where the heck? [o]

hollypaw grinned widely as he walked around the territory for the very first time- he had never been out before, so this was very exciting for the young cat. he couldn't believe that there was so much he was missing, just because he had never been allowed to leave camp. there were trees, hills, water, and lots of grass. so many fun places to explore!

glancing around at his surroundings with yellow-amber eyes, hollypaw suddenly spotted something very interesting to his left- he wasn't quite sure what it was, but it looked like it was probably built by twolegs. fascinated by the strange sighting, the young apprentice began to make his way towards the area, eyes widening when he saw that they were ruins.

curiously, hollypaw decided that he would go inside the ruins and have a look around, a wide smile on his face as he sauntered in, following different corners and directions as he explored without a care, until he decided to try and find his way back out...

the brown apprentice turned round and looked in the direction in which he had came, following it until he was cut off by a wall and choice of direction- which one had he gone before? hollypaw honestly couldn't remember... and that's when he began to panic.

-i'm pretty sure i don't need permission for him to get lost as he will find his way out eventually-

Fallenblaze was walking through the ruins when she saw another cat. As an apprentice she had memorized pretty much every last detail of the ruins, and she had been there so often that if she was placed randomly and only got a moment to look around, she could easily get out with her eyes closed. That was her though. She liked the maze because it gave her an upper hand over any attackers. The apprentice she saw was not an attacker though. The cat was probably out for the first time and was definitely lost. None the less, she treated him like one. Never trust a soul, much less your friends. That was her motto. Friends were just another way for someone to hurt you, and more often than not they themselves betrayed you.

"What are you doing here?" she asked wearily.

the sound of a voice didn't help hollypaw's panic and he jumped, letting out a loud shrill-ish noise in shock as he tried to look around for the source of the unfamiliar voice. he definitely did not know this cat, but just hoped that they were a clanmate- surely they were to have gotten in the ruins the first place right? maybe? or they were a rogue who had snuck in. he flattened his ears a little, but tried to stand up straight and puff out his chest in an attempt to look brave and distract himself from the fear.

"exploring," he said simply, not wanting to bother giving anymore information until he knew more about this other cat. he raised his head slightly and parted his jaws, sniffing the air for a scent. okay, this cat was treeclan, that was reassuring. hollypaw sighed softly, a small smile appearing although not for long, "what are you doing here?"

"If I said exploring it would be a lie at this point," she mused, "You can't exsactly explore a place that you know like the back of your paw, now can you?" she asked, tilting her head. The cat didn't appear to want to attack, and if he did he was currently to finicky to do much damage without her noticing his first move, so she relaxed a little. "I'm Fallenblaze."

hollypaw smiled softly when the currently unnamed cat showed themselves to not be a threat by replying back to him. he swished his long, dark tail as he shrugged at her question and tilted his head, the smile still apparent on his dark-furred face.

"it's nice to meet you, fallenblaze... i think," he said, feeling a lot more comfortable now that the black and ginger striped cat introduced themselves, "i'm hollypaw."

Fallenblaze simply nodded at Hollypaw's introduction. "Let me guess, exploring, forgot which door was the exit, started panicking?" she asked. "The way out is the center passages then two rights and a left. You made it further than most others without getting lost or turning back. Good job."

hollypaw nodded, face blushing in embarrasment, "yeah..." he said- apparently he was easier to read than he thought, seeing as cats already seemed to know everything about him from close glance. "umm, i'm gonna take that as a compliment, so thanks," he laughed slightly, following in the direction that he was told to go, "you coming?"

Fallenblaze tilted her head. "I would if I were you. Take that as a complement that is. It shows you have a better memory than them. That or you just aren't as stupid," she responded, nodding as she followed the apprentice. She considered saying not to come alone next time, but decided not to. This cat wasn't stupid. Once they got lost once cats didn't just come back again to "explore" more.

hollypaw smiled when fallenblaze decided to join him, "well, then thank you," he purred, stretching his limbs slightly as he walked, holding his head up high, "so, fallenblaze, what are you doing out here?" he asked, wanting to start up conversation as he began making his way towards the entrance of the temple where he had arrived through.

Fallenblaze shrugged. "I come here a lot. I've come here a lot since I found it as an apprentice. I don't know why, but it's comforting. Everyone should have a place of comfort. This is just mine." she responded.

hollypaw nodded, swishing his tail, "it'd be nice to have a place of comfort," he said, "but i think as long as i'm with my family then i'll be fine... i can't help but feel like others are judging me or giving me dirty looks behind my back, y'know?" he asked rhetorically, speeding up a little at the sight of the entrance.

Fallenblaze nodded. "I suppose most cats think that. But cats can betray you. Nature can't." she responded, shrugging slightly. She didn't comment on him thinking they judges him because she was biased on subjects on other cats. To her it was better for them to judge you because then you could already have a basis not to be surprised when you were betrayed.

hollypaw shrugged, "i don't think my family would betray me like that, but I guess you're right," the young cat mumbled the last part, looking around as he exited the ruins and smiled at the sky.
