"When do you plan on fighting for the role anyway?" Sky questioned, head tilted slightly. "I suggest sneaking into his den at night and slitting his theist." She added. Deathclan didn't have rules. Rose didn't have to fight fair to win, so long as he died in the end she could do it however she wanted to.

"Good question. To be honest, I'd rather not kill him, but I might have to. Do you know what he's like? As in, his personality." Rose wasn't sure how it would reflect on her if she straight-up killed Pain. Some cats might like how bold of a move it was, others might think she was undeserving of her new role. Hopefully, Pain would leave quietly.

Sky shrugged blandly. "I've never met him myself, but from what I've heard I doubt he'll stop until one of you is dead." She didn't think anyone would. Then again, Ash did...

"Oh, great." Rose's lip curled as she envisioned what she would have to go through against the power-hungry tom. She hesitated, trying to think of a way to get past that tricky obstacle. "..Then, I think, when I go to confront him, I'd like to take a few of my supporters with me. Would you be willing to do that, if I asked you to be one of them?"

Sky's tail flicked, making it seem as though she was actually considering it. "Alright, on one condition. If you do claim leadership, I will be your second. Think of it like the clans... what do they call it? Deputy." She purred.

Rose narrowed her eyes thoughtfully. "No. I will not just give positions away, they have to be earned. If you show that you're deserving of being my second in command, then you will be. DeathClan may be rogues, but a lack of dignity is what caused us to lose our status in the first place, and I will not be repeating those mistakes." She tensed, expecting Sky to attack her.

Sky was frustrated, though she didn't let that show. If Rose did become leader and didn't make Sky her second, she would simply kill her. "Alright then, your loss." She grinned.

"It's not a loss." Rose's icy gaze intensified, but her voice was still as even as ever. "If you aren't my deputy, it means you didn't have the merit. Though, to be honest, I'm not seeing much competition for the job." Rose had no desire to live in fear of Sky, but she didn't trust her for one heartbeat, either.
"If you really want it, proving yourself shouldn't be that hard." She shrugged.

"Oh? Then why don't you explain it to me." Sky grinned, though her muzzle wrinkled as if she was going to snarl. She was playing a dangerous game with this cat, and she stayed alert, prepared for any sudden attacks.

"I want you to be able to see the big picture. If DeathClan is a joke, then it doesn't matter who's leading it or who's second in charge. My deputy has to understand that our end goal is to make the clans fear us, and killing each other over stupid semantics isn't going to get anything done." Rose stated coldly, her claws unsheathed, and body tense. She was no longer considering Sky as her second in command, as the she-cat just showed that she was far too unstable and selfish. Like Pain.

"So you want order then." Sky leaned back nonchalantly, tail flicking. "You want a chaotic 'clan' to act like a real clan. That's unrealistic." She swivelled her ears, following the sound of a mouse. Knowing now wasn't the time to hunt she directed her attention back on Rose, her face no longer readable.

Rose thought about for a few moments. "No, we won't be a clan." She had come here to get away from clans, and it would be stupid of her to create another one. "I don't care if queens get fed, or elders. But I want things to be more like when Drought was leader, with a goal in mind and a level-headed cat to lead them."

"Well..," Sky paused, a sly grin on her face. "I know exactly what you should do." She declared. "Rumor has it that Rockclan moved out of their old territory. It's up for grabs, and if you can get on Pains good side by helping him steal it... It'll be that much easier to claim leadership."
