T he day was so fresh, Loki couldn't help but get up and smile. The birds were singing, a coat of dew covered the ground, and the warm sunrise instantly hit his fave as he stood up. He felt today would be one of the best days of his life, for some weird reason. He felt be couldn't enjoy the morning alone. So, with the intentions of asking her to go hunting with him, Loki padded towards Calista's den. He only hoped that she was there are the moment. As he padded along, he noticed that everything seemed, a little quiet. He was getting closer to the Deathclan border, but he shrugged it off as he spotted his little sister's den. Even if they didn't share any blood, she was still his sister, and probably the only family left. Loki poked his head in, looking around. "Cali," he whispered loudly. "Get up, lets go hunting." ((for @thor also))

'Calista shook her head. How... just how. A momment ago she had been alright, so cheerful and... herself. But now... she took a few steps back, making it out of sight, but not far enough away to lose the scent of the blood on her nose before she collided with another cat behind her, turning to see-' She awoke before she could register the cat, but she knew, she knew who it would be. It was always him. The cat with fur darker than night. Her gaze traveled across her familiar den before getting a hold of herself to greet the cat who stood before her. Loki had a black pelt, but even his wasn't as dark. She shook off the remaining fear and nodded. "Sure. Hunting sounds great."

L oki gave her a concerned look, before turning and waiting for her to pad alongside him. "All the prey is going wild, like they're trying to get enough food before winter comes." It was weird for them to be so active this early in the morning. ((sorry my bus for school is almost here))

(I've gotta get to class so I'm in the same situation.) Calista nodded. "It was the same yesterday but... i guess it's just odd. Leafbare has already come to pass." she muttered, shaking her head as the line brought her mother's song into her head. It wasn't one the others had known but... it was the one she associated most with the older and now dead cat.

L oki padded along, looking around for any prey. He was being choosy today, and would only go for the biggest one. Usually, he could never eat the whole thing, but today, he could share with his sister. He quickly found a few squirrels scurring about the trees. His eyes followed them, narrowing as they stopped to chatter to each other. "Do you want squirrel?" he asked, turning to Cali. He, personally, would prefer a mouse or rabbit, but squirrels were fine enough. He never really enjoyed them as much as he once did, however. At least, not since he met Squirrelbite. Eating anything named after the she-cat made him feel uncomfortable. He wasn't sure they were close enough to be called friends, but they were closer than all the rest of the cats he'd met here. Well, not all. There was always Sky, but he felt she might betray him at any moment.

Calista stopped a look of disgust from spreading across her face. Squirrels were harry and stupid; not worth catching. Narrowing her eyes she thought up something challenging that wasn't too bad. Rabbit would be the quick choice, but what she found to have better quality meet was vile. She nodded and gave her answer. "What about vole?"

L oki nodded. That was an excellent idea, and he was surprised he hadn't thought of it. "Know of any good places to find them quick?" he asked. There was a small river nearby, and he saw a few water voles there once.

Calista shrugged and nodded. She knew a few creeks that housed water voles, and took a moment to consider before heading to one with what she thought were the best. Not the biggest in size, but the best in taste.

L oki padded along with her, and before long, he could hear a creek bubbling and laughing ahead of them. Cali knew this corner of the territory much better than he did. He ventured around the Canyon and the edge of Deathclan, along with the clans more often. Loki angled his ears straight toward the creek, sniffing the air and flicking his tail. He instinctively went silent, the only thing that one could hear was an occasional breath and his heartbeat. He nearly glinded over the grass, creepily stealthy.

Calista watched as Loki picked a price to hunt, then sniffed the air herself, heading in the direction of the best smelling vole, which was a bit further than most would bother just to be picky. She crouched down, carefully aiming before she pounced, grinning as she bit its neck and it died peacefully.

S uddenly, a stupid vole appeared in front of Loki, and he decided he would play it cat and mouse. He let it start running toward the water, where it would be safe, before leaping in front of it and cutting its path off. It darted the other way, but he scared it again. Finally, it tripped, and he leaped upon it. It wriggled a bit, trapped between the black cat's paws, then Loki bit it's neck. It stopped moving almost instantly. He picked it up in his mouth and looked up at Cali. This was a pretty open spot, and he was wondering if she would rather eat under the cover of something. He, personally, didn't like the idea of being watched.

Calista nodded slightly to Loki as if sensing the question, and then moved to a tree, debating wether to climb it and eat up there.

L oki noticed where she was aiming to go, and he swiftly went up to the second branch. He set his vole down and looked around.

-my reply is so late so sorry guys-
it was a fine day, but grayfang didn't notice it much as he was exhausted.
he hadn't been by this area for a while, after leaving his brother after multiple deaths and grief. grayfang wanted to leave, everything behind, nothing was left for them there anymore. but raven had refused, and gray, in his anger, left anyway. he hasn't seen or heard from his brother ever since.
now, he was falling apart.
there were other lands of interest and strange animals, it was nice. but it was horrible. he was lonely, he felt as if a piece of him were missing.
he missed raven.
but now, he wasn't so sure ravenblaze was here anymore. he spotted a few of those clan cats, even getting chased by one when he got to close to their borders. other than a few other creepy looking cats, there wasn't any sign of his brother anywhere. he was sure he didn't join a clan, and he hoped he hadn't left.
he spotted a vole in the distance, his mouth watering at its delicious scent. crouching low, he took a few quick steps, coming in a distance of a few feet. he pounced, slamming his paws to the ground. he grinned, opening his paws slightly, only to discover there was no vole inside. what?! he growled, snapping his head to the left to see a blur of fur disappearing under a bush.
he had it, he had enough. he was hungry. he basically hadn't eaten in days. he took a deep breath, standing up, looking around he seemed to be alone.
he screamed. "I swear on -" he began, followed by a flurry of rotten words.

((I'm going to steal this post, sorry Cali!)) L oki flattened his ears quickly, staring straight out at a gray cat not far away, obviously angry. He looked as if he had been going for a vole nearby, and it had run away from him. Loki grinned, amused. For some reason, he found it funny how others had trouble catching prey. "Cali," he whispered with a smile. "I think he lost his prey, come see this." Then the smile disappeared as the wind started to blow towards him. The scent that struck his nose, its was sickeningly familiar. He instantly flattened himself against the branch on which he was standing, and his ears went parallel to his head. As he stared at the flustered gray cat for a little longer, he couldn't help but feel a small growl begin in his throat, but he quickly stopped it. He had no idea how to react, and he wasn't even sure the cat was his missing brother. Besides, after all these years, why not go back home? Why come to this drab part of the world, and how had he found it? How had Cali found it? How had Loki found it? How had they all ended up in the same place...?
