Soul was silent for a few heartbeats. "Well... thank you." She meowed when she was ready, hoping her voice didn't waver or anything. This was the kindest thing anyone had ever said to her. Ever.
Her mind was reeling, though. She kept telling herself she didn't deserve that, that she was too mean to others to have someone so nice like her and compare her to a friend. She kept all of this locked away, though it was trying to come free. She wanted to growl it at Ella, but she bit down hard on the words. No. She wouldn't do that.
"I, think you are really very kind. Kind to a cat who doesn't deserve it, which makes you even more so." She allowed herself to add, hoping it was so blatantly obvious. "I really hope you find your place in this world and have a perfect life with perfect people, as you deserve it." Soul didn't think the title loner - or even rogue - suited Ella, she wasn't meant to be alone.

Ella bit her lip and shook her head. "Even if I deserve that, they don't." she said, shaking her head again. She wasn't saying that in arrogance or anything, but more because she was scared of settling down and what that would do to those around her. She found that where she went, trouble tended to follow, and while she could outrun a fox chasing her, the cats with her couldn't, and she couldn't help them fight. Other cats didn't deserve her if she couldn't deal with the problems she gave them, and she was quite certain she would never be able to deal with them, so she would rather not settle down with other cats. It was safer for them that way. She brought herself back to realty and smiled warmly, "But you do deserve my kindness, esspecially as it seems you don't come across it all that often."

Soul had half givin up. This cat was much too selfless and and caring for her own good. It would end up with her alone if she kept at it.
"Thank you so very much, Ella, but look. You are putting yourself down for no good reason. I see though you, young one. I know how you see yourself as someone who will bring on danger and not be able to help anyone, but that's not true!" She meowed, angry. "Everyone who lives in the wild are signing up for a life of danger, otherwise what would we be, house cats?" She spat the name, then her eyes softened.
"I'm sorry, it's just that... I don't want you to end up like others I have heard of. Those who were as amazing as you, but ended up sacrificing their whole life for someone who didn't deserve it or didn't want it. I couldn't bare it if that happened to you." She murmured, trying to think of ways she could ask Ella to stay with her.

Ella tilted her head. "No, that is true." she responded, "I will bring on danger and not be able to help anyone with the problems that I cause. Everyone who lives in the wild knows how to fight, and they can defend themselves against their own threats, but it's not right to add my threats to what they are already dealing with." she responded calmly. "I see what you mean, and you should know that I'm not like any other cat. No one is, but I'm much more different. I may seem kind to you, but that's because you're not a threat. I live in the world of a naive child, and unlike others who do, I recognise that and can face reality at any time. I wouldn't give everything to someone who doesn't deserve it."
