Loki winced as claws cut across his cheek, and he could feel the warmth of blood. He smiled, which probably made him look a little insane, and turned to her. He waited until she made another move.

Squirrelpaw frowned at his reaction, wondering what was going on in his head. The red she-cat let out a hiss and tried to dart past him and rake her claws along his side.

Loki winced again as she ran past him and raked his side. He was basically letting her beat him up, just for a feel of it. It was part of the lesson, and once she learned offense, she had to also learn defense. He turned rather abruptly and tried a shoukder shove that would throw her off her feet. If it managed to work, he would be able to say a few quick sentences.

Squirrelpaw saw his move coming, but she was unable to move fast enough, being forced off of her paws and onto the ground. She was bleeding from both shoulders and one of her ears, though her wounds didn't seem to bother her as she continued to hiss and snarl.

"Here's a tip," Loki started as he circled around the red cat laying on the ground. "You are good at offense, but you need better defense. One has to fight with both to be successful." He went in for a quick maneuver that would end up where she was pinned in a pose in which she could not escape unless he let her go. This was a defensive test to see if she could see it coming and get off the ground fast enough. It was a risky move on his part, but he believed it would work.

Squirrelpaw hesitated upon hearing his words, not knowing too many defensive moves. In a flash, Loki jumped at her, and Squirrelpaw attempted to dart away, however she wasn't fast enough, tripping on her own paws and ending up pinned helplessly beneath him.
"..I guess you're going to decapitate me now, huh?" Squirrelpaw mewed, only half-joking.

Loki narrowed his eyes and half sneered, "Funny. But at least I can show you how to get out of a trap such as this. You can't, unless you know how to." This was one of the hardest things for him to learn, because he could never get it right. "What I always found best was to aim like your biting at the ear, so your enemy flinches away, then shove up with your front paws to fling them off. Shove as hard as you can, or it wont work. If they are either much larger or stronger than you, you can still use this technique, but they will not be thrown off with a simple push. You must hit them, then duck back and roll away, out of their reach. Pop up quickly or you'll be dead meat, however." He let go of her, and took a few steps back, letting her get up before attacking again. This wasn't a real battle, it was basically training.

Squirrelpaw listened to Loki intensely, her dark eyes narrowed into slits, and her heart pounding with concealed fear until he jumped off, releasing her. She stood up, shaking dust from her pelt and facing him evenly. The move he described sounded very difficult, and Squirrelpaw didn't want to have to use it unless it was an emergency.
This time, she nimbly stepped back when he attacked her and then lunged forward, trying to forehead with her claws to stun him.

fears Loki nearly missed her blow but was still hit as she moved nimbly. He shook his head to clear his vision, and tried to see her bright red coat through the blurriness. He still acted as if he was alreau, however, and dropped into a defensive stance with a hiss. He could still see if she moved, even if it was a bit blurry.

Squirrelpaw wasn't sure how long this fight was going to go on, and she was starting to get tired. She tried not to show this, however, feinting a forward strike before suddenly changing direction and swiping at his shoulder.

Loki flinchef away awkwardly as she aimed for his scarred shoulder. The wound hadn't completely healed yet and it would open if she scratched it. As her claws barely hit it, he winced and looked down at it, the pain making his head clear. Suddenly, he wiped around and aimed for a strong bite on her shoulder.

Squirrelpaw let out a yowl of pain as Loki's teeth clamped down on her shoulder, blood running down in rivets. She would likely have to go to the medicine cat for this, but if she was lucky, Arrowstar wouldn't hear about it. In retaliation to his bite, she lifted a forepaw, aiming to slash at his ears to get him to release his grip on her.

Loki let go of his grip and backed away as her claws slashed across his cheek again, making it bleed more. "I think we're done here," he smiled. At least he had taught her a few things before her mentor got to teach her. He wondered who her mentor was, and what they would say about her skills.

"Oh, okay." Squirrelpaw stepped back, panting slightly. She'd learned quite a bit from this training session, much more than she ever had in faux fights with her mentor. "Do you think we could do this again sometime?" She asked, a bit too eagerly.

Loki smiled and have barely a nod, seeing that she would rather have him teach her than her mentor. He peered at her shoulder with interest, knowing the same kind of bite gave him his scar. At least he didn't take any skin with him like the cat had who left the scar. "How's your shoulder?" he asked her, knowing that it was a harsh bite.
