Loki
Addie had abandoned everything that Brightwing was and what she associated with, which included Fireclan. After spending quite some time by herself, and managing to dodge a great deal of social interaction... She had a thought. She remembered Loki and well... She figured it wouldn't hurt to see him again. She ended up crawling the neutral territory, attempting to pick up scent. There wasn't too much need for tracking during her lifetime... Before... But she found that many skills exercised by clan cats tended to come somewhat easy to her. Well, easier than from what she'd seen of others. She eventually followed his scent trail to the plains, where it seemed pretty fresh. She imagined he was in the area somewhere. She ran across the plains and she called out to a dark figure. "Oi! Loki!"

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY A fresh breeze ruffled the leaves in the trees overhead, and a gentle creek flowed close by. Everything about this place was calming, peaceful, but for Loki, it was a place full of pain and sorrow. This was the spot where he first discovered his brother was in the area. He had been on a hunt here with his sister when the giant, gray tabby had decided to show up. The sight of the tom had filled Loki with anger, bitterness, hatred, confusion, worry, and pain. But now, Loki sighed into the wind. He would give anything to see his brother again. His bright face, his warm smile, his soft eyes; Thor was the complete opposite of Loki. Well, nearly the opposite, not completely.
Loki stood up with his ears flattened to his head, padding back toward the plains. Right out of the trees sat a small hill. On top of that hill, he had agrued with his sister not long ago. His brother had been at the base of the hill, unaware of them, minding his own business. Loki padded past the hill and stared at the spot where his brother had been. He even thought he could pick up a faint, old scent from his older brother.
He scowled and padded on, pushing his face through the tall, waving grass. His thoughts swirled like dark clouds in his mind, turning his eyes cold. After a little bit of walking, someone called his name. His head shot up, his ears perked. He was poised in complete silence, and turned his head to the left. There, he spotted Brightwing, and relaxed a little.
Loki's eyes narrowed a bit. What was she doing in the loner territories? Had she left Fireclan? "Hello, Goldy," he called. "I see you found me."

((WELP THIS IS LATE AS HECKIE
Addie watched as Loki's head perked up, showing that he'd heard. That was good, she supposed. Having to scream across the way in vain would... Honestly look kind of dumb, wouldn't it? He turned his head and seemed to lose some tension in his form. She wondered if he'd been in stressful thought, since last she saw him he seemed pretty... Loose and slippery in general.
She approached so she was... Well, actually at a normal distance to have a conversation with him. She nodded. "Yeah. It's Addie, now though. Trying to leave my past behind me." She said. "I've been out for a while... And well, you told me I could come find you if I ended up leaving." She hadn't elaborated on why she left exactly, and that was fine. There was also the manner of how she left... She left that out as well. It had initially made her feel a bit... Weird in a bad way. She'd pushed the feeling down until she could barely notice it. She didn't think it would be good to dwell on crap like that.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY "Addie..." Loki shrugged, naming it not as good as Goldy. He wasn't one to give nicknames, and this had been the first, and last, nickname he'd ever given. "I did," he answered one more, but it sounded distant. His thoughts still swirled, threatening to break loose. Control, it was what he'd always known was certain. His ability to control his emotions was the only thing he knew wouldn't leave him. But now, his mask threatened to break, and he would snap on a cat he had never been angery at in his life. He certainly didn't want that to happen.
"Its better to live in the present, anyway." Everything he said seemed to be far-off, as if for once, he wasn't thinking before he said something. This wasn't him. He shook his head the slightest bit, an ear twitching. Suddenly, he asked Addie, "Would you like to go on a hunt?"

Addie was no stranger to turbulent emotions. Her anxiety, anger, and general feelings of hurt often swirled beneath the surface. However, given that it seemed like no one ever cared, she learned to shove it down and hide it. Sometimes, she felt too exhausted emotionally to start screaming in anger. It was hard to explain sometimes how she felt sometimes... But honestly, it felt safer to feel... Not nothing, but maybe just... Less.
"Ah... I initially thought to call myself Adaline, but it sounds a bit... Formal for me. I'm not anyone that important-sounding." She elaborated. She eyed Loki briefly, before her watchful gaze dissolved into simple conversational eye contact. Loki was... Perhaps the last cat she'd interacted with before that hadn't resulted in their whole relationship going down in flames. Maybe it would happen later, but she supposed she would be used to it.
Almondfire and Aloepaw had burned their bridges before they'd even been built.
She and Willowspirit had tried to build their relationship as they were both burning.
She tore down her friendship with Mudclaw herself.
The chaos from her's and Willowspirit's relationship had bled into their friendships with Swanfrost, and that had gone down as well.
Her parents had never gotten to know her.
She never got close to anyone else.
She shrugged. "Sounds like a good policy." She replied. Then she tilted her head. "... Sure, why not?" Then she seemed to have a thought. "Just warning you, I've never hunted with a partner before."

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki seemed to have snapped out of his daze, and he swished his tail with a small, doubtful smile on his face. "You can't be serious," he said in a somewhat sing-songy kind of way, before starting their walk. "Its quite simple, easy even. I went hunting with my sister and... brother, before..." His sentence seemed to drop off, but he quickly shook it off. What was wrong with him? He never acted this way.
They padded through the tall grass, created waked of parted turf behind them. Gold strands rubbed against their faces, matching Adaline's pelt quite well. She nearly blended in, it was obvious she belonged here. "Around here you might find a lot of mice, rats, rabbits, field mice, also known as meadow voles, and birds. It's basically whatever you feel like eating at the moment, though I'm not exactly starving."

Addie smiled because if she didn't she thought she might start breaking out into hysterics. "Yeah, I'm serious. No one I could bother with a joint hunt, after you bothered eliminating all the cats who don't even know my name or would hate me too much to join in." Her voice was light despite her words. "I've always worked alone, so I suppose it was for the best I left." She noticed... A strange dissonance between the way Loki acted now and what she remembered from previous encounters.
She decided to not mention it. She tended to notice things that no one wanted to know.
She followed Loki through grass that had grown tall. She noticed the dying grass matched the color of her pelt. Huh. The prairie was still a vibrant green, for the most part. Different from the territory she'd left behind. "Ah. I see." She was most used to the taste of rabbits. "Neither am I." Though, she was used to eating mostly just enough to function properly.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki listened to her words. When she was done speaking, he suddenly stopped. "If you don't want to go hunting..." he started, before cutting himself off. His emotions were all over the place, thrown from one side to another. He wasn't being himself, overly friendly, not exactly cold. He was being... normal. A hiss threatened to rise up from this throat, but he pushed it down once more. Now wasn't the time, he could beat himself up later.
(( sorry for shortness, and i'm trying to figure out loki again. i've been gone for awhile and role-played dif chars in my absence. ))

Addie gave Loki a curious look, tilting her head as she stopped as well. "I don't believe I said I don't want to go hunting. I love to hunt. This is a new experience, and I don't feel like turning it down." She decided to continue on, as if she didn't notice Loki's problems. She knew he'd cut himself off for whatever reason, and she'd act normal anyways. He'd probably appreciate her not bringing his problems to the forefront.
She knew she would.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki started forward as he cast her a glance, heading out of the slowly-turning-to-green field. He was aiming for trees, but still stayed in the grass. There, they might find more prey. Just as he was on the thought, he smelt rabbit not far off. Without much of a thought, he crouched low in the grass and motioned for Addie to do the same. Then, she began to circle around the mammal, a plan forming. He suddenly leaped at it, and it darted away from him right to Adaline's claws.

Addie had really... No experience hunting in a forest, so she supposed she could be thankful for the familiarity Loki allowed her to keep in the grass. Then she dropped into her crouch, following Loki's lead. She smelled the rabbit as well, however she sensed that Loki had an idea. He ended up circling around the soon-to-be-fresh-kill and chased it into her claws. She immediately snapped its neck. Then she lifted her head and tilted her head. "... Significantly less chasing than I'm used to." She murmured to herself.

THEY CALL ME god of MISCHIEf, AND YOU SHOULD BE AFRAID Loki padded forward toward Addie. "You can have that, if you'd like," he said, looking off toward the trees.
(( sorry short ))

Addie tilted her head and then shrugged. "You going to leave? Need to know if I should bury this for later or not."

THEY CALL ME god of MISCHIEf, AND YOU SHOULD BE AFRAID "I have no where to go, I'm lost, far away from my home. I wish I could leave, but I cannot go anywhere." Loki gaze her a dull look, as if all the life had been stucked from him, and there wasn't much left.
Then he broke out laughing and said, "Sorry that was depressing."

Addie stared at him for a moment. ".... Loki. I was not referring to your tragic backstory. I was asking if you're going to leave this immediate area without me, or if you still wanted me to come with."
((this came out meaner than intended
