Weaselkit Rainpaw padded through camp with her tail high. She had just been named an apprentice, and while Rainpaw knew that she now had to work much harder, she also felt that she had accomplished something by making it to this stage in her life. She'd had a couple negative interactions in her kithood, but now she could put those aside and look forward.
Speaking of negative interaction, Rainpaw spotted Weaselkit, who seemed to be alone and not busy. She padded up to the tom-kit, her blue eyes gleaming. "Hello there," Rainpaw mewed in a friendly tone, her whiskers twitching. "Weaselkit, right? I don't know if you saw the ceremony, but I'm Rainpaw now." The tuxedo she-cat spoke humbly, free of any ill-will from when they'd first met. "So, what's going on with you?"

Weaselkit cocked his head as Rainpaw approached, noting the arrival but not making any move to speed it up. When the bicolour she-cat had finally reached him he nodded his greeting. This time around he so far had to reason to antagonize her, since Weaselkit was flighty and switched from emotion to emotion with ease. He'd already long moved on from their brief argument days ago.
"I saw it," he told her with a nod. "I was watching my grandmother." It always made him a touch jealous to see her performing her duties, and ambitious for what he too could become someday. "Congratulations, by the way." His tail flicked and Weaselkit tried to think of a reply that wouldn't sound bitter. "Nothing much. Kit life is rather boring. Though, I hear we're moving soon, so that's exciting."

"Oh, that's cool. Who's your grandmother?" Rainpaw herself had been born to Foxtwist, but she didn't know if sh had any living relatives, other than her litter-mates, which she wasn't that close with anyways. Rainpaw wasn't close to anyone, really... But that was fine, she just needed to prove herself by serving her clan.
She nodded, still freshly remembering how boring it was to be a kit. "Oh, uh.. It'll definitely be exiting." Rainpaw would've used the word 'dangeous' or 'terrifying' instead. It seemed that everyone she knew was looking forward to the journey, but it just stressed her out.

Weaselkit crinkled his nose with a small frown. Honestly he shouldn't have expected everyone to know his relation to his grandmother, but it still felt strange. "Redfern, the deputy." His father had also been Snailtail, the warrior who had recently died alongside Raggedwolf, but Weaselkit didn't want to go spreading around that much information.
"You'd rather stay here?" The tom asked, not judgemental, but curious. She certainly didn't sound excited, but that was understandable. Even though there was a big journey ahead of them, Weaselkit didn't see the benefit in being fearful. "I'm just excited to see our new home."

"Oh." So this was on of Snailtail's kits. No wonder Weaselkit had been so moody the first time they'd met, he was dealing with the loss of his father. Rainpaw was glad that she hadn't taken his rudeness as a personal attack, that would've just been selfish of her.
She thought about Weaselkit's words with a frown. "I wish it was safe here, then we could stay. I don't want anyone to be hurt by the falling rocks or on the journey." Rainpaw explained.

Weaselkit appreciated that Rainpaw wasn't digging much further into his personal life. Either she knew and was kindly not bringing it up, or she didn't and he was just as grateful for that.
"I'm sure once we get out of our territory we wont have to fear falling rocks," he replied with a small shrug. After all, the danger was mainly around the destruction of their camp. Surely not everywhere was going to be deadly. "What do you imagine our new home will be like? I heard it's near somewhere called the 'ocean'."

"I haven't heard that before." Rainpaw tilted her head to the side. She wished that she had gone with Cloverstar to see the new territory, but Rainpaw hadn't even been born when the TreeClan leader left on her journey. "Do you know what an ocean is?" Rainpaw knew she'd heard that word before, perhaps it was the IceClan leader's name.
