DarkpawThe rain was always strange in Loudkit's mind. It both calmed him and scared him. Today was one of those rainy days. The small kit felt sick in the stomach, looking up at the sky, expecting the worse. Loudkit decided to stay in the nursery through the storm. While the tom sat there in the middle of the nursery, he slowly grew bored. He started making shapes in the dirt with his claws. As he did, he noticed another kit nearby. The tom smiled and greeted the other kit in a rather shy manner, "Hello..!"

Darkkit jerked his head around to face the other kit in surprise, his pale lilac eyes wary. Who was this? He frowned slightly but managed a reply. "Hi," He meowed, quietly, still unsure why he was being addressed. "Uh, I'm Darkkit." He added as an afterthought, making an effort to stay involved in conversation.
His ears were pricked in result of the rain hammering the nursery, but he didn't mind. The rain was the best weather, and Darkkit's long black fur left him able to blend with the shadows and keep him warm.

Loudkit was hesitant to continue speaking, seeing the slight frown. Did he annoy him? Loudkit lowered his ears a little, but kept a small smile on his face. The small ginger tom's claws dug into the dirt, and the kit spoke with an excited tone.
"Um... My name's Loudkit. Sorry if I'm bothering you... I just didn't have anything to do because of this rain and you seemed nice." Loudkit quickly apologized, his eyes darting around everywhere. Seconds passed, and Loudkit calmed down enough to continue speaking. "Um, so how are you doing?"

Darkkit twitched his ear. Loudkit... He rolled the name around in his mind, gazing at the other kitten with narrowed eyes. Weird. He flicked his tail and nodded when Loudkit said he was bored. "Oh, yeah I guess it is kinda boring." He meowed, ears pricked again as the rain intensified. It was exciting him more then he'd ever let on to anyone. "I'm good. Do you like the rain?" He asked hesitantly. He had picked up on Loudkits emotions and was careful not to upset him.

Loudkit stood staring at the other tom for a second or two before responding. "I don't really know about the rain. It's calming and nice, but I'm always scared a big storm is going to happen." The tom admitted, sighing slightly. Loudkit's fur relaxed and lied flat.
"Um... If I may ask a random question, you have an idea for a warrior name?" Loudkit asked Darkkit bluntly. The tom couldn't find really anything else to say.

Darkkit shrugged, Loudkit's blunt tone made him unwilling to speak with him anymore. "Darkfrost, i guess." He muttered bristling slightly. "What would yours be?" He turned at unleashed the full force of his gaze on Loudkit, hoping it was clear that if the kit wanted to speak to him, he would need to have a purpose and be very straight about it. No beating around the bush. Behind his bravo though, he was hopeful, wanting to really try be friends with Loudkit even though he was sure he had upset him.

Loudkit took a small step back at Darkkit's tone. He gazed at his paws, and looked up. He felt intimidated by the other tom's gaze. Still, Loudkit stayed. "I... I like the name Loudwhisper, or something like that." The kit couldn't think of good names for himself, so he just went with the best one. A little part inside Loudkit faded to sadness and made the tom step away from Darkkit once more.
"Again, I'm r-really sorry for bothering you! I don't really have anyone else to talk to, I can leave if you'd prefer that!" An apology flooded out of the kit's mouth. Oh Cloudclan, was he being annoying? This was a bad idea. Thoughts swirled in Loudkit's head, but the ginger tom stood silently, shaking nerviously.

Darkkit watched the sadness and uncertainty blossom over Loudkit's features, and he immediately felt horrible. "Sorry." He muttered, willing his fur to smooth. He was horrified at what he'd done. "Uh, no... please stay." He ventured, slowly. "Loudwhisper is a really nice name, by the way. It suits." He beckoned for Loudkit to sit down with him.

Loudkit slowly returned to reality as Darkkit spoke. The tom with still twitching in nervousness, paws shuffling in the dirt. "It's okay... And thank you very much, Darkkit." He said quietly, hesitantly making his way towards the other kit. The white and ginger tom sat a couple pawsteps away, feeling uncomfortable if he were any closer with an almost stranger.
Loudkit still felt sad on the inside, though it seemed to lessen. His could hear his heart beat with each raindrop that fell onto the roof of the nursery. Loudkit decided to speak so he didn't have to hear it too much. "Um... Darkkit, you wanna play I Spy or something..?"

Darkkit smiled a little, comfortable with the distance they had put between each others, still unsure what Loudkit's final reaction to his personality would be. "Sure, we can." Darkkit answered Loudkits question about I spy. "That sounds fun." He murmured, not minding that a trickle of rain was splattering onto his ear. He liked the cool touch.

Loudkit's smile started to fade back, he looked around the nursery. Assuming he was going first, the tom started looking for something. His eyes settled on a stray piece of prey, a brown mouse from what he could assume. Maybe other kit's pelts will throw him off? Loudkit shrugged, and started to speak.
"I spy with my little eye, something brown."

Darkkit tipped his head to the side, consentrating. He gazed around, still as he considered all that could be the answer. "Hmm, is it bark?" He asked, his pale lilac eyes curious. This was his favourite game, mostly because it wasn't a physical one, more a mental one.

Loudkit slowly shook his head, staring up at the roof of the den. "No. Nice guess, though." The tom was slowly calming down from his anxiety, his fur began to lie flat. Hopefully the game wasn't too hard. The kit would have suggested playing warriors, since he never played, but the rain ruined his plans.

Darkkit consentrated hard. "Is it one of the other kits?" He asked, eyes surveying the den. he turned back to loudkit. "i give up" he laughed, smiling.

Loudkit smiled and shrugged. "Nope, but extremely close." He chirped. When Darkkit said that he gave up, Loudkit felt guilty for winning the round. The tom awkwardly laughed along with Darkkit and gave away the answer, "It was the mouse over there. They were good guesses, though!.. Your turn!"
