Darkpaw , just so you know the title is completely random. Silverpaw stepped out into the clearing before dawn. She didn't acctually have to be up early since there was no training planned for that day, but she tried to push herself as often as possible, especially on days off. She ate a small mouse quickly before heading off into the territory. The snow was cold on her paw pads, but she had grown used to the cold snow against her pelt and the rocks that poked through the mountainous terrain. She stuck to the more rocky areas ussually so that she could get used to it. Sure, this had led to her slipping and falling her fair share of times, but she made sure every mistake counted for something. As she spotted a black shadow of a cat, she waved with her tail, opting not to walk up to the cat in case they were hunting or something and needed it to be quiet.

Darkpaw turned as a silver cat waved at him, stopping in his steps. He hadn't been hunting or anything, just having a bit of alone time.
He padded up to the cat, hesitant. "Uh, hi." He meowed, his slender willowy body smoothly moving as he approached her. He had filled out well lately, growing up from his small fluffy kit self and becoming maturer.
He gazed at the cat, and remembered her name from her ceremony. Silverpaw. "Oh, hey Silverpaw." He meowed, dipping his head.

Silverpaw gave a warm smile. "Hello," she responded. "You apparently know who I am, so might I ask what your name is?" she asked. She really didn't like it when other people knew her name and she didn't know theirs. She didn't know why, it had just always bothered her, and there was no specific reason for it she could think of. Very few cats even knew her. How did he know her name though? It was rather odd, unless he had met someone she knew or had been at her ceremony. After all, how many other silver tabby apprentices were there?

Darkpaw slightly smiled back at her. "Ah, I am Darkpaw." He meowed, flicking his tail. He turned his pale lilac eyes to her, trying to read her emotions, but not getting far. He'd have to practice more to be able to do it.
"What brings you out here?" He asked, ears pricking at each of the smallest noises - from tree's, animals, distant cats, etc.

Silverpaw shrugged. "I perfer to do domething on days off of training other than sitting around. "What about you?" (Sorry. short)

(no worries)
"Well, I do whatever comes to mind. Camp can get very crowded, that with all the new kits, so the territory is a great place for me to have alone and quiet time to think." Darkpaw meowed, shrugging.
"How is your training going?"

Silverpaw nodded. "That makes sense." she commented. "My training hasn't gone on that long yet. I've just toured the major landmarks, nothing else."

Darkpaw nodded. "The same for me, I haven't covered much either. My training is running at a slow pace." He meowed.
"Who is your mentor?" He asked, feeling as though Silverpaw didn't really enjoy talking to him. He didn't know though, because he wasn't overly fond of other cats anyway. Did Silverpaw want to do something else? Want to go? Darkpaw shrugged, not really giving it any more thought.
It wasn't his problem.

"Flightfoot," she responded, "I'm sure you haven't met her, but she's nice enough. She has enough qualities to be a good mentor, though I'm just judging that from the tour of the territory," she shrugged, "What about you? Who's your mentor?"

"Flightfoot... No, you're right. I've never met her. She sounds alright from your words about her." Darkpaw meowed, nodding. Maybe he and Silverpaw's mentors would tag up and have a joint training session one day.
"My mentor is Snowwhisper, the medicine cat. I am not becoming a medicine cat myself, It's just that there was no one else to take me." Darkpaw hastily told Silverpaw.

Silverpaw nodded, "Yeah, there are a few warriors around here that that's not surprising." she chuckled. "I suppose that's why we have to train even harder so that we can give Iceclan worthy warriors."

"Yeah, We have to make sure we can be great warriors to contribute and assist out clan. Having us try hard and become warriors will give the clan more of a chance and a better variety of mentors for future kits." Darkpaw smiled, feeling good with himself. It was nice to know that they were needed and would be valued.
"Do you want to mentor at all when you're a warrior?" He asked, knowing that she would be a great mentor. "I think you definitely should." He nodded at her, flashing a smile.

Silverpaw nodded, feeling that Darkpaw understood the side of her most other cats wouldn't even imagine exsisted.
She noddded once again at his question. "I think there would be no greater honor than passing on what I know to another cat. I also see mentoring as an oppertunity to gain more ideas, as every apprentice will probably see things in different ways."

Darkpaw nodded at Silverpaw's words, feeling sort of awed by the... relatability of what she was saying, and the perfect explanation of what Darkpaw felt.
"I really understand, I do. That is basically what I feel. I think that future apprentices will definitely do better off with those like us around to mentor them, as we are aware of what needs to be." He meowed, excited and happy that Silverpaw felt this way. Maybe they could become good friends, him and Silverpaw.
Darkpaw liked the sound of it, even though he didn't know what Silverpaw would think.

Silverpaw nodded. "Those cats who aren't really interested in training cats until their name is called to be a mentor aren't ussually the best at pushing each apprentice in the way that they individually need to be in order to become the bet warrior, and most of them are to loose and lenient. More cats like us to train others would definately be a good thing. And, until then, it is best to work as hard as we can to learn what we can so we can pass the extra knowledge on to our apprentices."
