stoat thief!
defend your territory from the new threat
Winter had been hard on her. Harder than most. She had two youngster to keep fed as well as herself, which meant more hunting trips; most of them being failures. Her ribs peeked through her snowy pelt, but still the stoat remained wily and determined. She was nearly the size of a half-mature cat, but thinner and faster. She had seen the feline group living in her territory for many seasons, but had never seen reason to interact. Now though, she was hungry. The group of cats kept their food right there, in a pile in the middle of camp. It was like they were just begging to be stolen from. The white stoat clicked her claws in excitement as she skirted the outskirts of camp. It was dawn, a time she had learned was quieter as most of the cats were sleeping. Taking her chance the stoat whipped forward towards the fresh kill pile. TAG: Open to TWO. Try and stop the stoat from stealing your prey

Laurelpaw awoke with a start, her eyes dashingly around her as she still thought she was in the dream. Then she spotted movement by the freashkill pile, and it took her a moment to relize that it was not acctually a fox, but rather a white stoat. And it was stealing prey? She was automatically at attention and she circled around to block the thiefs exit. She didn't want to wake anyone else if not nessisary though, so she didn't shout for help.

The stoat swiftly mounted the pile, noting confidently how easily everything was going for her. With success in her mind she stole a vole and began worming her way back down. The white creature's nose twitched as she detected a tangy odor. Her sharp eyes landed on a small brown cat and she recoiled, backing away slightly. She analyzed the situation, it was too late to lose her prize now, and it was only one cat. The ermine shot forward, as fast as any cat. She made to worm her way around Laurelpaw and out the exit. Laurelpaw watched the stoat carefully, moving to block it's path quickly as she saw it's muscles tense. She also slashed forward with her paw. She knew it was as fast as her and would escape with the prey if she just tried to block.

RiverShade caught wind of a strange and repulsive scent. She moved to investigate as she spotted a white en-longed rat type rodent running about the camp. She narrowed her optics seeing clearly where it was headed she charged and stood defensively in front of the exit. She stayed low enabling her self to make a quick and explosive move seeing the little critter was no stranger to speed. Baring her teeth and bristling she played the dominance card. She hissed for Laurel to sneak up from behind. Hopefully that type of tacit as she suspected would make the Prey Thief frantic and easier to dispatch.
