Beetlekit nodded in understanding. She honestly hadn't expected a straight answer, it was hard to say when you weren't even close to becoming a warrior yet.

"When badgers fly." Beetlekit shook her head, giving a very obvious 'no'. She just couldn't picture herself with kits to take care of, she knew how stressful that would be. Besides, being locked up in the nursery again was not an option.

[Rainpaw]

"Good. I think you'll be a good warrior." Rainpaw mewed, her dark blue eyes glinting with excitement. She waved her tail, imagining Beetlekit alongside her in battle, or in hunting. "Do you think queens can still be leader?"

Beetlekit puffed her small chest in pride at the compliment. She hoped she would be a good warrior, though she was sure every kit hoped that.

Beetlekit paused, thinking. "Not permanent queens, obviously. As long as their kits wouldn't get in the way of them being leader, I suppose it could happen. Why?" She already knew the answer.

[Rainpaw]

"Well," Rainpaw hesitated. She didn't want to sound snobby and full of herself, but she genuinely wanted to be RockClan's deputy, and eventually it's leader. Of course, that was a pipe dream, and she doubted that Redfern or Cloverstar would even die in time for that to work out for Rainpaw. "Haven't you ever thought about what it would be like to be leader?"

Beetlekit shrugged. "Not really." She wasn't a very ambitious cat, and she understood that being leader meant a lot of hard decisions. She didn't want that life for herself. "Why do you want to be leader?" It was a simple enough question, but there was a lot of wrong answers.

[Rainpaw]

"I want to help my clan-mates, and make sure they're all safe and protected." Rainpaw explained the best she could, hoping her intentions came across in the right way. Beetlekit clearly didn't want that life for herself, and Rainpaw completely understood.

Beetlekit nodded. That was certainly a justifiable reason to want such a high position in power. "I could see you as a leader one day." She smiled kindly.

[Rainpaw]

"Thanks." Rainpaw said with a smile, her eyes bright. She couldn't wait until she was a warrior, and able to mentor young cats like Beetlekit.

Another subject popped into her head. "What do you think our new territory will be like?"

Beetlekit thought about it, tilting her head to the side. "I'm not sure. I'm hoping there will be some more trees around. Maybe some bigger water sources." She looked towards the feline. "What do you think?"

[Rainpaw]

"I like trees." Rainpaw agreed. She loved her RockClan home, but honestly, it was a very dangerous place, and it stressed her out a lot. "Maybe a place with lots of hills and rivers." She said, trying to imagine it.

"I'm not sure how well the clan would adapt to that." Beetlekit blinked, trying to imagine it. Hunting would be very different with a terrain like that, with different prey and different predators. She hoped that whatever this new land help for them, it would be somewhat similar to Rockclans life style, and suit them all well.

[Rainpaw]

"RockClan cats are tough, we'll adapt." Rainpaw said with a shrug. She doubted that their new territory would be exactly like their old one, and that was fine with her. "CloudClan will lead us to wherever we're meant to be, I suppose." Rainpaw concealed how stressed she was about the move.

Beetlekit nodded in agreement. She didn't believe Rainpaws tough outlook on the move though, she knew everyone was stressing out about it, herself included. "I'll probably be an apprentice by the time we arrive to the new territory."

[Rainpaw]

"It'll be fun to have another apprentice to hang out with." Rainpaw mewed. She had been apprenticed before any of her den-mates, and she didn't even know where her sister, Flickerkit had gone. "We'll be able to explore the new territory together."

Beetlekit smiled at the thought. "That would be so cool!" Her voice rose an octave, excited. She was mostly excited that Rainpaw would even want to do something like that with her. Did that mean they were friends?
