Juniperkit stumbled out of the nursery, eyes bright. She got a full night of rest without nightmares that night, thank CloudClan. She felt more talkative, as well. Normally Juniperkit leaned towards being the silent type.
Juniperkit padded over to the base of a crooked willow tree. She looked up at its soft, outstretched branches and its thin leaves flitting cheerily about on their branch.
The dusty brown she-cat glanced over her shoulder to find her brother, Basilkit walk out of the nursery. Juniperkit strode over to him, a small smile on her muzzle. "Hey, Basil!" Juniper greeted, the smile growing.
@bastille
(lol, Juniper here isn't normally so positive... Idk what I'm doing with her anymore xD. Oh, and sorry about the length. I can normally write more, but I didn't really know what I was going for in this thread lol)

After a long night of tossing and turning, Basilkit woke up grumpy. He walked out the den to see his sister, Juniperkit, approaching him. Basil decided to be in a good mood, seeing that his sister was in a good one, and greeted her. "Morning, Junip-Berry." The kit didn't bother asking how she slept, as all his siblings knew about the reoccurring nightmares shared between them.

"Good morning!" Juniperkit smiled, biting her lip to keep a purr of amusement from escaping from her mouth.
(Cats don't purr from their mouth but whatever)

The tom-kit chuckled softly to himself, looking mischievously towards the camp exit. He looked back towards his sister, a twinkle in his eye. "Wanna sneak outta camp?" They were only kits, they shouldn't get in much trouble if caught. Besides, he's done it many times before. The camp was confining, anyway.

A mischievous sparkle appeared in Juniper's mismatched eyes. She grinned widely, and if she already was doing that, it was even wider. She let her gaze wander, making sure that no one was around. "Sure," Juniper whispered back. Then, her gaze drifted over to the camp entrance. It might be difficult to go through there, but Juniperkit suspected that she and her brother were small enough to wedge themselves through the woven bramble walls, but they'd get a bit scraped up in the process. "Have you been out of camp before?" Juniperkit asked, wondering if there was an alternative.
(Do we have to get permission from staff?)

"Many times. Follow me." He walked over casually to the exit, and, when no one was looking, squeezed through quickly. Basil whispered through the hole, "Quickly!"
Once his sister appeared, he looked out towards the wide forest. There was a spot he liked especially, but maybe he'd take his sister another day. For now, they'd go to a place much safer and closer. "The Sky Tree, we'll go there." He said aloud for her to hear.
After walking for a few moments, the tree had already come into view. It pierced the sky, the greens and browns oddly contrasting from the light blues. Basil waited by a bush to be positive no other TreeClanners were near, scented the air to double-check, and sprinted to the tree when the coast was clear. He looked back over his shoulder, making sure his sister was following.
(( I'm pretty positive not. ))

Juniperkit dashed through the entrance of the camp. She nervously padded behind her brother, constantly scent-checking and listening for clanmates. Juniperkit settled next to Basilkit when they arrived at their destination. In front of them towered an ancient tree. The branches spiraled up, the lowest branch looking like it was just out of reach. Juniperkit eyed it with interest. She thought that if she jumped high enough or was able to sink her claws in the bark deep enough to get a hold of the trunk, she could clamber to the lowest branch. But she waited for her brother to give the signal. After all, he had been here before. He'd know if it was possible or not.

Basilkit clawed his way up the tree trunk, which was very thick itself. He stopped at the first branch though, not going too high. He, after all, was still only a kit, and could be hurt badly if something went wrong. Basil didn't want the same for his sister, either, who he nodded at to slowly make her way up. He believed she could do it, but he wouldn't allow either of them to go any further.

At Basilkit's signal, Juniperkit crouched down. She tensed her muscles, then sprang into the air. Her paws wrapped around the bough, and she pulled herself up from there. Squeezing next to her brother, Juniperkit took in the view. Even from there, she could see a lot more than from the camp. This tree was so high that its leaves blocked nine tenths of the sunlight, making it so that no other trees could grow in the area.

Not surprisingly, the air was fresher up here. Basil breathed it in deeply, letting it soothe his lungs. He grinned down at his sister, who was now joined next to him. "Nice out here, isn't it?" And for once in his life, Basil was grateful he'd ended up in this clan. He always wondered his origins, but for now, he was safe here in TreeClan.

"Yeah," Juniperkit agreed. "It's funny; we owe our lives to TreeClan, yet we still... don't really feel like we belong." A distant look entered Juniperkit's eyes. She stared out as far as she could. The forest obscured most of the view, but she could still make out the camp. Juniperkit purred contentedly, and she started to relax.
