((just to clarify, this is set on the rockclan border.)) @thor
Rainpaw wandered through the stony terrain with no real destination, only with the goal of clearing her head. It had been a long time since her apprentice ceremony, and yet, Dapplecloud had yet to begin her training. She hadn't even gotten a territory tour, meaning that Rainpaw had no idea where she was going and had to rely on scent and common sense to determine what the borders where.
Taking her time to get to know the pretty scenery, it wasn't until sun-down that she reached the outskirts of RockClan, where instead of bordering another clan, there were only ambiguous rogue-scents beyond the scent markers.
Opening her mouth and tasting the air, Rainpaw noted that she wasn't alone. The bulky she-cat tensed, her eyes flitting around the land past RockClan borders, trying to discern where it was coming from. "Hello..?"

grayfang sighed, kicking away a small pebble. he looked once again towards the sunset, only to find the sun had finally hid away; the moon lighting up his path. a cool breeze set in, gently ruffling his fur.
he paused, an odd scent drifting towards him. sure, he was surrounded by rogue and that odd deathclan scent all the time, but this was different. it was fresh, crisp. he perked his ears, a look in the direction of the scent.
"hello?"

Rainpaw looked at the loner suspiciously, her ear flattening and fur ruffled. Although she was naturally large, Rainpaw was still not a fully grown cat, and she still had kit-like features that made her a bit less intimidating.
"What are you doing here?" The tuxedo she-cat asked, her voice bold despite her disadvantage.

a female appeared, alone. what are you doing here? she asked, a strong tone in her voice; yet slight nervousness in her eyes. he could tell she wasn't a rogue, yet didn't smell like one of those deathclanners. he snorted. such dramatics.
she probably belonged to one of those nearby clans, similar to the ones back home. an apprentice for a while now, maybe; but her features still as a kit. she shouldn't be alone, especially so close to their clan-border. or was it? was he deep into their territory? he hoped not, it hadn't smelled like it, anyway.
grayfang narrowed his eyes at the female, who looked so vulnerable. she blended in with the night mostly, but he could now see her as if it was clear as day.
"something wrong, miss?" he asked, a taunting tone in his voice. no, he wouldn't hurt her. but he wished her clan-mates knew if she had run into someone else... she could be good as dead.

Rainpaw met the strange cat's gaze evenly, a growl rising in her throat. What kind of cat would she be if she didn't defend her territory? Cloverstar would certainly send her into exile for letting some rogue prance around the border, and Rainpaw would rather die defending her territory.
Pushing down all of her overwhelming fears, Rainpaw resolved to deal with this like a respectable warrior. "You're about to cross over onto RockClan territory." She explained with a steady voice, the tip of her tail twitching back and forth. Although she spoke fairly calmly, there was an edge to her tone that implied Rainpaw would fight without hesitation if it came to it.

grayfang smirked softly, casting down a look towards his paws. he walked backwards.
one step. two, three.
"better?" he ssked, sitting down obnoxiously a little ways from her.
"what's your name, rockclanner?" he asked, testing the name on his tongue.

Rainpaw considered lying and saying that she was a warrior, but she was fairly sure that he would see through her. No, she had to face this with dignity.
"My name isn't any of your business. Stay away from RockClan." Rainpaw didn't think that he was likely to cross, but she wanted to stay until she was sure the loner was gone.

gray rolled his eyes. she was smart.
he stretched out his back, yawning; then walked over to her, smiling all the while. he stopped until their whiskers barely touched, and looked down at her, "what if I don't?"
he was sure she wouldn't attack, and even if she did he would overpower her in an instant. he was a big cat, she was big too; but nothing compared to him. he was a warrior, trained and bred to be one. and she still looked to be a kit, though she seemed older than that. he didn't know how much older he was than her... though he didn't care. he was annoyed of her bluffing.
he snorted, before sitting down right in front of her; and licking his paw. oh, were they sore. he'd been travelling for ages, he could've fallen asleep right then and there. but he wanted to see where this would go, if anyone would come looking for the cat. it was getting late, the moon almost directly over them now. if her clan mates woke up and she was gone, he was sure cats would send for her.
he gave her a bored look, "grayfang." he said shortly, dropping his paw to the floor. it didn't matter if she knew his name, she couldn't use it to any advantage.
(Sorry I feel like this is a weird post an all scattered everywhere)

Rainpaw felt a twinge of curiosity upon hearing the strangers name and couldn't help but wonder if this cat was from another clan. TreeClan, maybe, since she didn't know what TreeClan scents smelled like and he was on the outside border. He certainly wasn't acting with the attitude of a clan cat, though, and he hadn't even known RockClan's name. Odd.
"If you don't, then I'll defend my territory," Rainpaw answered with a flick of her ear. "even if I'm unsuccessful, a border patrol will come along soon enough and finish the job." The apprentice had no pre-conceived notions that she had even a chance to win in a fight with him, and she calmly accepted that.
She let out a low growl as he neared her, her eyes blazing fiercely. "If you would just leave, then we won't have to come to that." Rainpaw warned finally.

grayfang blinked slowly, his thoughts going back to his old clan. he couldn't blame the girl, someone being on his territory, he'd go crazy. gray fang watched her a long time, before nodding and backing away; when he was sure he wasn't on their territory at all. although he doubted anyone would be coming along soon.
he looked at the she-cat, who seemed to have a glow of bravery around her- literally. "shouldn't you be heading out?" he asked, as the moon was almost gone and a small beam of light showed from behind him.

"I'm not leaving until you do." Rainpaw responded briskly. She was completely exhausted from all the time spent exploring RockClan territory, and by now she hadn't slept in quite some time. At this point, all her body wanted was to curl up in her nest and sleep for the next moon.
Unfortunately, because of this cat, Rainpaw was unable to do that. Holding her ground, the bulky apprentice continued to uphold her defensive attitude, despite the relief she felt from seeing him cross off of RockClan territory.

"I don't have to leave." he said simply. "I'm not on your territory anymore, so I'm not a problem."

"As soon as I leave, you could cross back over the border." Rainpaw pointed out stubbornly, her upper lip curling at him.

"I'm not going anywhere." He growled, refusing to let this child control him. although he had nowhere to go, she didn't need to know that. she'd automatically assume he'd go camp out somewhere on their territory if she knew that. he wondered if she'd give up and leave, but he definitely wouldn't. he walked to a smooth rock, that was for sure outside of their territory, and laid on it. letting himself get comfortable, his eyes still fixated on thee cat.

Rainpaw forced down the burst of frustration that she felt, and instead took a seat as well, her eyes never leaving Grayfang. "Then neither am I." The tuxedo she-cat wondered how long she was going to have to be here, although she was clearly determined to stay as long as it took.
