Rot looked at Asphyx sadly. The cat seemed to be really distressed. Words came out of his mouth before he could think, "But I haven't gone yet." Pulling away, Rot flattened his ears. What was he thinking?!? That he and Asphyx were good friends? They just met! "I am so sorry! I didn't mean, uh, that. If, um, I need to go, I will!"

Rot shrugged, "Depends..." Then his eyes widened, "But not to cats like you... I mean, well..." Why was he stammering so much? Asphyx was just another she-cat. Well, she is unique and different from other cats. After a slight moment, he continued, "I mean that you are... Well, nicer than some others I've met..."

Asphyx's eyes widened barely at his statement. "Oh, I am quite honoured. Thank you." Her eyes found the grass swaying before her, and her next sentence brought a hint of sadness into her uniquely blue eyes. "Where I come from, no one ever stopped to talk to me like you have. Asphyx kept her ears drooping, as she let out a small, "Oh." Then she took a moment to think, and in the silence, she added something else, "Maybe you should give them a chance. They might not be all that they seem. Some cats tend to like to wear masks, layers, and when you talk fiercely to them, they may just add more layers, lower the mask.
