Softkit stretched in her nest, yawning tiredly. Yet again she had gotten little to no sleep. 'is something wrong with me' she mused to herself. She shrugged, glancing around the nursery with her amber eyes. Her gaze flicked over each kit, most breathing deeply as they slept. Softkit huffed enviously, turning her head to peer out the nursery door instead. She watched the sky change colours through half-lidded eyes, imagining how it would feel to grow wings and soar among the fluffy clouds. Hearing a quiet rustling noise she listened behind her, suspecting that someone else was wake "g'morning" she mumbled, her mind still elsewhere.

Beetlekit had just woken up, and she let out a soft yawn, shuffling slightly in her nest to get comfy again. She had hoped to fall back asleep, though a voice broke through the silence. She squinted, confused. The kit didn't even look like she had slept. "Morning." She mumbled, slightly drowsy.

[Softkit]

Softkit jumped, startled right out of her dream like haze. She shook her head, trying to stand up in the process and staggering before falling to the ground in a heap of white and ginger fur. Groaning softly, Softkit stood up again, turning in the direction the voice had come from, feeling rather embarrassed of her clumsiness. "H-hi" the scottish fold waved her tail slightly with the greeting, trying to keep quiet so she wouldn't wake anyone else up.

Beetlekit giggled softly as the feline stumbled around, covering her mouth with a paw to silence herself. "I don't think we've met before. I'm Beetlekit." She introduced herself, hoping the kit wasn't too offended she had laughed at her. She didn't mean to, it was just so funny.

[Softkit]

Softkit twitched her tail nervously "I don't think we have, I'm Softkit, it's nice to meet..." she trailed off looking out the door curiously. The sun was up and the bright blue sky had caught her attention. It was just so pretty! 'oops I did it again' Softkit quickly turned her head back to bettlekit "You" she blurted out, finishing her sentence from before.

Beetlekit watched in confused amusement as the kit seemed to loose herself in her thoughts. She blinked when Softkit finally finished her statement. Beetlekit slowly shifted out of her nest, moving forward and sitting beside the kit, looking at the sky to see what was so fascinating. "It sure is pretty, don't you think?" She purred softly, keeping her attention on the sky.

Softkit nodded turning her gaze to the fluffy white clouds, trying to not get to lost in her thoughts. Beetlekit didn't call her out on her little blank out, Softkit really appreciated it. She tended to do it a lot and it was particularly embarrassing when she was talking to someone. "Thanks" Softkit mumbled, hoping why she was thanking beetlekit was as obvious to the other kit as it was to Softkit herself.

Beetlekit blinked, though she didn't take her eyes off the sky. Why had she thanked her? "Umm, no problem?" Her voice rose slightly at the end, like it was a question. "So, Softkit. How old are you?"

Softkit's tail twitched nervously, swallowing before answering " About 3.5 moons" Softkit peered at the other kit from the corner of her eyes, trying to stay focused "What about you? She mewed back, genuinely curious.

"About 5 and a half moons." A little spark of excitement burst in her chest. "By the time the move is over, I'll be an apprentice." It was sort of disappointing, knowing that she would be given her apprentice name in a new territory, but then again, her and Raccoonkit could potentially be the first.

[Softkit]

Softkit grinned excitedly "Thats so cool! You'll be part of the first group to explore the new territory! i wonder what it'll look like..." Softkit tried imagining, but it was impossible. It would be so different and new! "You'll show me when i'm an apprentice, right?" She asked hopefully, tilting her head at the older she-kit.

Beetlekit smiled softly at the other kits excitement, her ears flattening against her head. "Yeah..." She trailed off, unsure. She wanted this kit to like her, but she would probably still be a kit by the time they arrived, and Beetlekit knew sneaking out a kit would result in serious punishment. Hopefully by then Softkit would forget about it.

Softkit heard the hesitance in Beetlekit's voice and quickly jumped to correct herself " O-only when i'm an apprentice myself! I'd never ask you to break the rules, you could get in big trouble. Cloverstar would probably have to deal with it, that would be scary" Softkit said quickly, her eyes wide. She tried to imagine what could happen when you anger a clan leader. 'They might even feed us to the badgers' She thought, her eyes growing wider.

Beetlekit let out a subtle sigh of relief, her posture relaxing. She hadn't really looked at Softkit before, but she couldn't help but be curious about her odd ears. Were they always like that? Of course she didn't ask this, that would simply be rude. Instead she nodded, a small smile on her face. "Have you thought of any warrior names?" It seemed like a common question most kits asked, for some weird reason.

Softkit saw Beetlekit glance at her ears, that was the second cat in the past few days... She knew her ears were odd, they were folded down. Mama said it was okay, but Softkit wasn't sure. She jumped to attention at Beetlekits question " Not really, I just want something cool sounding, but I also want..." Softkit trailed off, imagining herself prowling through the new territory in search of prey for her clan. She was really excited to be an apprentice. "it to describe me, isn't that what warrior names are for? It reflects your personality" she finished her thought from before,silently curing her habit of trailing off.
