hollykit gave a small grin, "so when are we gonna start? where should i stand?" he asked with enthusiasm, removing his claws from the tree and crouching down in a wobbly hunters crouch, figuring he was doing it right anyway. he glanced around the area for a few secnds before he turned his attention back to gingersplash, wriggling his hindquarters as he waited for a reply.

Gingersplash watched as he attempted a hunting crouch, and she padded over to crouch beside him. "This is a good place," she said, eyeing him. "Try to distribute your weight evenly amongst all four paws." She suggested and she demonstrated the crouch.

hollykit looked up at gingersplash and gave a quick nod, trying to move his small, brown paws into a more appropriate position, where he wouldn't fall over if he tried to walk anywhere, "this is good, right?" he asked, now confident in his position as he continued to wriggle slightly.

"Better," Gingersplash said as she stood up and dragged a leaf closer to Hollykit. "Aim for this," she said, her smile gleaming.

hollykit nodded, his face showing concentration as he stepped slowly towards the leaf, figuring he wouldn't be able to pounce that far. then, as gracefully as he could, the young cat leaped forwards, landing on his belly although still on top of the leaf. he frowned slightly when he didn't catch it properly, but stood up and walked back to his previous position.

gingersplash smiled with amusement and happiness. "that was good!" she exclaimed. "you can try it again if you want. you'll probably be better the second time." she gave him a quick wink.

hollykit nodded, crouching once he was back in his previous position and getting ready to strike upon the leaf again. he could do this. he believed, therefore he could. backing up slightly, the young cat pounced, his dark forepaws landing swiftly on top of the small, green object. a wide grin spread across the kitten's small face as he looked up at the ginger warrior before him, "i got it!"

Gingersplash broke out into a smile at his excitement, and she felt accomplished for teaching someone something useful. Now, he could impress his mentor with his slightly developed skills she had taught him. "That was wonderful!" she exclaimed.

hollykit grinned in pride at gingersplash's comment, swishing his tail from side to side as he looked at the small leaf he had caught, now with a few tears in it from the kitten's teeth and claws. "what do i do now?"

gingersplash smiled with a twinkle in her eye. "Now we head back or your mother might be worried about you," she laughed and began to lead the way from the small hollow.

hollykit frowned, "aw, but i wanna stay out longer," he whined, watching as gingersplash began walking towards the nursery and following her begrudgingly.

gingersplash laughed slightly at his whine and led him to the nursery entrance. "you'll always be able to play tomorrow," she smiled and said a small goodbye, before continuing her duties as a warrior.
