Crystalbird had become aware that some ceremonies were due. Given Arrowstar's lack of... Availability... She decided she could do them herself, since it was part of a deputy's job to help lighten the load off of the leader.
"By naming this apprentice, we show that Treeclan will survive and remain strong. Squirrelbite , from now on you will be known as Squirrelpaw.... Beechroot , you are ready for an apprentice. You will be Squirrelpaw's mentor.
Needleclaw , you spirited and strong. It is time for you to become a warrior. I name you Needleclaw. Do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life? ( Wait for response of "I do". ) Then I commend you to CloudClan, to become a warrior.
By naming this apprentice, we show that Treeclan will survive and remain strong. @maybelle , from now on you will be known as Maplepaw.... Needleclaw, you are ready for an apprentice. You will be Maplepaw's mentor."

May narrowed her eyes as she spotted her new mentor, waiting for him to speak almost instantly so that she could tell what type of cat he was. She wasn't ready to become an apprentice yet. She had a very strict schedule for her life and she still had to make sure she had lip reading down before she could move on to acctual warrior training. Perhaps she could compact the rest into one day.

Needleclaw sat proudly, head held high as he received his warrior name. Arrowstar couldn't even bother to show up, eh?, he thought bitterly, but beggars couldn't be choosers he guessed. He had begun to get impatient, waiting for his warrior ceremony. He would've preferred someone he actually respected to give it to him, Yellowburr maybe, but he'd have to make do with this.
Needleclaw looked to the side, spotting the newly-named Squirrelpaw. He would've liked to have her as an apprentice, especially since he remembered Beechroot as being one of those rouge-lovers. Ugh. Still, even if it hadn't been Squirrelpaw, he had been given an apprentice. Once Crystalbird was finished speaking he got to his paws and pad over to her. "Hey," the dark tabby wasn't too sure how this was supposed to go down. He had wanted an apprentice, sure, but he had been pretty positive that they wouldn't assign him once because of how he'd spoken out at the gathering. "we'll start training tomorrow. Sun-high, camp entrance, don't be late."

Squirrelpaw's eyes glinted with pride, and she just barely smirked at Crystalbird as her name was called. It seemed that the red she-cat had been correct in speaking up at Bumblepaw's ceremony, as now it was being paid off. Hah. Rogues were such pushovers, it seemed, and Squirrelpaw didn't understand why Yellowburr had not yet overthrown them.
She looked at Beechroot, her mentor, doubtfully. He was one of the loyalists, she remembered from the meeting, and Squirrelpaw didn't want to be trained by a weak cat.
Putting on a friendly face, she padded up to her mentor. "Hi, I'm Squirrelpaw!" She mewed. "Can we start our training, please?"

Beechroot was shocked that he was picked as a mentor. Especially at a time like this. He turned to see Squirrelpaw coming toward him. The warrior remembered her now. She was one of the cats who raved about being clan-born and how the rogue should all leave. Beechroot felt his lip curl at the thought of the apprentice having respect and authority issues.
"I know who you are." The tom leaned over and pressed his nose to her forehead, a traditional practice for apprentice ceremonies. "Of course, we'll start tomorrow at dawn." Beechroot narrowed his eyes. "And I expect you to be on time."
He turned to Needleclaw and scowled. Of course a warrior like Needleclaw wouldn't follow the warrior code and be silent for his own vigil. The warrior snorted.

May nodded slowly, her gaze traveling over the other cat in full. "You'll be a fine mentor, so don't worry. And I'll try to be just as good an apprentice," she comforted though she didn't know if it was her place or not. Not that she really cared. To her such things were natural when she saw the look that had just crossed Needleclaw's face.

it had been a while, quite a while, since he had last seen a ceremony. there was something sentimental about it, a reassurance that, yes, treeclan was moving on, and he should to. "squirrelpaw! needleclaw! maplepaw!" he cheered. he couldn't remember when he had last smiled so much.
he was concerned, however, by arrowstar's absence. he's probably taking care of those rogues, he told himself firmly. he moved towards squirrelpaw, smile still on his face. "congratulations!" he purred, truly meaning it. he then turned towards maplepaw. "congratulations, maplepaw."
