( Falconpaw, Please make a den cleaning thread and tag me before this thread is over.) Shiningflame kept a cool look on her face as she located her apprentice. "Today is your assessment day." she said. She had told the younger cat that it would be a special training day in advance and to be out right on time and to have already have eaten, but she had never said exactly why. She turned around sharply and led her way out of the camp before addressing her apprentice furthermore. "We will start with hunting. Catch two different types of prey in two different places, one being Blossom Pond, Dandilion Hill, the Reed Beds, or the Graveyard. The second prey you can pick," she said, flicking her tail to symbolize the younger cat should ask questions then or just go. She had been a rather lax mentor, so she figured she should change how she acted for the assessment. Warriors also had to know how to act under stress, and it was the best she could do to implement it in the assessment.

Falconpaw straightened up, squaring his shoulders. He was looking forward to becoming a warrior, although he hated to admit it. Apprenticeship had been tedious--there was always something new to do, and the dusky tabby had always preferred having a schedule. Hopefully warriorhood would provide him with that, and even if it didn't he was eager to show that he was useful to his clan.
"Alright," Falconpaw mewed with a nod. He had been told how final assessment would work by the older apprentice's in the den. Running over the information in his head. He figured he would try hunting graveyard; it wasn't too far and the fog would give him a good cover. He strode a head of Shinningflame, setting a brisk pace for himself.

Shiningflame sat as the apprentice walked away and then began slowly tracking the cat a few moments later, keeping off his acctual trail and making sure not to be noticed when she got close enough to see him.

Falconpaw entered the graveyard slowly, perking his ears up and keeping himself downwind. He flicked the tip of his tail as the scent of rabbit drifted towards him. The fog was thick, and the brown tabby was reliant on only his sense of smell to be able to tell where the rabbit was. Walking slowly, softly, he was eventually able to sneak close enough to the rabbit that he could see it's shadow. Falconpaw narrowed his eyes, bracing himself before pouncing, claws unsheathed. He missed the rabbit by barely a whisker length, but luckily he was quick enough to lunge his head forward and grasp it in his teeth. The creature struggled for a few moments before eventually falling limp, Falconpaw having broken it's spine under his jaws.

Shiningflame watched the catch carefully through the fog. She was impressed by it as she herself knew how hard it was to catch a rabbit once it knew you were there. She made sure to stay hidden and downwind of Falconpaw though.

Falconpaw's tail swayed happily, and he trotted out of the graveyard with the dead rabbit in his jaws. He buried it just next to the graveyard, committing the place to memory so he would know where to come back to later. I guess I'll go to the... reed beds now, he decided that it would be easy to catch a mouse or vole their--plus his tabby pelt blended in very well with the reeds. He began to pick up his pace and head towards the RockClan border.

Shiningflame nodded to herself as Falconpaw hurried the prey and continued following as he moved on to the the reed beds.
