Bumblepaw May had been focused on perfecting her lip reading. It was about Sunhigh when she felt content that it was a small perfect as the skill could get, and she's allowed herself to grab a mouse, walking over to another cat and placing it infront of them. "Wanna share?"

I was in a mood for socialization -- although I enjoyed talking to others, this was rather rare for me. It was hard to keep myself from bursting with anger towards others, but when I was in a talkative mood, I found myself to be (somewhat) more laid back. Thankfully, the she-kit who approached me hadn't interrupted anything other than batting at a small beetle in boredom. I blinked up at her and shrugged. "Sure."
(bumble is the new medicine cat apprentice so his name changed, but i'll continue rping in this thread as a kit)

(Ok, and congrats) Maplekit smiled and sat down, allowing the other cat to take the first bite as she had been the one offering to share. "I'm May." she introduced with a smile. It was a rather odd nickname, but it was what everyone had always called her. That or Rose. "What's your name?"

(thanks!)
Sharing prey had always seemed a bit odd in my opinion; a little too intimate. But it was something almost everyone in the Clan practiced. So, I leaned down and sliced past the mouse's fur so that I could take a bite. May -- that was odd. "What, were you an outsider?" I said rather bluntly, frowning in confusion. It was odd that kittens her age were introduced to the Clan, but perhaps that was the case. "Bumblekit," I replied.

"Nope." May shook her head then thought back. "Well some point, yes, but Autumndust adopted me. My full name is Maplekit." she said. The striped kitten really didn't remember much about her life outside the clans, but she knew she had had one. "Nice to meet you Bumblekit."

I remained silent as she continued on to explain. So she had been an outsider -- I assumed many of the TreeClanners wouldn't be fond of her, then, with all the taboo about outsiders. I understood it, but if they had been born outside the Clans and taken in as kittens... it didn't make any sense to discriminate against them. I didn't stand with Yellowburr, although (apparently) he had made some rather strong, persuasive points at the Clan meeting. Perhaps I would have been swayed if I had attended, but I had nothing personal against outsiders at the moment.
May as a nickname for Maple seemed a bit odd to me, but I bit back any comments, and just nodded instead. "So, where are you from then?" I asked, then nodded again. "You too."

May watched Bumble's face carefully. It was... sympathetic? Sure it wasn't obviously so, but that was what she was good at. Reading emotions. Even if they were hidden as well as they could be she could figure it out. Then, after a moment, the other kit started wondering about something that puzzled Bumblekit. She smiled knowingly. "The nickname came from my father, and its a lot more familiar to Rose which is what my mom called me." she answered what she thought to be the unasked question. "I'm not sure where I'm from. I only have a few memories from it."

I watched as she studied me, a little uncomfortable under her prying gaze. I looked away, not accustomed to someone observing me so carefully. I didn't.. like it. I waited until she continued talking to turn my head back towards her, but even then I avoided her gaze by leaning down to take a small bite from the mouse. "Two names." I said, moreso to myself than the kitten before me. It was a bit odd that her parents had called her two different things -- wouldn't that get confusing? -- but it didn't really matter in the long run. I frowned, wondering if she was just withholding the information from me, though, after a moment's speculation, I decided she was probably telling the truth.
"So, then, what's your opinion on Yellowburr?" I asked, raising my eyes. I believed I would already know the answer, but it was a popular topic to discuss and I was curious.

May shrugged. "Yellowburr speaks what he believes. And he truly does believe it. So do most of his followers. I believe he should be free to say what he had to say as he does have a point. If he didn't, no one else would follow him, and he has plenty of followers. I just fear the way he exicutes whatever it is he does will be the wrong way." she responded. It was her opinion on the other cat, and it had been built firmly in her mind. [/b]

I listened to Maplekit curiously, my head cocked to the side. She made an interesting point. I couldn't quite tell if she was for him or not, as she didn't really explain that part of her beliefs, but she did support the way he stood up for himself. I nodded thoughtfully. "He does seem rather violent, from what I've heard," I responded, thoughts flowing through my mind like water. Obviously I couldn't really.. stand with him, as I had no TreeClan blood whatsoever. I would be made to leave the Clan if he decided to purge outsiders from TreeClan, but from what I heard, he had quite a way with words. I liked what I heard about him -- everything but what he stood for.

May nodded. "He would truly be a great addition to the clan if he bothered following Arrowstar." she mused before she shook her head. Just tended not to like to dwell on deep subjects, so she changed it to something most kits would enjoy much more. "You wanna play a game or something?"

I nodded in agreement. He could be a great addition to the Clan even if he didn't follow Arrowstar -- having cats that were open about their opinions and that stood up for them were important, and he most definitely was one of those type. In my opinion, it was moreso this certain topic that I disliked and his attack on outsiders. I didn't voice my opinions, however, as the kitten had continued onto the next topic.
Grunting, I shrugged. "Depends on what you want to play," I responded. I was never a huge fan of most kit games, but perhaps she'd suggest something I'd be interested in?

May hesitated and shrugged at the words. She really didn't know her way around games and couldn't name half of the ones each kit probably played daily. "I don't know. What games do you like to play?" she asked, choosing to deflect the question rather than admit she didn't know anything.

I thought for a moment, then shrugged. "I don't know either," I responded, blinking. "I don't really.. play games," I added with a nonchalant shrug. I opened my mouth to tell her why -- that most kittens didn't enjoy my company -- but closed it a moment later.
