@beetlejuice Rainpaw had been apprenticed a few days ago, and yet she had begun training, or even met her mentor yet. She supposed that there was nothing she could do, and if Dapplecloud never showed, then she would simply be assigned a new one.
She didn't want to go out into the territory without a warrior, since it had become so dangerous, so the black and white she-cat spent all of her time in camp. Rainpaw felt bad, since she wanted to hunt for her clan, but she understood that she would be doing no hunting if she got herself injured, or worse, killed for being an impatient mouse-brain.
While she was waiting for something to do, Rainpaw figured she might as well get to know some more cats, and make friends. Her paw-steps soft, she approached a small kit who looked like she was alone.
"Hi there," Rainpaw mewed, her tone friendly, and gaze warm. "I'm Rainpaw, who are you?"

Beetlekit had positioned herself in front of the prey pile, staring down the dead creatures, lost in thought. She wondered if they too had similar emotions to cats. Was their thought process the same? Did they beg their ancestors for mercy before death greeted them? She shook away the morbid thought, licking her dry lips.
Beetlekit slowly moved forward, picking out her prey with care. She didn't want anything too big, not that she would finish it either way. She was a small cat, and she had a small appetite.
She jumped as another cat greeted her, eyes wide from being startled. "B-Beetlekit." She stuttered, her voice an octave higher than usual. She had never spoken to an apprentice, and wasn't exactly sure how to act around the much older cat.

"Cool, it's nice to meet you, Beetlekit." Rainpaw nodded, looking down at the small she-kit with bright eyes. Rainpaw loved kits- they were so cute, and this one was no exception. Plus, Rainpaw wanted to be a mentor when she was a warrior, and it would be good to start early on talking to younger cats.
Her tail twitched, and her eyes flicked from Beetlekit to the fresh-kill that she had picked out. "That's almost as big as you!" Rainpaw said with a purr. "You're not going to eat that all by yourself, are you?"

Beetlekit gave a soft nod to show that she thought the same back to her. She wasn't exactly sure what to think of Rainpaw just yet, though she did seem awfully nice. Despite this, she was still extremely shy, and didn't warm up to others easily.
Beetlekit blushed in embarrassment, looking down at the sizeable rat she had taken. It massive to her, but then again, so was everything else. "You could share it with me, if you'd like." She offered softly, taking a step back so she could have access to the prey.

Rainpaw was still bright-eyed and kind to the small she-kit, glad that she wasn't scaring the shy kit away with her friendly attitude. She'd had some negative interactions with other cats, but hopefully that would stay as an isolated incident.
Looking down at the rat, Rainpaw saw that it would be fine for any regular- sized cat, but Beetlekit would definitely need some of her help. "Thanks. You can have first bite." The tuxedo she-cat mewed, flicking her tail.

"Okay.." Beetlekit sat down in front of the prey, slightly unsure. It was odd, an apprentice wanting to share prey with a kit. She took a bite of her favourite prey, ears flicking contently. She supposed she may as well try and start a conversation.
"Who's your mentor?" She questioned, her voice small. Beetlekit doubted she would know the warrior, but it seemed fitting to ask.

"Dapplecloud. I've never met them, and I haven't done any training." Rainpaw said with a shrug, not showing how terrified that made her. How could she ever be a great warrior if she never even became a warrior?
She took a bite of the prey, thinking of something else to say while she chewed. "What do you want your warrior name to be?" Rainpaw thought it was an interesting topic, personally.

"Really? Were you just recently apprenticed then?" Beetlekit didn't mean to pry, though she was curious about it. Rainpaw, of course, didn't have to answer if she didn't want to.
"Not sure." She shrugged, keeping her response short. Of course she had a few ideas, though she didn't particularly care to share them with a stranger. "And you?" She asked back politely.

"Yep, just a few days ago." Rainpaw nodded. She wished that her training wouldn't be amidst such complicated circumstances, considering that RockClan was moving..
"I dunno. I like Rainmist. Maybe Rainbird.." She tilted her head, names swarming through her head as she looked down at the small kit. "Maybe you'll be Beetlesky. Or Beetleleap, or Beetleflight."

Beetlekit nodded, focusing her attention back on the rat. There wasn't much else to say about her mentor now anyone, so she supposed that part of the conversation was over. It was odd to her, how words were thrown around so carelessly, without much thought, and how fast they could be shut down. She shook herself to rid the thoughts, knowing now wasn't the time to get lost in her own head.
Beetlekit didn't think those names suited Rainpaw. They had no meaning behind them. Beetlekit didn't know the apprentice well enough to suggest anything though, so she remained silent. "Why would you pick those names for me?" She questioned, thinking hard about them. They were all some form of taking on air. Was she a lighthearted cat? Maybe. Or perhaps Rainpaw was suggesting that she had a free spirit. Or maybe she just thought they sounded nice.

Rainpaw took another bite, appreciating the taste. Prey was still running fairly scarce, and she had no idea what hunting would be like on the journey to the new territory. Without any proper training, Rainpaw would just be dead weight.
"Well, you're small, and I think that you could be agile.. I said Beetlesky because the sky is just.. I don't know. It's thoughtful. And you're quiet, and I think that means you're thoughtful, too." Rainpaw tried to explain herself, feeling somewhat ridiculous.

Beetlekit stared at her for a long period of time, her face completely void of emotion, analayzing the feline beside her. Soon enough a small smile grew on her ace, and she gave a little nod. "Those are very valid reasons." She only wished she could think of a name for Rainpaw in return, though perhaps she just wasn't creative enough.

Rainpaw breathed out a small sigh of relief, oddly worried about the small kits opinion. "Well, it looks like you'll be an apprentice soon, which means you'll be one step closer to finding out what your name will be." Personally, Rainpaw wasn't too concerned about her own warrior name, as she planned on becoming Rainstar.

"I suppose so." Beetlekit agreed, curling her tail neatly around her paws. She wasn't worried about her name, she just had to trust that Cloverstar would pick something suiting to her. "Do you want kits when you're a warrior?" It was too soon for both of them to be thinking about kits, though she couldn't help but be curious. Beetlekit already knew that she didn't want any, but did Rainpaw know what she wanted?

Rainpaw glanced at the ground, shuffling her paws. "Uh, I haven't really thought about that.." Rainpaw had not met many toms, and she hadn't really found herself attracted to any of them. Besides, she didn't want anything to get in the way of helping her clan-mates.
"What about you?" Rainpaw asked, curiously.
