FangShadow lay in a messy heap. His fur dull and tangled. His eyes having lost they're normal glimmer of joy. His mind plagued only with the thoughts of his beloveds Passing. It had all been to fast. If only he could have been quicker. If he could have taken the blow and not her.. if she wouldn't have been there at all maybe... just maybe. A sob racked his tired body. The images of her silver fur laying there helpless. Her eyes her perfect blue eyes being drained of their life. He lay in the dirt. Feeling bitter, sad, hurt, alone... so many emotions enveloped him he wasn't sure what one he wanted to give into as of now.
He let out a pained breath and stayed on the ground at his point the sun had risen and fallen roughly three times. He still couldn't find it in him self to move. He wanted to join her he had no reason to stay in this clan with out his ties. His now severed ties. His eyes opened briefly as a scent washed over him he wasn't alone. He frowned. AmberFlash was a dear friend of his... he didn't want her to see him like this. He let out a ragged breath fallowed by a croak. "Please.. Just-" he didn't know how to turn her away. He couldn't hurt her, she was dear and he knew well enough she was sensitive. "I'm.. I. I can't"

((OH AHAHAHA IM SO LATE IM SO SORRY
Amberflash had admittedly... Kind of gone off the grid for a long while. Lurking here and there, while generally avoiding social interaction. She still hunted for the clan and she hadn't been missing, hadn't disappeared like so many. She wouldn't... She wouldn't do that to her clan. To her friends. To her family. She wouldn't be that cat who didn't even say goodbye, who was that cat everyone else was left wondering... What happened? Never. She would never do that. She'd been on the receiving end of such heartache. Besides, despite her family essentially being full of hellspawn... They were family and they were here in Fireclan.
But now? The first cat she stumbles upon? Fangshadow, and he honestly looks half-dead. She sucked in a breath as she approached, her ears folded back. "F-Fangshadow..." She huffed. "You look like crap." It's not like she didn't know why. Silverwhisker was dead. His mate was dead. The white-furred she-cat had no idea who was the father of her kits, but... She knew for a fact that she wouldn't feel good if Rainlight literally died in front of her. She took a deep breath and walked over to him and laid down. "... When was the last time you had food and water?"

He stay laying on the earth like a corps. He stunk he was staved and quite frankly he was pretty sure he was seeing things. Must be because he had been avoiding water. Her question brought all those thoughts to his head. "Yeah well you haven't been around to see me otherwise.." his voice raspy. He let out a forced breath his eyes staring ahead. He couldn't look at her. "AmberFlash.. It hurts.."

((It's okaaay. Hope you don't mind if I bend timelines a bit to add more recent events in Amberflash's memories because I have zero memory of where her brain was when I first replied :P))
Amberflash forced herself to take a deep breath, even if it shook as she sucked in air. "..... Sorry. Not great with relationships, me." She murmured self-deprecatingly. She was never great at thinking well of herself, that had never changed. She sighed and looked to the sky. ".... Yeah. I know." She shook her head gently. "..... But you don't get to go out like this, okay? Y-You have to live. Just pick yourself up and... Get some food and water. J-Just stop d-dying for a second, okay?!" She couldn't help her sudden inability to keep her voice level.
"I don't want to let go of a friend like you just yet, okay?"

He flicked an ear knowing he was making her feel bad. Usually he would feel a pang of something and apologize. Now he was hollow and no emotion to work off of. He stared at the dirt. Thinking there are worse ways to go. However something stirred in him. Her voice held so much emotion. Pain. she was hurting and he was causing it. He didn't get up as she asked him to.. really because he was so ill fit he wasn't even sure he could sit up right now. The heat, and lack of nutrition had gotten to him. "AmberFlash. Tell me. Why should I get up? Why should I keep going?" he wanted to know why she thought he even had a reason to live. Really he was so tunnel minded right now.

Amberflash gritted her teeth and pushed down the urge to hit Fangshadow, in some desperate attempt to knock some sense into him. "You still have friends here." 'Like me.' She didn't add, since she thought that sounded self-centered and... She probably wasn't a great reason to live right now, considering she was yelling at him. "Your kids aren't dead. Your clan isn't dead. Besides...." She sighed. "I didn't really know Silverwhisker, but my Mom did. If she was a friend of my Mom's, I'm sure she wasn't the type to be okay with you killing yourself as slowly as possible just to be with her." She huffed.
".... I've lost things too, you know." She decided to risk sounding a little selfish. "I don't know where my siblings have gone, I don't know where my parents went. Most of my kits are dead or gone. I.... The only friend I had aside from you is gone. My grandchildren are all disappeared or dead." She sucked in air and took a deep breath. "... And I'm still here. So, if I'm not giving up, neither should you."

He closed his eyes laying very still as he wanted to flinch away from her yelling the movment though just seemed too tiring to attempt. His eyes didnt reopen as she said friends. kids. slowest way to die. He was about to retort with something like 'I guess i could make it faster.' He instead winced as she contuied he felt for her. He always had and most likely always would it stung... she had been through lots thats how they had come together in the first place. He felt his eyes water. A few lone tears trailed down his muzzle she was huritng.. she wanted him to fight.. he was hurting her, he remained unmoving silently letting the tears fall. "AmberFlash... I know you've been thought lots. I love and respect you for it." He paused intaking a shakey breath. "I-" he gave a dry throated cough. "I can't get up" he said his eye slightly opening. Looking embarrassed he sighed "When did you get so wise?" |

Amberflash looked down at Fangshadow, seeing tears stream down his face. She... Didn't have anything else to say. She really hoped she'd gotten through to him and convinced him to not off himself. Then he started talking to her. It was nice... To know that there was still someone around who'd willingly be nice to her. Her daughter had disappeared now as well, her son barely talked to her, and the less said about her grandchildren the better. She let out a weak smile. "Do you want me to help you up?" Then she shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe it's because I was really stupid when I was a kid and needed to smarten up and never stopped feeling like I just... Need to not make the mistakes I used to make." She admitted. She remembered the way she behaved as a kit and as an apprentice. It hurt when she saw her grandkids acting the same way, if kind of magnified by a lot. Maybe it was bad how intensely her mistakes defined her and her choices. She didn't care. She saw her mistakes in her past and she wanted to put her foot down and say no more.
If only her bratty grandkids would listen.

He listened to her his heart melting to her words. He needed to stay alive. If not for him he realized for her. She was hurt and he wasn't helping her. He sniffed slowly coughing in the process "Yes if you would." He attempted to sit up. His rugged pelt matted and knotted. He looked at her as he listened. "Amber we all made some poor choices as kids. Let's be honest it's what makes up who we are today. You turned out great.. your kids will come around" he said in a shallow voice. |

Amberflash looked at Fangshadow, worry shadowing over her eyes. He still looked like crap, but he seemed to be more alert than before. Was he slowly starting to get on the path of feeling better? She hoped so. She moved to help Fangshadow sit up, pushing him into an upright position. Then she shrugged. ".... I hope you're right." She replied.
