Sky Rose padded through the muggy territory of DeathClan, feeling one with her surroundings. She belonged here, in this damp and dusky make-shift clan, more than she ever did in her birthplace. Most of her time was spent envisioning her future here, as DeathClan's leader- Not because Rose wanted power, but because she simply thought she was destined for the role.
How to go about obtaining the role of leader was something quite tricky, and Rose was still trying to figure it out. She supposed she should make allies, and make sure that she had a few supporters. As far as Rose could see, Pain had no supporters.
Opening her mouth and tasting the foggy air, Rose scented another cat nearby and paused. "Hello?" She called out, turning to face that direction.

Sky walked calmly through the awful terrain, her body appearing relaxed, though every muscle was tense- as if at any moment someone would surprise attack her. She didn't have anything against the cats here, though Deathclan sometimes managed to live up to its name. Not most of the time though. She didn't really care either way.
"What?" She hissed, confused and annoyed. What did the stranger want?

"To talk. I know this is DeathClan, but a cat should still be allowed to have civil conversation." Rose took a step forward, looking at the stranger curiously. She noticed that the she-cat was lacking her eyes, and she immediately thought back to Ash, a cat she'd met earlier. Ew. When Rose became leader, she would try to decrease the amount of mutilations. There was no point in leading a bunch of cripples.
Although she was being friendly, Rose was prepared to fight if she had to, and watched the stranger with narrowed, icy eyes. "That is, if you aren't busy. I'm Rose."

Sky flicked her ears back, though she allowed her defensive stance to drop. Only slightly. She kept her unsheathed claws out, and her legs were still tensed, ready to leap at a moments notice. "Sky." She greeted back calmly, deciding there was no point in giving her a fake name. "What do you want to talk about, exactly?"

Rose shrugged, the tip of her tail gently flicking back and forth. "Things, I guess." What she was really curious about was learning more about Pain, but she thought it would sound suspicious if she asked about him outright. "How long have you been living in DeathClan?" Rose allowed herself to relax, and hoped Sky would do the same.

Sky wasn't here to play games. Not today. "Don't ask stupid questions. You obviously aren't talking to me to get to know me, so I'll ask one last time, what do you want?" Sky stepped forward, though it wasn't threatening.

Rose's ears flattened and she narrowed her eyes. "My question wasn't stupid, and I'm genuinely curious." She wasn't surprised by Sky's abrasiveness, it was common in a place like this, but she still didn't like cats making assumptions about her.
"Why shouldn't I want to get to know you?" Rose tipped her head, her voice smooth.

"Awhile." She answered shortly. In all seriousness she didn't know. She wasn't even sure how old she was. Not that it really mattered either, she was just a number.
"Why should you?" She retorted.

Rose decided she wouldn't dance around the truth. "I want to get to know the cats here because I'd like to be leader." The brown and cream she-cat stated bluntly, watching Sky's reaction carefully, expecting negativity. "Do you think that Pain is a suitable leader?" She didn't expect this cat to care, but it was worth asking.

Sky kept her face void of emotion at the topic of leader. She had never followed the politics of Deathclan, but she knew enough. This cat could prove to be useful after all. "I don't follow Pain, if that's what you're asking." She assured her, keeping her voice level. "He's a strong fighter, and he beat the last leader, so don't underestimate him." Sky circled the cat with interest, her ears pricking.

"Who was the leader before Pain?" Rose asked, glad that Sky was talking to her. She watched the tortoiseshell with interest, making sure that she never had her back turned on the blind she-cat. "He seems selfish, and focused on his own power. I want to make DeathClan formidable again and stop the constant infighting."

"Her name was Ash." Sky responded, her tone flat. The now blind cat owed her a favour, that is if she ever returned to Deathclan from the clans. Pathetic.
"I do hope you'll start some outfighting then." Sky raised a brow. If this cat wanted to make Deathclan a peaceful, soft place for cats then she wouldn't stand for it. Sky had still never seen an active battle take place in the clan. She joined because it sounded like a tough group of fighting cats.

Rose blinked. "Ash? I met her. She didn't seem like much of the leader type, either. DeathClan just hasn't had any good luck lately." Rose thought that Ash was a perfectly fine cat, but she was not qualified to lead this group of rogues.
Her pale eyes glimmered, and she practically purred. "How else do you think we're going to make the clans fear us? Yes, I'm going to unite DeathClan under my rule, and we will be feared."

Sky huffed. "Yeah, she was weak too. Especially now that he blinded her." Sky would never consider herself weak because of her lack of sight, but Ash had yet to adapt to it. Last she saw her she was barely moving without hitting something.
Sky grinned, ears flicking. "Then consider me an ally. How good of a fighter are you?" She questioned. Rose wouldn't be able to takeover with her wits, it would come down to teeth and claws.

"Good." Rose answered Sky's questions shortly, her upper lip curling into a smirk. Besides having the training of any full warrior, she'd also been living on her own for several moons, and had to learn to defend herself from predators without the help of her former clan-mates.
She flicked her tail. "Though hopefully, besides for Pain, I'll only have to fight cats outside of DeathClan. Constantly having to defend my claim to leadership will only slow us down."
