Marigoldkit sat outside the warriors' den for a few moments. Yesterday the warriors had caught her and shooed her away. This time would be different. The dawn patrol had just left so the others would still be sleeping. Her creamy tail fluffed out in excitement, Marigoldkit crept into the den. Her nose wrinkled at the strong smell of so many cats. Snores covered the sound of the kit's footfalls, which Marigoldkit thanked CloudClan for. Some nests were lined with grass or feathers. The curious little one decided to see if they were as comfortable as the nests in the nursery. She found an empty nest and lied in it.
The warrior's nest she lied in was more comfortable than Marigoldkit realized. Soon the little kit was fast asleep with her tail curled over her nose.

minnowfin yawned as she made her way across the clearing and into the warrior's den, ready to go and sleep after a long day of hunting. she quietly entered the den, knowing that most of the cats in there were sleeping, and not wanting to give herself a bad reputation she decided it would b best to let them rest.
letting out an almost silent purr, the young tabby made one final step towards her nest and was about to flop onto it qhen she noticed something. there was another cat there- a kit to be precise, "well, what do we have here?" she whispered softly, stepping slowly into her nest and curling up next to the tiny cat. "are you sure you should be in here?"

Cats chased the fox through the forest. A cream she-cat was leading the patrol. Powerful leg muscles were hidden underneath her fur. The other cats were falling slowly behind. The cat wasn't paying attention and cornered the fox in a bramble bush. The larger animal turned around to face the she-cat. Green eyes met amber in a staring contest. Neither enemy wished to move first nor move too quickly. Both animals had shared determination to survive their fight. A yowl was heard from the side, causing the cream she-cat to look up. The fox made of the most of his chance, "Goodbye, filthy cat!"
The kit's little body twitched in her sleep. Marigoldkit's eyes shot open. She saw the ginger fur beside her, but fear kept the little kit frozen. A CloudClan cat came for her. Immediate disappoint followed because she wasn't even an apprentice before she died.
"Is this CloudClan? Did I die?" Marigoldkit nervously squeaked. "If that fox killed me then this is where I'm supposed to be." Blue eyes looked around the den. It looked very real for being the afterlife. Wasn't she dead? Marigoldkit looked up at Minnowfin. The older cat didn't look dead or mystical at all. Marigoldkit felt that she shouldn't judge. She had no idea what the afterlife looked like.

minnowfin smiled softly, letting out a small, almost silent laugh when the kit twitched in her sleep. the warrior just presumed her younger clanmates was dreaming and purred as she looked down at them. yet, suddenly the kitten awoke and began asking questions. "cloudclan? no, dear, don't be silly," she chuckled, deciding it would be best not to inform the kit that she didn't believe in the afterlife.
"what fox?" she asked softly- was that was the kit was dreaming about, being killed by a fox? well, that explained why she was twitching so much. "don't worry, there's no fox and you're certainly not in cloudclan," the brightly coloured tabby began to explain further, "you're in the warrior's den... i think you fell asleep here by accident."

Marigoldkit was comforted by Minnowfin's purr and visibly relaxed. The young kit took Minnowfin's statement about CloudClan with a grain of salt; it didn't occur to the cream she-kit that cats didn't believe in CloudClan. Marigoldkit's little body deflated with a relieved sigh. Now she make out the other sleeping forms in their dens. Marigoldkit purred in relief. She hadn't died. But that fact didn't stop her from kneading the ground with her claws. Feeling the dirt loosen underneath her was the final reassurance Marigoldkit needed.
Bright kit-blue eyes glanced up at Minnowfin. The older cat's eyes and voice were calm, but at Minnowfin's words the little kit seemed to shrink. She smelled of anxiousness. "I'm sorry I fell asleep in your den. I wanted to see if your nests were as comfy as the nests in the nursery." Marigoldkit hoped Minnowfin wouldn't kick her out just yet. Minnowfin was Marigoldkit's first real warrior to talk to and the little kit had many questions to ask.

minnowfin chuckled again, testing it out a little louder and looking around at her den mates to make sure they were still sleeping. "it's fine, don't worry about it," she said, swishing her striped tail twice before wrapping it around herself and the kitten, "does your mother know your in here? she's not worrying about where you are, right?" the young warrior asked with slight worry- she didn't want to cause any problems by not telling the kit's mother where she was.
the young cat grinned softly, "well what we're your results? is it just as comfy?" she asked, not knowing herself as she had never been inside the nursery before. afterall, she had no reason to.

Marigoldkit snuggled up to Minnowfin. The warmth from the bigger cat was appreciated. Marigoldkit felt safe, like she was in the nursery. Worry filled Marigoldkit's eyes. "I don't think she'll be worried about me," the kit mumbled. She tried to sound confident, but her voice betrayed her. Honestly, she wasn't sure where her mother was. Marigoldkit didn't even remember if Peachglow was in the nursery when she left. What if she had caused her mother to worry?
Kit-blue eyes found Minnowfin's. The kit's eyes were unsure of herself until Minnowfin asked Marigoldkit a question. "The nursery dens are comfier," this time Marigoldkit sounded confident. "Do you want to try one for yourself?" Marigoldkit stood up and wiggled in her excitement to show her new friend her nest in the nursery. The creamy she-kit's tail fluffed out in her excitement.
Even if she had caused her mother to worry, which she hoped she hadn't, being brought back by a warrior would lessen her punishment. Marigoldkit's kit-blue eyes turned hopeful.

minnowfin nodded, purring, "if you say so," she replied, placing the side of her head in her mossy nest and nuzzling into it, "even if she is, i'm sure she'll be okay if i just explain to her," she reassured, recognising the kitten's worried tone of voice.
minnowfin nodded, smiling at the answer, but flicking her ear, unsure of the kit's question, "i'd love to... but i don't think i'd be allowed," she explained, "afterall, i'm not a queen or a kit," she said, but lifted her head up off of the nest anyway. "i can take you back there though, if you'd like," the bright tabby offered, noticing that the she-kit seemed excited to bring her over.
minnowfin yawned and stretched her legs, "what's your name, anyway?" she asked, waiting for the kit to accept or decline her offer.

Marigoldkit watched Minnowfin nuzzle her nest. It was an action the cream kit had never thought of before. Was Minnowfin's nest alive? Marigoldkit looked between the warrior and her nest. Did nuzzling the nest make it more comfortable? Soon the little kit was lost in her thoughts.
Minnowfin's words brought Marigoldkit back to reality. The little kit dipped her head. That sounded good. Minnowfin must be wisest warrior ever. Marigoldkit found that she liked Minnowfin. The warrior was nice, polite. Maybe Minnowfin could be her mentor. Marigoldkit would certainly learn a lot from her.
Kit-blue eyes curiously narrowed at Minnowfin. Warriors weren't allowed in the nursery? She had seen them bringing prey once. Isn't everyone in the Clan connected? Marigoldkit thought this was peculiar.
"I would be safer if you came with me. I don't want to be an owl's next meal," Marigoldkit said as she looked at her paws. The sun was low in the sky and what if an owl got her? The little kit was scared of dying. She hadn't lived her life yet.
"Marigoldkit," the kit stated. "What's your name?" Marigoldkit's blue eyes found Minnowfin's.

minnowfin nodded in understanding, lifting herself to her paws and stretching, "understandable," she purred back, lowering her head to give the cream-coloured cat a quick nudge with her pink nose. the warriors brown eyes looked out at the camp clearing- it was getting pretty dark out now and it seemed the rest of the clan were either asleep or on patrol. she smiled lightly and took one step out of her nest.
"well, marigoldkit," she continued, glancing around at her denmates again to make sure she wasn't disturbing any of them, "it's nice to meet you. i'm minnowfin," she then introduced herself, taking another step.
"you might want to be careful now," she said quietly, "don't want to wake any of the other warriors up, they might get grumpy," minnowfin warned softly, swishing her tail once.

Marigoldkit took a step towards the entrance since Minnowfin nudged her. The kit looked outside and pressed closer to Minnowfin. The cream she-kit blinked and swallowed. She had a strong warrior by her side. There was naught to fear. Her little legs carried her to the entrance, but she looked back to Minnowfin for reassurance. While waiting for Minnowfin to join her at the entrance the kit glanced around the den. No one had woken up. A wave of relief washed over the little cream body.
Now just to see whether or not she would get in trouble by her mother.
"Minnowfin," Marigoldkit repeated. "That sounds really pretty. I'm glad I met you too," the little one purred despite her fear of going outside. She reminded herself that Minnowfin was a warrior and that she would be protected. The kit stood to her full height and looked outside. The stars were shining and there was a gentle breeze. For being new and scary the night seemed oddly peaceful.

-when you write a good reply and lose it because of bad internet connection-
minnowfin grinned and blushed slightly when marigoldkit commented on her name, "why thank you," she continued with a small chuckle, "although i guess the compliment actually goes to fallenstar, he named me afterall," she purred, reaching the entrance to the warrior's den. slowly, she leaned down again and gave marigoldkit another quick nudge, trying to reassure her again, "if you get scared, i can carry you there," the bright red tabby offered although quickly quietened herself when she heard a denmate stir.
yawning once more, minnowfin stepped fully out of the den, immediately feeling the cold breeze through her fur, sighing in delight at the feel of it.

[I'm so sorry; I know exactly how that feels.]
Marigoldkit questioningly glanced at Minnowfin. "Fallenstar gets to choose our names?" The little kit snorted. "I hope I get a pretty name like yours. Can I ask him for a name I want?" Kit-blue eyes stared hard at Minnowfin when she was nudged. Marigoldkit was going to say something back, but thought better of it. Minnowfin had every right to nudge her. The warrior must be sleepy after a long day of the protecting the clan. Marigoldkit wondered if she would be sleepy after a day of being a warrior too.
"Okay!" Marigoldkit responded. She hoped Minnowfin wouldn't have to carry her. The cautious she-kit followed Minnowfin outside the den. Fear rose up in Marigoldkit's belly and she stood close to Minnowfin. Her eyes scanned the camp for any danger. Her ears upright, trying to catch every sound.
The camp was almost unrecognizable to the kit. It looked completely different in the dark. Shadows from the moonlight were menacingly long. The wind howled through the camp. It blew Marigoldkit's long fur all to one side, making the kit appear like a giant cream puff.
"You...lead...the...way." Marigoldkit tried to sound confident as she looked at her paws.
