Thor tore his gaze from the Bifrost, looking out towards the shining palace in the distance. He wondered who ruled Asgard now, if they were right for the throne. "I learned to like it." Thor answered, his mind elsewhere. Even though Thor's friend made it clear they were loyal to them and would protect him at any costs... he couldn't help but doubt them. Would they think him traitorous? For not returning? It had been almost six years; cats change.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki looked back at his brother for a second. He seemed lost, perhaps thinking about his friends. "I'm sure they'll still like you," Loki reassured, feeling quite different from the young warrior he had been when they left. He had changed, and so had Thor, but Loki hoped that Volstagg, Fendral, and Hogun hadn't changed as well. "They'll be glad to see you."
Then Loki directed his gaze to the calm waves. They never seemed to be more than calm, since every storm that had happened on Asgard had been caused by Thor. Loki stepped down and put a paw in the water. It was slightly warm, not cold like Midgardian seas. "We should go."

"They'll be glad to see you as well, you know. They're your friends too." Thor nodded, waddling into the water and sighing at the warm waves. Only Asgard, he reminded himself with a inside smile. "Come on." Thor motioned, swimming to the palace now.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki pushed off the rock and nearly dove into the waves, in one swift, elegant motion. He swam easily, until he came up on Thor again and swam next to him. The palace was a far ways away, and Loki wondered if they should swim to the Bifrost island and cross the rainbow bridge.
He turned that way suddenly, and explained his action after having done it. "We should find a way up to the Bifrost and cross the bridge. Less swimming is less energy wasted. The gatekeeper mostly likely knows we're near, anyway, and might help us. If it's still Heimdall, he'll help us."

Thor frowned but followed his brother anyway, not exactly happy to see Heimdall, if it was still him. The gatekeeper had ignored their calls, unless another force, a king perhaps, had ordered him not to let them return.
When they neared the beginning of the long bridge, there was a path of rocks leading upwards. He climbed up the rocks, making sure no one would be able to see them before jumping onto the rainbow bridge. Thor let his gaze stray from the light under his paws, towards the observatory at the end of the bridge. "Let's give it a try!" He said with obvious sarcasm, stalking towards the observatory.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki followed Thor up the rocks and onto the bridge. He smiled as it lit up beneath his paws. This was one of the many things he missed about Asgard.
Loki walked with Thor to the observatory, wondering who the new gatekeeper would be, or if it was still Heimdall. He hoped that they would be willing to help.
(( lets sounds less and less like Loki than ever ))

Thor spotted Heimdall, who had no doubt spotted them a long while ago. Heimdall may still believe Thor a cocky warrior, but he had changed, though he could still be a little arrogant.
Thor now stood in front of Heimdall, who was ignoring them and staring straight ahead. "Heimdall?" The tom asked, raising an eyebrow. No answer. "Heimdall??" Not even a blink. "Heimdall!" Thor roared now, in his face. Heimdall blinked slowly, before turning his head to stare at the brothers.
"Why are you here?" Though he looked somewhat relieved, disappointment and disgusted were good words to describe the emotion in his face. "We've come back home. After years of trying, we're here. Why wouldn't you let us come back, when we called you?" Thor couldn't help the anger in his voice.
"If you were meant to be here you would have been here six years ago, but you're a bit too late princes. A bit too late." The snarl in his voice disturbed Thor, nothing Heimdall had done ever before. He looked towards Loki, worry overcoming Thor's features.
((haha this sucks sorry))

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki placed a paw on Thor's chest as he heard the anger rising in his words, but he met Thor's eyes with a worried expression as he listed to Heimdall's words. His eyes said it all, 'something is wrong here.'
He then turned to Heimdall, since he had his back to him. He bowed respectfully, before standing up and stepping forward. "Heimdall, we do not understand. What has happened?"
Heimdall paused a moment, before answering Loki. "Ravenblaze, do you think you can sway me? Even if your silver tongue has improved, I can see far beyond what you can." He stood nearly perfectly still, but Loki caught every mistake. Like usual, Heimdall would stand so still, but he wouldn't talk the way he is now. And then, to clear up Loki's suspicions, he flickered.
"As I thought," Loki said, stepping forward and swiping a paw out. Heimdall flickered once more and disappeared in a green flare. "She's learned." Loki turned on his heels and began raging toward the palace as a storm began brewing overhead. "Your game's over, Leya." His gaze was fierce, and he had no doubt that his brother shared his same feelings when he saw the storm.

Thor's expression turned into a raging anger that he hadn't let out in a long while, but he had no control over it now. Leya, the power stealer, was teasing them with their powers. Now, as her illusion of Heimdall disappeared and a storm began rumbling overhead, there was no use of hiding their faces anymore. It was probably a sign, a warning sign, to whoever was in charge of Asgard now. Something was wrong, badly wrong with home. There may be a war brewing, and Thor just felt like it was his job to limit the casualties.
He raced after his brother, the illuminating bridge could do nothing to faze him now. Though the palace they were quickly nearing ahead was big and bright, a dark air settled around it. And Thor, he couldn't help but think Calista had something to do with this, or knew what was happening on Asgard. Maybe that was why she wanted them to stay so bad, and not to go back to their true home. Though she was his little sister, Thor felt he could trust Loki more than her.
They ran throughout the village, almost trampling the citizens going about. With Thor in his fury, the different faces all blurred to him, slowing down as he looked at the scared civilians. A crying kitten holding onto their mother, a scared looking young female, and expressions mixed with fear and worry and surprise. Loki and Thor had been gone so long, maybe it was their turn to be the stories Mothers told their kits at night, or warriors exaggerated to their companions around the campfire. The strong, brave, and arrogant Thor, and the sly, mischievous Loki; sons of Odin, gods of Asgard. Some of the greatest warriors to have ever lived.
And as these fairytales raced throughout their hometowns, it was no doubt they'd be terrified at the real life warriors.
Twists and turns, until they made it to the palace entrance. It was blocked, so they found a way to sneak into the courtyard. Memories of training as an apprentice, and then as a young warrior wanted to return, but he blocked them out. Revenge could ruin a person, his mother used to say, an eye for an eye will make the word blind. But Thor wasn't one for poetry, he took things literally, and Leya had taken more than an eye. She had stolen a part of him, and Loki too, and he'd make sure he'd return the favor if things weren't justified.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki and Thor padded at nearly the same pace; however, when they came to the village and Loki saw the faces of worry, terror and surprise, he couldn't help but cast his anger aside. He nearly shook himself to rid himself of the overpowering rage he felt a second ago. Thats not how he worked. He worked with the rage deep inside, like it lived with him, but it never surfaced. Thor, on the other hand, was a storm cloud. He had thunderous anger, and it was radiating off him at this very moment.
As they made their way into the palace, Loki was already ten steps ahead in a plan, but he wasn't ever one to share his plans. It made it harder when someone else knew, like he couldn't follow it anymore. It was strange, but thats just the way he worked.
They padded down golden halls and up shinningg stairs to the throne room, but once again, Loki placed a paw on Thor's chest and hid him behind a pillar before the guards could see them coming down the hall. "Brother, would it be smart to assume that Shadowbite is king, and he doesn't want to help us? You remember the way he was..." Loki had never liked the brash young warrior Shadow used to be, and he wondered how he'd turned out. If he was anything like Lightningstrike, Asgard would be collapsing at the seems. Maybe that's what was happening, and Cali knew it was happening, but Loki knew it would happen ever since he found the space rift as a young apprentice. It was just happening too early. Loki's brain started working on overtime thinking out a plan and all possible situations.

Thor slowed down as they made their way up the Throne Room stairs, but was halted by Loki. When they heard guards nearing, the brothers hid behind one of the tall pillars. "The way our encounter was with that darned cat, they must be working together; against us." He pressed closer against the pillar as the set of guards made their rounds, trying to calm himself down. He was only giving Leya what she wanted, and if he didn't keep his anger in check... Well, it wouldn't end well for anyone.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki nodded and watched as the guards passed, before he darted to the next pillar. "We need a diversion," he said. "Too bad that cat has our powers." He began to look around the hallway for anything that could draw the guards attention. "We can't burst into the throne room, however..." Suddenly, the idea came to Loki. He darted across the hallway quickly, to another pillar, and held up his paw as if to tell his brother to say put. Then as the guards passed, he began to sneak up behind them. There were only two, one for each brother. When Loki got close enough, he pounced on the guard and held his paw to the guard's throat, long enough so he would pass out, but not die.
Once the guard passed out, Loki took his helmet and cloak and put it on himself. He dragged the guard behind a pillar.
(( *secret spy music plays softly* and yes, they wear helmets and cloaks xD dont dwell on it too long or it'll sound weird ))

Thor watched his brother take out the first guard, and then copied his movements before the second guard could do anything. Thor put the helmet on his head and cloak around his shoulders, it was a little tight, but it would have to do. Thor threw the guard on top of the other, both unconscious behind the pillar.
Now, they'd have a reason to go into the throne room, or hang around the throne room doors.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki nodded to Thor. "Try not to... explode," he said with a smallest of smiles, before pushing open the throne room door. They padded side by side into the room, walking in the same manner that a palace guard would. Each step was perfectly balanced and measured at the same distance from one another. Their faces were regal, but Loki added a bit of worry into his eyes. However, the look faltered when Shadowbite stepped out from behind a pillar to the left, and came to take a seat on the throne.
Loki bowed deeply. His brain listed all the words he could say to Shadowbite, and all the things he could call him, but he ended up saying, "My Lord," Loki stood up to eye Shadowbite. "We found two cats unconscious outside your doors. We cannot identify them." His plan was to take Shadowbite off his throne and lead him someplace no one would see. Shadow would think he is in the protection of his guards, but as soon as the doors closed, he would get what he deserved.
(( oh geez I just got goosebumps. i was trying to figure out what loki called odin when loki was a guard, but i couldn't find it and ended up watching the scene where loki died. oh my gosh I'm tearing up the music AHHHHH ))

Thor kept his head low when he bowed, intently listening to Loki and whatever Shadowbite would say.
