Aelin walked through the territory, her mostly blue eyes slightly narrowed to glare at any cat she saw as her golden fur shimmered in the sunlight. Both were from her mother. She was a long way from any of her homes and wasn't sure how she felt about that. She hated her other homes for what they did. Just the thought of one of them sent the scars on her back tingling. There were three main ones, though her fur mostly covered them. Yes, her old home definitely wasn't nice to her, but a select few of the people in it were. A good percentage of which died. Her mind wandered to Nehemia, the body strewn across the den, and turned her thoughts immediately back to stalking through the new territory and getting to know it. They cat's weren't really a thing to worry about for her, as she could definitely match their fighting skills, but she did want to be left alone at the moment. She would worry about not pushing them away another day. @winterr, reused an open thread, hope ya don't mind.

| W inter padded through the land, alert for any hostile cats. He was somewhat in a mood for a fight, but that was simply the assassin in him talking. He shook his head, ridding it of the lonely voice inside. He didn't live that life anymore, and didn't want to relive it again.
He scanned the sunbaked land, quickly spotting a golden-furred cat a few tail lengths away. His muscles instantly tensed, but he reminded himself that the cat probably wouldn't attack him. At wasn't what cats around here did, they were... soft, he guessed. Then he scowled at himself, what was he saying? He looked around the ground, spotted a twig, and intentionally stepped on it with all his weight, creating a loud cracking sound.

Aelin's ears perked as she heard a snapping twig and would have tended had she not already sensed the cat nearby. All of them were threats, but they were also so sloppy. They were easy to notice, but she didn't take sloppiness to mean bad fighters. She had no doubt going to war with her new home wasn't the best option. This cat though, the one nearest the snapping twig, seemed a bit better at being quiet. So the twig snap was probably intentional to draw her attention. Holding back a sigh, as she wasn't sure she wanted to confront a new cat at a moment, she whirled around and gracefully made her way forward, her paws making next to no noise as she moved. "Hello there."

| W inter stepped off the twig in a swift, light movement that made it look as if he could walk on air. He blinked once, scanned her over, and responded. "Hi." It was slightly drawn out, as if he wasn't sure he was in the mood to talk, but, he had drawn her attention, he had drawn her over, so why would he stay silent now?

Aelin gave a hesitant smile. Again, she didn't wish to go to war with cats. Then again, mistakes happened... she cut off the train of thought before a glimmer could appear in her eye. "I'm Lillian." she intoduced. It was the name she's had used with the kittypet she had met and would be the name she used until she figured out if they had heard of her even out here. She had used it in her old home to, when participating in the competition that freed her. She had about five names, all of which she had used more often than acctually Aelin, but that was the name she was trying to go by more. That was the name she was given at birth. Of coarse, she would never give anyone her full birth name. Names had power. That was why in her land they had two parts, and the second was kept secret. "You appear to be better trained than litterally any other cat I've encountered here. That makes you the least of a threat then," she said, her eyes narrowed and calculating. She figured most of the cats were faking clumsiness. At lease she knew what to expect with this other cat.

| W inter narrowed his eyes, wondering if he should take 'less of a threat' as offensive. He did, and his lips peeled back slightly in a grimace. "I wouldn't hold your breath," he said. These cats had no idea what he was capable of, they were soft, narrow minded, and arrogant. He then internally took a breath, as the assassin part of him was coming out on top again.

Aelin tilted her head. She should really just draw the line but... she didn't quite feel like it. The other cat's were stupid, but she may have fun with this one. Why was she in such a mood, she had no clue. Maybe it was the other cat himself. She simply shrugged, returning her attention to the statement. "Exsactly what I mean. You give away your talent by, well, acting like you are trained. The other cat's here? How could they survive the foxes and wolves that must roam through here if they were as ignorant as they act?" she inquired.

| W inter considered this statement in a blink of an eye. He processed it quickly, and answered with a well thought out explanation. "They couldn't." Mmm, well thought out. If that answer wasn't impressive, he didn't know what was.

Aelin nodded. "That means that they are better than they seem. The facade that they put on makes them more dangerous than you because they have unknown potential. With you, you probably went through almost as much training as me, and that's with a buffer of about three moons just in case." she shrugged.

| W inter narrowed his eyes at her. Was she bragging? Did she just say that the other cats here were more dangerous than himself? "I would think they are as stupid on the inside as they are on the outside," he commented nonchalantly.

Aelin shrugged. "You would. If you didn't just agree that if they were then they wouldn't be able to survive out here with the wolves and the foxes," she shrugged. "Although, I have to admit that they are really stupid for other reasons. My previous master taught me rather the hard way to never get to cocky." She remembered that test. One of the last she had been given before she killed him. Poison was what brought her down. A cowards front. And then after he died he had sold out her best friend in his will... it was still worth it though. "I'm new around here though, so I wouldn't know. I'm just inferring to how the cats of my old home acted."

| W inter was surprised to hear that she was new, and already, she had made all these assumptions, about him, about the rogue clan, about everything. "I don't think you should judge something before you meet it," he said. He didn't quite like her, but she was a little interesting. Besides, he wouldn't judge her yet.

| W inter nodded at her. "Lillian, was it?" he asked, trying to be friendly. He didn't want a bad reputation anymore, and he was trying to get off the tracks of his old life. At the moment, it seemed as if his train was back on the tracks he tried to leave, but now he tried turning it a different direction. He wanted to stay in that direction, as well.

Aelin nodded. "That's me. And you're Winter, right?" she asked. She was, after all, in a new home, so she should probably try to be nice. Even if she didn't want to. Then again, what was the fun in that? Alas, maybe she could make enemies after she settled in.
