@winterr ((My titles range from deep and thoughtful, to random, to just plain crack))
Natalia was starting to become interested in what members of Deathclan were roaming about like they owned the place nowadays. She met Belladonna, but had yet to meet this... Winter, character. She'd investigate Calista later. For now, Winter seemed to be a cat of interest. She always had met Sky and Spice, who were still around. Patch apparently had dropped off the grid, similar to herself. She was a bit irritated that Pain apparently had done the same thing, when he was supposed to be leading this merry band of orphans.
Regardless, finding this Winter character was why she was perched in a tree branch overlooking the clearing that Deathclan used as a sort of... Camp. Cats tended to come through here one way or another, eventually, for any number of reasons. Well, there was also the part about her having no idea what his habits were like. So, she waited in her perch for signs of this... Winter, guy.
She'd seen a few cats pass by, however she never drew attention to herself, since she'd known those cats. She was looking for a stranger.

| W inter padded along on silent paws. He didn't like the Deathclan 'camp,' and preferred to stay away. He didn't like being questioned, or stared at, and that's the two things he got when he came here. He was only here now because he had wanted to meet up with Belladonna, but then again, why did he even need to do that?
He had failed his mission, and he never liked returning to one failed.

Finally, a stranger had walked into Natalia's line of sight. She called down from her perch. "Hey, are you Winter?" She called down. He certainly had a pelt for it. Dark and gloomy... Much like the sky during Leaf-bare. He seemed like the grumpy silent type. She really hoped he wouldn't be too boring, honestly.
Natalia might be a bit grumpy now and again, but she wasn't boring.

| W inter's fur stood on end as someone from above called down to him, knowing his name. Obviously, his appearance hadn't gone unnoticed, and he desperately hoped that his story hadn't spread with his name. His mind wandered quickly through all the faces he had met, and who he'd told his story to. Only one, if two cats, but that could've been too many.
Winter looked up and quickly spotted a red cat, his sharp eyes finding the flaming pelt against the warm green of the tree. "Yes..." he said, eyeing her up and down. He'd never seen her before, and wondered who she was.

Natalia was glad her call didn't go unheard. Though, none of her satisfaction showed, only mild curiosity. "So." She started, before beginning to descend the tree. She leapt between lower branches, until finally she bounced off the main trunk of the tree and landing gracefully on the ground. She had a vaguely amused almost-smile on her face.
"I heard about you from Belladonna. Figured I'd like to meet the cat she considers to be her most trusted follower." She purred. She tilted her head. Then she shrugged. "Honestly, I'm bored and I've been a bit out of touch with things for a while now. I'm Nat."

| W inter nodded, now understanding why she knew his name. He wouldn't exactly call himself a 'follower,' maybe just one who likes change. He was mildly amused by her name.
Winter dipped his head in a sarcastic, respectful manner. "Its nice to meet you," he said, before looking for her shoulder. He brought his gaze back when he decided that he had nothing to be doing.

Natalia tilted her head. "So. You're backing her. You're newer. You come before or after, Pain went off the grid?" She imagined it was likely after, and the tom wanted to back a leader who wasn't, y'know, missing. It made sense to the red-furred tabby.

| W inter shrugged. "I was around when he was around, but it wasn't long after when he disappeared. Besides, he didn't seem like a strong leader. I thought no one had challenged him yet because everyone else was too lazy to try." He gave Nat a look that said, why didn't you stand up to him?

Natalia shrugged. "I'm not interested in power. Besides, I was backing him when he came to power. The cat before him was worse, trust me. All arrogance and talk, not nearly enough actual skill to back it up." She tilted her head. "I thought he'd been good. I was wrong. My loyalty to him ended when he let Iceclan get off scot-free."

| W inter nodded, understanding. If Belladonna showed she wasn't the strong cat he believed in, he would drop her behind. He was well aware that Bella might be scared of him when he was older, since he was already strong now. But like Nat, he had no interest in leading a clan or power. He already had his fill of power, and it felt awful. With a shudder, his mind ventured back to cracking bones and blood beneath his claws, while he walked away with stained claws, his face a stone and his eyes glazed over. He put a paw to his head, and muttered, "I'm sorry."

Natalia noticed the shudder. Apparently, he'd been unnerved from some unknown, unseen reason. She shrugged it off. "Eh. It's fine." She contemplated if she should share anything. "You realize, Deathclan tends to attract certain types of cats. We tend attract orphans with rough pasts... And adults who find life lacking and are searching for something better. It's pretty much a given that you don't have the prettiest backstory if you're here." A certain cat named Spice crossed her mind. "Usually." She amended.

| W inter flared up a bit. "My backstory is-" his fur settled down a little and his voice returned normal as he said the next word- "fine." He sighed, no it wasn't. She might be right, and he was looking for something better than what he had had. But that couldn't be true. He didn't think Deathclan was the best the world could offer. It was simply a way to hide until he figured something else out.

Natalia didn't even flinch. At the most, you could say she blinked lazily. "No one who feels to need to be that defensive is 'fine.'" Then she raised a paw up. "But, hey. I won't pry. I wouldn't want you snooping in my past, so I'll respect your's." Then she tilted her head. "But, I'd suggest learning how to lie better. There's a lot of brats in Deathclan who'd love to poke their nose where it doesn't belong."

| W inter nearly shrugged this suggestion off. "I never really talk, and I've never needed to lie before, since I usually ended up killing my enemies. But... I'd rather not do that anymore." It was a poke into his past, but he wouldn't go deeper than that. He didn't like cats knowing much of what he did and what he went through.

One of Natalia's most interesting aspects... Was her rather skewed moral compass and yet she'd never killed someone. She shrugged. "I see then. Well... You'd be surprised what cats can glean without ever hearing a word." Of course, that was mostly Natalia's expertise... However, you never knew when you might encounter someone with her skills of perception.
