Liongrowl knew that he was the only current medicine cat and he thought it was time to take on an apprentice, especially if something bad happened to him. Who else would be able to take care of the clan? He had begun his search and found a particular cat... "Cats of TreeClan, as you know, I won't be around forever, so it's time I take on an apprentice. I have chosen a cat who has shown likeliness of a great foreseeable future as a medicine cat. Your next med cat will be Bumblepaw ."The tom then looked over at the leader, Arrowstar for his statement.

Arrowstar had been unavailable, so he'd asked Crystalbird to fill in for him. She was a bit annoyed, not that she wasn't willing to do this but... It had been supposed to be Arrowstar's job, but he couldn't find the time to do it. Hmph. Still... She could do it.
"Bumblepaw, do you accept the role of becoming Treeclan's next medicine cat, after Liongrowl's time has passed?"

I had already been given an apprentice ceremony -- something I'd been uncontrollably happy about. I wanted to be a warrior, I wanted to fight for my Clan, and I wanted to learn from another, seasoned warrior. So, when Crystalbird and Liongrowl, the medicine cat, announced a gathering, I was slightly confused. At first glance, I thought it must've been another group of ceremonies -- but the medicine cat was present. That made no sense. I listened curiously to the announcement. Ah, he's appointing a new Medicine Ca- My thoughts were cut as I heard my name. "Bumblepaw." My eyes widened, ears pricked, and I felt frozen for a moment. No, no, no, nonono.
Perhaps one day in the future, I would realize what a great honor it was. But I was young, with my heart set on being a strong, noble warrior who would fight valiantly for their Clan. And as a medicine cat, I couldn't do either of those things. At first I denied it. They must've made a mistake. I wasn't even a very likable cat; I was explosive and easily angered, something I doubted Liongrowl wanted around his patients. Almost as if on cue, I felt my body heat up with anger. They took away my future! But I couldn't yell, or argue this, in front of the entire Clan. That was unmeasurably disrespectful. So, after a moment, I hesitantly stood. "I do," I murmured, padding slowly to touch noses with Liongrowl, my new.. mentor.

"I guess the rest of us just aren't important enough to get our ceremony." Squirrelkit spat bitterly, watching the process with narrowed eyes. Of course two rogues were unable to lead a clan properly, she didn't know what she expected. The clan leader couldn't even be bothered to do his duties, and his was only giving ceremonies to special cats.
Squirrelkit stood up, her tail lashing. "I'm old enough to be an apprentice, and so is Crowkit! And what about Needlepaw? He's ready to be a warrior! Are you withholding his ceremony because he spoke out against you at the meeting?" Squirrelkit looked at Crystalbird, her eyes burning with anger. "It's not fair, I'm tired of waiting!"
((hope it's okay for me to post here, i'll delete if it's not!))

Liongrowl watched as his apprentice came up to him and touched noses with him. He didn't know why but it seemed like Bumblepaw wasn't too happy with the new arrangement. He thought the tom would be happy with the new arrangement given a status boost. Sure he won't be on the front lines as a warrior but at the same time he could still be out front, ready to heal cats in need. Unfortunately, this didn't seem like an easy thing to say to him. Did it take away his future? Did Bumblepaw really not want this? He forced words. "Now a time half moon you will need to travel to the shimmering rocks to be accepted by other medicine cats. (We will role play as if this has already happened in other threads per our conversation). You are now able to move into the medicine den."
His attention was snapped back to a kit. "You will get your ceremonies in time. Patience is a virtue." He looked over at his apprentice again and Crystalbird.

Crystalbird's attention shifted to some bratty kitten who thought herself important. She narrowed her eyes slightly, waiting for the kid to finish. Some kids acted real entitled, it made her want to throw up. If all kits acted this arrogant, she's glad she's not a mother! She almost feels bad for the queens, if not for the fact that they asked for the little hellions.
Then Liongrowl stepped forward to talk to the kitten. She didn't think to a kit like this, his words would suffice. "Listen, kid. Your ceremony will happen when it happens. I promise it'll come and we're not that petty. Stop making assumptions. Now, are you done? Better be, because there's nothing left to say. You've said your part, I've said mine." She looked to Liongrowl, a flash of uncertainty in her eyes.
She wasn't sure if she was supposed to stick around at this point.
