Swiftkit was glad that Hickorykit was alright. He wanted to play with his siblings, not hurt them! He supposed that jumping over cats was a bad idea. Better to go around them. He'd have to try to remember that...
He laughed. "I think that's a little much! But yeah! When we're big, you're gonna be the smartest cat ever!" He tilted his head. "Oh, yeah! Maybe! I bet our mentors are gonna teach us all sorts of cool warrior things!" He chirped, beginning to bounce energetically again. "Aw, I can't wait to be an apprentice! We'll have to do chores, but we'll learn all sorts of cool stuff too!"

Jumping to the tree-tops was probably a little too exaggerated for Hickorykit. However, she'd never seen a tree in her life and thought the stories she'd heard from the apprentices sounded wonderful. They stretched all the way into the sky, they said, and Hickorypaw hoped Fireclan had many trees for her to climb one day.
"Like how to fight!" She trilled excitedly. "And how to properly patch a hole in the den. And where to find the best moss to make nests." It seemed Hickorykit was far more excited about the mundane chores that Swiftkit was. The concept of battle training had hardly crossed her mind. "Do you think father will give us good mentors?" She expected all of the Fireclan mentors to be good of course, and trusted her father's judgement. "We should ask him. Or....we should fill his nest with bugs. One or the other."

((I feel like Hickory is going to be sorely disappointed by the territory unless Oceanstar decides to start pushing on the TC borders as well one day lol))
Swiftkit had heard some stories about trees as well and honestly... They sounded a tiny bit terrifying! He liked seeing the sky! He liked the idea of having wide, open expanses to run around in, to his heart's content! From what it sounded like, trees would severely get in the way of that. He was fine with a tree-less life, thank you very much!
He blinked. "That sounds kinda boring." He admitted. "I just wanna be in the territory so I can run around for hours!" He chirped, seemingly getting a bit too excited and bouncing ever faster. "Of course, Dad will give us good mentors! He wants us to be super good warriors, so we'll get super good mentors to train us to be super good warriors!" He babbled, conveying his logic to Hickorykit. He blinked. His bouncing slowed to normal. "Put bugs in his nest? That sounds really mean! Why would you want to do that to Dad?!"

- She is going to have all her dreams crushed xD Unless....TC territory could be fun -
To Hickorykit she thought running around for hours with no purpose sounded boring. "Each to his own," she finally replied with a shrug. Swiftkit was good at running so she couldn't blame him for wanting to do it a lot. She was good at being helpful, or at least she hoped she was, and enjoyed doing menial tasks.
"I hope so," Hickorykit expressed. "I want to be one of the best warriors in Fireclan! No, all the clans." Not that she'd have any way to compare herself to them unless they actually went to battle. The thought sent a tingle down her spine. "It sounds funny." All she could do was tell the truth. Hickorykit gave her answer bluntly then giggled. "It's ok, you don't have to help. You're like Plumkit. She didn't want to have an adventure either. It took so long to convince her to leave camp with me."

((oml is Oceanstar going to try and steal the trees
Swiftkit blinked. He sensed that his idea of fun wasn't as exciting to Hickorykit for whatever reason. "I... Guess?" He supposed he thought chores sounded like a boring prospect, even if they weren't a deal breaker. So, it all evened out! Hickory thought running around was boring, and he thought chores were boring.
He grinned. "I'm sure you'll be the best, no problem!" He chirped. It didn't even occur to him it'd be awfully hard to gauge who was the best warrior throughout all the clans without conflict. Then he tilted his head. "I don't think it sounds funny...." Then he blinked again. "Wait, what?! Did you leave camp before our apprentice ceremony?! Hickory, that's not a good thing!"
((I think I found my muse where it's been hiding.

- Oceanstar steals everything -
She offered Swiftkit a patient smile. Hickorykit wasn't too bothered if they found different things fun, that was the beauty of being individuals. She could still appreciate Swiftkit's hobbies though.
"Thanks!" Hickorykit puffed up her white chest proudly, ears pricked. "And when I'm the best leader ever I'll make you my deputy. That way I'll be serious and you'll be fun, it's perfect." She let out a chirp of laughter. Her eyes slit pleasantly even as Swiftkit scolded her, unable to erase the joy. "Plumkit and I went together. It's so big out there Swiftkit, you should have seen it!" She gave her brother a playful nudge. "Nobody caught us, it's ok."

Swiftkit nodded excitedly. "That sounds awesome! But, but! You really think I'd make a good deputy? You'd make a good leader for sure, but what about me?" He babbled. It didn't really occur to him that as a kit, it was a little silly of a thing to be worrying about, of all things.
He still frowned. "I mean... You still broke the rules. You could've waited! You're a lot better at waiting than I am!" He pointed out.

In truth Hickorykit didn't know if her brother would make a good deputy or not, but she had faith in him. No one could do a better job than a brother of hers and a child of Oceanstar after all. It was common sense. "Of course! With all your energy I bet you'll lead the way into heaps of battles and stuff!"
Hickorykit dropped her ears but didn't have the sense to appear bashful. She didn't regret her actions even after recognizing them as wrong. "Everyone has to break the rules sometime," she argued. "We just ate some grass then came back."
- Hahaha I know what you mean xD Do you want to end the thread soon then? They can have another later as apprentices -

((Sure. We can have a thread with them as apprentices! eheheh... tbh it's probably best for Swift to start having more threads as an apprentice instead of as a kit.
Swiftkit's tail waved excitedly and he grinned widely enough, that he closed his eyes. "Thanks, Hickorykit!" He squeaked, his expression finally relaxing enough for him to open his eyes again. He was ecstatic that Hickorykit believed in him so much.
Guilt crossed over Swiftkit's face. He didn't like the look on Hickorykit's face, but his expression quickly transferred into stubbornness as he folded his ears back. "The rules aren't suggestions, Hickorykit. They're there for a reason, right? Dad must approve of them, if he hasn't changed them. He could change any rule he wanted to, he's the leader. But he didn't." He said, actually speaking quietly.
