[Otterpaw : hey future bf]
Dawnkit had been rather bored sitting in the nursery. I mean, he did that every single day, and usually nothing happened that was interesting. Sure, one or two times he talked to some kits (usually one of his many brothers) or met someone by the fresh-kill pile. But, he didn't feel like going to either of those places today.
So he sneaked into the apprentices' den.
The cream kit wasn't worried about being caught. The worst that would happen was he would get a scolding from his mother or a warrior, and there were certainly scarier things. And maybe he wouldn't even run into an apprentice. He entered the den, intrigued by the smell (it didn't smell like milk or dirty nests like the nursery sometimes did). Soon I'll be here...

(Ayyyy ;3)
I liked sleeping late. Sure, leaving the camp was exciting and all, but nothing beat catching up on my well needed sleep. Especially on days like this one -- no training, nothing interesting happening. Not that I really had a mentor.. Or friends for that matter. There were upsides and downsides to not having a big social circle. Not many upsides, I suppose, except that you don't have to be expected to be anywhere or do anything for anyone else. I did have friends - Lionfang, Flintpaw, and Martenpaw - but no one had seen them for moons, Flintpaw even longer. I missed them all a lot, sure, but I'd given up on waiting for them to come home.
So, that allowed me more time to sleep. In fact, I was still sleeping well past noon until some inconsiderate cat walked over my tail. I recoiled, pulling it tight to my body, and turned towards the cat, trying my best to blink away my sleepiness. "Ow," I said, trying to make out who the other was. A kitten, I believed, or a small apprentice. After my sleepiness had been chased away, I blinked and looked down. "..Sorry," I muttered.

Dawnkit thought he had been the only one in the den since it the sun was high in the sky... but that was proven wrong when he stepped on the tail of some sleeping apprentice. The cream tom blinked in surprise. He thought all apprentices would be out training or doing some cleaning chore at this time of day.
"My bad," he meowed, stepping off the tail. The examined the apprentice for a moment before giving him a cool smile. "Why are you in here?" he asked, not meaning to make it sound dumb or rude. He was genuinely curious why he was still in here instead of doing something fun outside the den.
