, you have to be interesting and boring at the same time." He complained. He really was getting annoyed with May's lack of reaction for... Anything really. He stood up and just walked away, finding her boring now. He'd probably come back later when her guard was down again.

May giggled slightly at the other cat's reaction to what she had been trained and raised to do. In her nature she didn't react a lot, and she got the feeling Crowkit wanted a reaction. She also figured he was going to come back and attack her in some way to, as he had proven to do both times she left her guard down. She did relax soon though, her attention turning back to the thoughts about how stupid games were. She kept her ears open for noises behind and around her though.
