A white cat walked across the murky swamp, the tip of her tail trailing the ground lightly. She carried with her a blackbird. Its feathers were lined with grey and its eyes, tired and lifeless, gazed ceaselessly up at the starry expanse above. It had died of old age. She couldn't have caught it if it were alive, for she was an awful huntress. It was depressing, really. The feline body was perhaps the most remarkable of nature's grand designs. Everything about it was specialised, precise, engineered for the fine art of catching and devouring other animals to stay alive, yet it was here that she failed so miserably.
Why? Hunting should come naturally to a cat. But the white cat did not follow her instincts.
Perhaps if Icy were to sit and think about it, she would prosper. She was easily clever enough to figure out how to catch any creature she so desired to eat. Her mind, however, could not be made to linger on what she deemed to be such a dull and meaningless topic. She thought about war, or politics, or felinology. She did not want to spend time brooding over the best ways to catch food. She didn't have to hunt. She could feast on eggs, or mushrooms, or scavenge. It was much more energy-efficient, anyway.
Icy stopped, sensing a presence nearby. Prrrrrrrrr... A cautious purr rumbled in her soft-furred throat as she attempted to identify it. Judging by the weight of the animal's steps, it was most probably a cat.
But if she were judging it by its weight, it could just as easily be a small fox. Likewise, it could also be an obese bunny rabbit. Hmph. She was stumped.
Prrrrrrrrr...

Belladonna was patiently awaiting for Winter to return to her with the extremely important information of whether or not the she-cat Sky was loyal to her cause, or a traitor in disguise. To pass the time, Bella was more thoroughly getting to know DeathClan territory, attempting to find the best places to hunt.
So far, this was her least favorite area. The air was murky and caused every paw-step to feel heavy, while the only prey she could find were ugly creatures such and lizards and toads. Ew. Belladonna noted to herself that she would come here if she was starving, since despite her distaste for the prey, it was still plentiful.
It seemed there was another cat nearby, one she hadn't yet met. How delightful, another opportunity for an ally.
Or perhaps this cat would be an enemy. DeathClan was not a hospitable place, and the cats here were not always inclined to agree with her.
"Hello there," Bella called out, quietly unsheathing her claws and tensing her body for an attack. Just in case.

Harley had gotten tired of the Twoleg place already, although it was smaller than others she'd been to, there was still much to explore, too much, and she needed to take a break from the sickening smells and feeling of captivity.
Well, everything felt that way.
She hadn't stopped walking deeper into the other territories when she smelled what she guessed was another clan; but instead disguised her scent so she smelled the same. Hopefully they wouldn't recognize the difference, if anyone found her.
Harley now was in a disgusting place, that smelled worse than the Twoleg stenches and made a mess of her recently cleaned pelt. The stench was clogged by what she guessed a toad, which was confirmed by a loud croak a second later. She crouched down, not caring how much she despised the texture of toads. She had to eat something soon, even if it had to be a toad.
Preparing to strike, Harley stopped and looked up when she heard voices. Before her were two cats greeting each other, it seeming as if they weren't yet acquainted. She grinned, glad for the distraction- glad she didn't have to eat that vile creature.
Harley walked up to the other two, letting her hips fall into a deep, rhythmic sway.
"Didn't know there was a party. Why wasn't I invited?" She greeted them, faking a whine. Harley jutted out her hip when she stopped, stretching as she unsheathed her claws.
((Hope it's okay I joined? Says open in the title so...))
