Beetlekit relaxed calmly in the nursery, paws stretched out lazily in front of her. She was awoken by a low grumble. Beetlekit jolted upright, the noise terrifying her. What cat could posses such a low voice? At the sound of the next grumble she quickly placed the noise to her stomach. Laughing silently to herself Beetlekit stood, making her way to the fresh kill pile. She had almost reached it when she slipped on a slick rock, tumbling straight into a pile of mud. She scrambled to her paws, a small squeak leaving her mouth. She didn't mind the muckiness in her fur, she was simply frightened by the fall. She roughly shook her pelt out, spraying mud on a passerby. "Sorry!" She squealed, watching Dawnkit with wide eyes. She hadn't meant to, and she watched his reaction closely, hoping he wouldn't be angry with her.

Dawnkit was enjoying the new weather. It was nice to experience sunshine and warmth now more than the snow he had been used to for so long. The pale tom was laying beside the fresh-kill pile, snacking on a small mouse when he spotted another kit near him. He ignored her and intently focused on his food... that is until she slipped in some mud and shook mud all over him. He gave a small, annoyed hiss, more upset at the mud resting on his prey.
Flicking his tail, Dawnkit snorted, shaking his head at her. "Yeah, yeah... it's fine," he mumbled grumpily, pawing some of the mud off his own pelt before it could harden.

Beetlekit frowned, shifting her weight from paw to paw unsurely. She had ruined his meal. "Uhh... Hi?" She wasn't exactly the most social of cats, so she wasn't sure if this was okay. She had just sprayed mud all over him, and he didn't seem to like her much at the moment... but she needed more friends. And who knows, maybe he did too.

Dawnkit shoved away his meal, refusing to finish something covered in so much mud. He was not going to deal with the taste of mud for days to come. He half expected the she-cat to leave him, but instead she stayed and greeted him questioningly. He turned his blue gze on her, giving her a quick look up and down.
"Hi," he responded simply. "What were you doing?" he asked, giving her a suspicious look.

Beetlekit blinked. "I was hungry..." She looked down at the food he had shoved away. "Maybe we could eat together?" She flicked her tail towards the prey pile, also not wanting to eat the mud covered food. She was still sticky with muck, though she had no intentions of cleaning herself. She never much cared for the appearence of her fur, it seemed like something that was silly to worry about.

Dawnkit held back some annoyance when she mentioned she wanted to eat. Why did she get the pile covered in mud then? he thought to himself. "I suppose so. I'm not that hungry anymore, though," the tom replied, glancing at the mud covering her fur. Was she not bothered by her appearance? He always kept himself clean, so it was weird to think someone wouldn't do the same.

Beetlekit nodded, noticing the annoyance he held. She moved to the prey pile, going around to the other side just encase any mud had landed on the prey nearest to her. She pulled out a mouse, dropping it down in front of him and sitting down. She opened her mouth to say something, closing it quickly. She really needed to brush up on her social skills.

The she-kit pulled out a mouse, and he glanced at it before nodding. "Thanks..." Dawnkit paused. "Who are you, anyway?" he asked, taking a quick bite from the mouse and pushing it back at her.

"Right.. I'm Beetlekit." She introduced herself, taking a small bite from the mouse. She looked up at him expectantly, not thinking that normally cats would actually ask when they wanted an answer.
