Fall-ing into a conversation (open)

[Fallpaw]

Fallkit was laying on his back in his nest, sighing to himself in content as he relaxed. He lifted his head slightly, looking for other kits with his soft brown eyes, and then flopped back down, bored. He pawed the air, imagining he was fighting a dangerous warrior.

[Barkkit]

Barkkit' was also playing make-believe. She was pretending to hunt the legendary uncatchable rabbit of Treeclan. With her unprecedented skills, she would be the first to conquer it and provide endless food for the clan. She was crouching down behind a clump of grass, her prey in sight. Her haunches bunched up and she wiggled her rear a little before springing.
The nearly shapeless ball of fur tumbled through the air right at what was not a rabbit, but Fallkit. She impacted in a fuzzy heap with an "Oof!"

[Fallpaw]

Fallkit let out a surprised meow, batting at the other kit who had jumped on him with soft paws. He wriggled around and hopped out of his nest, gazing wide eyed at his attacker.
"What was that for?!" He squeaked, ears flat against his head. He was angry though, just a bit dazed.
He sat down on his haunches and blinked his wide brown eyes, his brown-black-white-and-gold pelt smoothing slowly.

[Barkkit]

Barkkit erupted into giggles as she tumbled off of Fallkit.
"You -- were a --rabbit!" she hiccuped as if that explained everything. She took a deep breath and bounced to her feet, stumbled, regained her balance, and began to hop around like a flea.
"Hi I'm Barkkit what's your name? Hey hey! D'you wanna play a game Do you know any games I don't know any games but I wanna play one!"

[Fallpaw]

Fallkit laughed, nodding at the quickfire questions that Barkkit asked.
"Sure, how about Tag?" Fallkit suggested, grinning. He was still laughing about the rabbit comment, because did he really look that much like one? He didn't think so!
Fallkit dashed up to Barkkit and tapped her flank with his white paw.
"You're IT!" He squealed, running off.

[Barkkit]

"Ooh what's t- hey! Where are you going?" Barkkit tried to race after her new play companion, but she ended up flailing in place for a few seconds before following in a sort of chaotic gallop. "How do you play?? WAIT FOR MEEE!!!"

[Fallpaw]

Fallkit laughed, eyes sparkling as he dodged Barkkit.
"You have to catch me!" He meowed, crouching and facing Barkkit before jumping away again.

[Barkkit]

Barkkit tried to slow when she saw that Fallkit was stopping. When she heard the goal of the game she squealed, "Again?"
Prey is so much harder to catch when it knows you're chasing it, she realized. But she was not deterred, and she sped up the only way she knew how: by flailing more intensely. The legendary Rabbit had come back to life, and she would catch it again!

[Fallpaw]

Fallkit laughed and sprang away, dancing to the side as he was chased by the excited kitten.
"Yep again. I guess I'm the rabbit again, huh." He meowed, staring down Barkkit and beconing her to give chase.
Barkkit is nice, we could be great friends if she wanted, he thought to himself before Barkkit came flailing at him.

[Barkkit]

"Yeah!!" she responded with glee. Fallkit already knew her so well. She felt her hopes rise as the distance between them once again closed, and decided it was time for another(literal) leap of faith. She bent her legs and launched herself forward with about the same grace and accuracy as last time, confident that she was about to have another success.

[Fallpaw]

Fallkit squeaked with surprise as Barkkit sprang at him, but instead of batting her away he made an excaggerated motion as if he had been defeated.
"The might warrior has taken me down!" He meowed, eyes shining with happiness. He rolled onto his back and drew his paws up, looking at Barkkit with pleading eyes.
"Oh, mighty warrior, spare me!" He pleaded, laughing.

[Barkkit]

Barkkit belly flopped onto Fallkit. "Hahaha!" she exclaimed triumphantly. But what was this, the rabbit was asking for mercy? She slid off backwards and landed on her bum, confounded by the moral dilemma. After a moment, she puffed out her chest and said, "I, being an honorable warrior, will let you go. But you have to prove yourself worthy. She stood up importantly, lifted a paw, and poked Fallkit in the side. "YOU'RE IT!" she screeched, skittering away.

[Fallpaw]

Fallkit let out an "oof" as he was belly flopped on,the wind knocked out of him.

After Barkkit had declared her honorableness and then tagged him, he hissd playfully and, with a yowl, raced after her. His longer fur swirled around him as the breeze gently blew. He was laughing as he scampered after the other kit, enjoying himself immensely.

He dug his paws into the ground and pushed himself quicker, gaining slowly.

[Barkkit]

There was a whole new thrill in being the prey instead of the predator, and hearing the thuds of Fallkit's paws getting louder. Her giggles and her heavy breathing were struggling to coexist, and her paws pushed more ground behind her than they ever had before. She didn't realize she was straying too far from the nursery until the last moment. She tried to make a hard turn and lost her footing, her momentum carrying her into a flying roll. She smacked into the wall of a den and landed belly up, stunned into silence except for her rapid breaths.

[Fallpaw]

Fallkit watched in horror as Barkkit lost her footing and skidded into the den wall. He stumbled to a halt and then dashed over to her side, nosing her and pawing her, words tumbling out of his mouth as he checked to see if she was okay.

Oh please please please be alright... He murmured half to himself as he watched her and tried to help her up. "Are you alright? Can I get you anything? Do you wanna lie down again?"
