Everything outside was perfect, from the sunlight to every small dapple of green on the camp floor. The light filtered perfectly through the canopy of leaves above, and hit Gingersplash's face in a few areas, but not lighting up her whole face. She closed her eyes with a small smile, but suddenly a noise disturbed her. Her ears perked up and she angled her head down to spot what had made the noise.

Gingersplash's eyes met ones of a kit. She smiled and stood up, her electric blue gaze twinkling. "Hello there."

Basilkit was sneaking around the camp, trying to remain unseen. It was just practicing his skills, but he had long decided sneaking out of camp wasn't a good idea- so he snuck around inside camp. 

The young tom-kit came across a warrior, a pretty female; who had caught him. He flattened his ears towards his neck, internally groaning. There was a stereotype of warriors, they were rude and, quite frankly, scary. He hoped this one wouldn't be that way. 

"Hi, i'm Basilkit." He answered, with cheer.

Gingersplash smiled in amusement as she noticed she'd caught him in the act of escaping the nursery. She used to be the same way. She hated being confined to the stuffy walls and mewling kittens, and always wanted to get away from the queens, who constantly nagged at her for being too loud.

She shook her head with bright eyes. "I'm not going to send you back." She said, then lowered her voice. "I always thought the queens' rules were lame, anyway." She winked at him, as if to say, thats a secret.

Basilkit smiled, deciding he liked this she-cat. "They are." He agreed, with a whisper. For some reason, it also seemed like they were harder on his siblings, and someone always had an eye on them. 

"What's your name?"

Gingersplash smiled as he agreed. Sometimes she acted like a kit herself, but she didn't really care. She always thought those who were able to be fun and not act like grown ups were the best cats to hang out with. Of course, she still had the attitude of a full grown cat, when she wanted it, but she also had the playfulness of a kitten.

"I'm Gingersplash," she answered with a small flick of her ginger tail. She wondered temporarily about what Basilkit had been up to, before she caught him. She narrowed her eyes with a smile, a playful expression on her face. "Were you going to sneak out of camp?"

Basilkit shuffled his paws nervously, yet met the warriors gaze unflinchingly. "I have before, but, not today." The kit didn't feel like getting reprimanded today, even though he wasn't caught before. "When you were a kit, did you ever sneak out?"

Gingersplash only let out a light and soft laugh at his honesty. At least he was being honest, that was the good thing, but she wouldn't scold him for it. She had once been a kit, as well, and she thought that anything she met out there wouldn't be able to harm her, because she could just run away or fight it. She had been overly confident in her fighting skills.

Gingersplash nodded her head. "I did sneak out once or twice, but luckily I didn't run into any foxes or badgers. Back then, I thought that I was the queen of battle, and could defeat anything that threatened me." She smily smiled at herself. "It wasn't until my training started that I saw I wasn't even very good at fighting."

"Well, I can't wait to start training. We'll be apprenticed very soon, my siblings and I." The thought was exciting, Basil couldn't wait to begin his 'journey' as an apprentice. "I don't know many warriors though, so I have no idea who will mentor me. I've only met you, so far."

Gingersplash felt as if she couldn't stop smiling, and at that moment, she wondered if she looked the slightest bit creepy. She shook out her ginger pelt, ridding it of a thin layer of dust that had settled on it. Now, it looked as if it was gleaming in the sunlight.

"I bet Arrowstar would consider it if you made a mentor request," Gingersplash told him. Shehad recieved the mentor she wanted, but that felt like ages ago, though it wasn't that long ago. "There are plenty of warriors that would be more than happy to train you."

"I guess." He muttered, kicking some dust on the ground. 

Basilkit looked around at his clan mates that could be spotted around the camp, in the clearing, and near the den entrances. The thought of meeting Arrowstar frightened him, as his gaze connected with the leaders den, but he didn't know why. He guess that's just the attitude leaders give off, but maybe he'd meet Arrowstar one day and that would change.

Basilkit sat, smiling slightly as he complimented Gingersplash. "I like your name, it fits you very well."

Gingersplash smiled and blushed a small bit as he complimented her name. She had always thought it plain and boring. "Thank you, I like yours, as well."

Gingersplash's ears perked up a slight bit. She looked down at the kit, her eyes curious. She hadn't played any games since kithood. "What kind of game?" she asked.

Basilkit shrugged. "I dunno much games, the other kits don't really play with me." It was true, whenever he wasn't with his siblings, he was alone. The kit wasn't too creative either, limiting his option of activities.

Gingersplash thought back to when she was a kit. "We could play tag," she suggested. She wondered if he ever felt lonely. She had had that feeling as an apprentice, but as a kit, she was always surrounded by other kits. "Its fun, and I have no doubt your probably faster than me." She grinned. Ginger was a speedy cat, but she would act slow for Basil.
