Kitepaw Cherrypaw supposed that she should be more concerned with how slowly her training was going, but if she was being honest, she didn't actually care. Either she would be a warrior or she wouldn't, and stressing over it wasn't going to change anything. All she could do was practice hunting and fighting to the best of her ability and see how things turned out.
She padded through the muggy reeds, having just buried a fat frog. Cherrypaw had never eaten frog before, but it had practically jumped into her mouth and she wasn't going to reject perfectly good prey.
Pausing to scent the air, Cherrypaw noted that she wasn't alone in the damp area, there was another FireClan cat nearby. The bobtail looked around, her gold eyes glimmering in the dusky light. "Hello?" She called out gently.

kitepaw had been cooling himself off in the water surrounded by reeds when he heard the greeting, called out by another cat seemingly of a similar age and the same clan. he grinned widely and leaped out the water, shaking off his long fur and looking over at the other apprentice, "hello!" he greeted her in return as he began to make his way through the reeds towards them. "what'cha doing out here?" he asked, shaking his still damp fur again.

Cherrypaw looked the young tom over, and was surprised to see that like her, his tail was missing. She concealed her excitement, not wanting to bring it up if it were a sensitive subject, but her eyes shone anyways.
"I was hunting." Cherrypaw mewed, also noticing that the other cat was wet. "What about you? Did you fall into the water?"

kitepaw nodded- hunting made sense, he had been told it was a lot easier in the newer seasons. yet, he imagined it would be equally as difficult considering the heat. "oh... umm," he began, glancing back at the water he had just been in, "i was just swimming, try'na cool down a little." he laughed slightly, "being fluffy's a curse."

"I've never tried swimming." Cherrypaw said, her eyes wide. Her fur was of average length, the only unique part about it was that the texture of her pelt was unusually soft. "I'm too scared I'd drown." She said with a slight shudder.
She thought she recognized him from a ceremony, but Cherrypaw didn't want to make assumptions. "What's your name?" The patched she-cat asked, tilting her head to the side.
((ohhhh gosh these two are so cute ^^))

kitepaw shrugged, "you'd probably be alright if you stood in a shallower part... but I appreciate you not drowning so i wouldn't risk it." he smiled, shuffling his tufted paws in attempts to dry them a little more.
"oh! im kitepaw," he introduced, "you?"

"Oh, Kitepaw. You're one of Oceanstar's kits, right?" Cherrypaw knew that she recognized him from somewhere, and now she was fairly sure that this was the son of her mentor, the clan leader. "I'm Cherrypaw." She added afterwards, casually licking her paw and drawing it over her ear.

kitepaw nodded, smiling, "yeah," it felt a little weird that he was being recognised despite having not met this cat before, but he was happy nonetheless.
"well, it's nice to met you, cherrypaw"

"It's nice too meet you too, Kitepaw." Cherrypaw chirped brightly, then fell silent, looking a bit dismayed. She didn't feel like a very interesting cat; there was no juicy drama or mysterious backstory that could be made into conversation.

kitepaw smiled, although it quickly dropped when he realised cherrypaw wasn't as happy anymore, "come on, let's do something, anything you want," he offered, wanting to make a new friend.

"Oh, okay! Uh.." Cherrypaw hesitated, possibilities swarming through her mind. There wasn't a lot to do in FireClan territory that Cherrypaw hadn't already done. "I've always wanted to climb a tree." Just once, though. With her balance issues, Cherrypaw knew it was somewhat of a risk.

kitepaw grinned widely, "okay, we can do that," he purred, looking around to try and remember in which direction the treeclan border which as. he had only ever been out of camp once, so he wasn't quite sure, "i think the trees are this way...?" he asked, pointing with his paw and tilting his head. cherrypaw was a little older than him, so he expected her to know where to go.

"Yep, near the TreeClan border!" Cherrypaw mewed brightly and began to head in that direction. Of course she would be careful, she always was, and since she wasn't alone, her and Kitepaw could look after each other. "Of course, we aren't going to cross the border." Cherrypaw added as the two neared the wooded area.

kitepaw purred, padding alongside cherrypaw with a smile as he looked around at the trees that started to appear more and more the closer they got to the border. he stared over it for a while at the strange sight of the forest, but quickly snapped out of it and looked at all of the trees on their side of the border, "so, which one are we climbing?" he asked.

Cherrypaw looked around, searching for the perfect tree. There weren't too many impressive ones on their side of the border, but she supposed that was to be expected, because of course TreeClan would claim all of the best trees. "This one." Cherrypaw mewed, padding up to a sturdy, medium-sized hazel tree and placing her paw on the trunk.
