Calli lowered her gaze slightly and spoke quietly. "Mom."

Loki gaze softened. He knew that his mom had sometimes helped with the medicine cats, healing some of the sick and injured cats, but he didn't know that she had taught Cali some things. "Thats cool," he said.

Calli shook her head. "I never asked, what were her last words?" (She apparently hated her dad as she has no opinion on him.)

((aw, poor Odin))
Loki gave her a sympathetic look. "She said to stay strong, and never give up hope."

Calli nodded. "That sounds like her. She never cared what happened to her so long as others were helped." (So much for a two post thread... it's already past that.)

Loki furrowed his brow a bit. Yes, that sounded like their mother, and looked at how he had turned out. He didn't care about many cats, he wondered how much he cared for his own family. He looked at Cali, of course he wouldn't let anything happen to her, but what about Grayfang?
((i thought of that XD))

Calista shook her head. "Its now right for me to bring memories of her back onto you though. You've already had your share of mourning."

Loki looked down at his paws. "No, it's okay," he said, taking a silent breath. Then, he looked up into her eyes. "And what about you?" He wondered if she needed any help. He guessed he could try comforting her in situations such as this. He was at least a little good at that.

Calli shook her head. "I've felt the pain of more deaths than you have." she responded in a slightly hushed voice. "I thought you all were dead before anyway. If anything It's just a confermation of what was previously believed."

Loki swished his tail, slightly frustrated. "I see," he said, looking off into the distance. He wished his brother were there. That wish would only come once in a lifetime, but he did miss the fights they had, the battle they won together, and all the jokes they shared. Sure, he had Cali, but she wasn't a brother.
"I'm glad you're here," Loki said after a bit of silence.

Calista pursed her lips. "Not in anyway as glad as I am that you're here and alive."

Loki smiled. "You probably wished I was Grayfang though. I can see it," he said calmly. He knew that everyone loved Grayfang more than him, so why wouldn't Cali? Maybe his mom loved them equally, but she wasn't there to say so. Loki had always been thrown in the shadow of his older brother. Maybe that's why he had turned out... this way.

Callista nodded. "And yet if you were the one I though defiantly dead you would be the one I'd rather see. Loki, I don't judge you over him or him over you. And I don't like that others do."

"And yet, I wouldn't blame you if you did. It's what everyone else does, perhaps other than you and Grayfang. He sometimes judged me, but not most the time. He saw me for something better than what I had done." Loki stopped. Cali didn't know about what he did after the fire. Maybe it was better left unsaid.

Calli didn't let it pass. "What did you do?"
