you and I'll be safe and sound It was around midday, and the sun shone bright in the sky, warming Gingersplash to the bone. She hadn't seen a day like this since leaf-fall, and noticed that everyday seemed just a tiny bit warmer than the last. It was exciting, really, and she was especially glad for her thin coat. Gingersplash sat in the middle of the camp, toying with a leaf she found there. It might look as if she was a kit, playing with a mossball, but she wasn't throwing herself down in the dirt, attacking the leaf. She was simply hooking it gently with her claw and throwing it into the air, where she watched it gentle descend in front of her eyes. She turned her head as her ears picked up a noise. Her eyes found the nursery, and a smile without teeth formed on her face. She liked kits, she could go days without seeing them, but she liked them. That is, most of them. hollykit frowned as he stepped slowly out of the nursery and into the camp clearing, wanting to get away from the confined space and take his mind off of the dream he had had last night. he yawned softly, having not gotten too much sleep, and made his way into the center of the clearing, beginning to scan the large (to him anyway) area for any possible companions.
it didn't take him long before he found one...
a smile forming on his face, hollykit stepped over to a ginger warrior who was seemingly playing with some sort of leaf, and, wanting to join in, the brown and white cat lowered himself and pounced forwards. however, the young kitten ended up missing the leaf and landing on his side, rolling over- yet, he shook it off and turned to look at the warrior.

you and I'll be safe and sound It didn't take long for Gingersplash to find the eyes of a kitten, and as he padded over, she guessed he wanted to play with her leaf. She didn't have to wonder long, however, as he aimed for her leaf, pounced, missed, and rolled on his side. She smiled and padded closer to him, offering a warm greeting.
"Hello there," she started, swishing her tail gently. "I'm Gingersplash." She flicked the leaf closer with her tail, and it floated past her face and closer to his paws. made by ∆ ashycat of adoxography |

hollykit grinned, swishing his tail softly and introducing himself, "i'm hollykit," he said simply, hoping that he wouldn't be given any weird looks now he had introduced himself... it wasn't that judgement made him feel self-conscious or sad, but more angry.
he reached his dark paws upwards towards the leaf when it floated down to them, and let out a laugh as he dragged it in and pulled it to his dirty-white chest, looking up at gingersplash with a small smile.

you and I'll be safe and sound Gingersplash smiled when he gave his name. "Hollykit, I like it!" she said with a grin. She liked bames that were different, and she always thought 'holly' was included in those unique names. She wasn't sure unique, being named after her pelt colour.
Her eyes twinkled as he caught the leaf and pulled it close to his chest. "Your already better than me!" Gingersplash exclaimed. "I couldn't catch it." made by ∆ ashycat of adoxography |

hollykit grinned, showing small kitten teeth picking up the leaf between his two forepaws and holding it upwards towards gingersplash's face, "thanks," he purred, wriggling around on the floor as he waited for the leaf to be taken so he could sit up.

you and I'll be safe and sound Gingersplash took the leaf in her teeth gently as he held it to her face. She smiled behind the plant in her mouth as he wriggled around. She always forgot how much she enjoyed kits, even if they were a little annoying at times. They were much more fun to hang out with than grumpy warriors. hollykit let out a small chirp when gingersplash took the leaf from him and rolled onto his front, sitting up and shaking his pelt, the action turning his left ear inside out. he blinked his amber-yellow eyes and swished his tail repeatedly, "what do you wanna do?" he asked, eager to make a new friend out of the warrior.

you and I'll be safe and sound Gingersplash dropped the leaf and smiled at his ear. She wanted to fix it, but she would imagine Hollykit wouldn't like that too much.
She smiled. "What would you like to do?" she asked him. If he stayed with her, they might be able to go out of the territory, but she wasn't too sure about that, and didn't want to risk it. made by ∆ ashycat of adoxography |

hollykit tilted his head in thought and twitched his paws, "ermmm..." he thought, looking around, "can you teach me how to hunt stuff?" he asked, not wanting to play anymore games now. his eyes scanned the area, "we could use like... moss or leaves or something."

you and I'll be safe and sound Gingersplash stood with a flick of her tail. "I could," she said and hooked the leaf back up into the air with a claw. As it floated closer to her face, she trotted up to it and caught it neatly with her mouth, and continued trotting. "Follow me!" she said around the leaf and gestured with another flick of her tail for him to follow. made by ∆ ashycat of adoxography |

hollykit purred and smiled widely, padding after gingersplash and shaking his head again to turn his ear back the right way round. he had to run slightly to catch up with the warrior, but quickly ended up walking next to her, "where we going?"

you and I'll be safe and sound Gingersplash smiled at him as he trotted along beside her, and she lead him around the nursery and through a tangle of vines that hung down from a large tree. Behind the vines was a large enough area to train a cat, but it wasn't too large. It was surrounded on three sides by tall, moss covered rock, and overhead, it was covered by the large tree.
"This," she started, letting the leaf go and gesturing around the area, "is basically my secret hideaway. Not many cats know about it, but its still within the camp. Not many cats poke around behind the nursery, anyway." made by ∆ ashycat of adoxography |

hollykit tilted his head as he looked up at the vines they walked through, into an area of camp the young kit had never seen before, "it's... nice over here," he commented, making his way towards the trunk of the tree, digging his small, sharp claws into it and attempting to climb it with a grin.
