hollypaw smiled softly as he flopped onto h's side in the near middle of camp, the sun hitting his dark fur and pleasantly warming it. He could hear the musical sound of birds singing and the steps and chatter of his clan mates.

letting out a loud yawn, hollypaw stretched out his dark limbs and rolled over onto his other side, expecting to be met by the soft feel of grass... but instead, he hit something furry and oddly shaped- paws. comically, hollypaw's amber-yellow eyes opened wide and he looked up at the cat he had rolled near, "sorry!"

akpaw had been standing and gazing at the birds singing in the trees. Since his training began, he hadn't had much time to relax and do the things he wanted. His life basically consisted of chatting with Midnightpaw, trying to memorize the warrior code, and learn new things with Squirrelbite on training runs. Though, for the past two days, he had woken up early to find Squirrelbite missing. He hoped she hadn't gotten lost in the Crumbling Temple, exploring it for him so that they could venture back together. He would feel quilty if that was the truth.

But Oakpaw was suddenly pulled from his thoughts as something warm and fuzzy hit his paws. He snapped his head down to see a younger apprentice, one who had recieved Swanbreeze as his mentor only a few days ago. His first reaction was to blink, then his mouth started moving faster than his brain. "Have you seen Squirrelbite? You are Hollypaw, right?" It was slightly stupid to ask. How would he know where the red furred she-cat went?

hollypaw rolled back over when the other cat began to speak, standing up to his paws and looking up at the speaker, flicking an ear at all the questions. "no i've not seen her and yes, i am," he said simply, looking around, "is that the only reason you came up to me? and how do you know my name?" he asked, feeling slightly uncomfortable. was this cat here to judge him? he could already sense the what-might-be judging from the tabby before him.

akpaw flicked an ear slightly, in a bit of annoyance due to the fact that his mentor had disappeared. He was worried, and he hoped he could keep it out of his voice and off his face. "Uh, no. I was standing here when you ran into me. But I watched your apprentice ceremony," he explained. The older apprentice held no expression in his voice, except for maybe the slightest bit of worry.

hollypaw flicked a dark ear and blinked his amber-yellow eyes, "makes sense," he said simply, although still feeling slightly uncomfortable. he tilted his head at the slight worry in oakpaw's voice, but didn't comment on it, instead waiting for him to continue.

akpaw was never one for words. He stood by and picked up conversations from other's body language and expressions, and he found that Hollypaw was a little uncomfortable, so he said slowly, "I'm Oakpaw."

hollypaw smiled softly when the tabby introduced themselves as 'oakpaw', "well, i guess it's nice to meet you, oakpaw," he purred, tilting his head slightly to the right, "i don't think i have to introduce myself," he chuckled.

hollypaw raised his brows before smirking, deciding he was getting a little more comfortable around this cat- they seemed nice anyway. he stood up and began to walk around oakpaw in circles, strutting slightly, "so" he started,
"what do you enjoy, oakpaw?" he asked, purring as he rested his head on the other's back/

akpaw felt slightly awkward as the other laid his head on his back, but he simply sat up a little bit so that his bony spine stuck out a bit more, then gave a small smile. "I like hunting, and I'm pretty good at fighting. But really, I enjoy studying the stars." He didn't care if he sounded like a she-cat saying that.

Hollypaw raised his brows when Okapaw changed position to make their spine stick out. He removed his head from the other's back and purred softly, letting out a small laugh and stepping slowly to sit infront of the tabby again, "Sounds pretty cool," he noted, smirking softly, "I, myself, can't hunt or fight yet but the stars are pretty nice... I get to see them a lot actually as I'm awake most of the night." He stated.

"We'll have to observe them some time," Holly offered, tilting his head.

akpaw watched the tom circle around him. "Yeah," he answered, trying to figure this cat out. He seemed as if he was trying to find ways to make fun of Oakpaw, but maybe he was just becoming paranoid. This is why he usually didn't talk.

Hollypaw let out a tiny giggle at Oakpaw's short answer, "Not much of a talker, huh?" He asked rhetorically, continuing with a smile, "Don't worry I can do most of the talking if you'd like," he purred, swishing his dark coloured tail as he playfully nudged Oakpaw's shoulder. "Do you wanna go out and do something?" Holly asked, standing up again and stretching, his rear end in the air. "Maybe you could teach me how to hunt or fight? If you want, that is."

akpaw eyed the cat with a strange expression. "No, I prefer to assess," he asnwered quietly, standing. He wondered temporarily if the cat had once hit his head, but waved it away. "You want to learn to hunt? Has your mentor taught you?"

Hollypaw nodded, lifting a paw and licking it as his eyes flickered across Oakpaw's fur again, "I guess, kinda... well, we've gone around the territory and looked at the borders but I haven't been taught much yet," he explained.
