Darkpaw nodded in agreement. "Yes, that is true. We must work hard for the future cats of Iceclan. Hopefully when we are ready to pass, we will be recognized for what we have done and will be able to take pride in the fact that our warriors will be great thanks to those like us."
Darkpaw flicked his ears, gazing at Silverpaw with his newfound respect and admiration for the she-cat.

Silverpaw nodded, then frowned. "Sadly though, a good mentor isn't all it takes for a good apprentice. Unless Cloudclan blesses you with willing apprentices, no one says they'll listen. They are, after all, spoiled until then and most would complain at all the work, and refuse to do it if you try to force them." she said. Maybe she was exsaderating a bit, but she would be surprised if her sister wasn't to stubborn to do the harder things her mentor assigned her.

Darkpaw sighed at Silverpaw's words. "Yes, that is true. Apprentices do take their training and jobs for granted. They don't yet full appreciate all that is taught and then learnt." He meowed. He would do anything he was asked by his mentor is it benefited the clan and others. He wasn't as selfish as to ignore others needs or to put himself first.
"Do you think you will have kits, Silverpaw?" He asked softly, wondering if she was planning on working her entire life. "Iceclan would be blessed to have your children in the clan, if they were anything like you." He told her, totally sincere.
On the other hand, he didn't think he would ever have kits, mainly because of the fact guys can't. He doubted he would father anyone because he wouldn't settle with a she-cat. He hadn't ever told anyone that though, not even his sister whom he was so close with.

Silverpaw shook her head slowly. "Even if I wanted to, I couldn't raise kits. I'm definately no mother, and I don't think it would be for the best if I tried to be one." she responded. "Maybe as a warrior I'll change my mind, but for now, no. I don't think so."

Darkpaw nodded, not quite understanding the she-cats thoughts, but still grasping the general idea.
"I see, well anyways, the clan has you right. And It's not like I'm gonna father anyone so, yeah. It doesn't really change anything." Darkpaw shrugged, cutting off the rest of whatever he might have said.
"Only time will tell what choices we will make, we can't decide now. The best thing to do it to just go along with out paths and when the time comes, make decisions." Darkpaw meowed, zoning out a little as he gazed at a unseeable point of space.

Silverpaw nodded hesitantly. "We must follow our paths, yes, but we also must forge our own paths. Following your path blindly will get you where you're meant to be, but if you want to become what you want to be, you have to carve your own path, and you have to keep pushing no matter how hard your new path becomes."

Darkpaw tipped his head to the side as Silverpaw spoke. "Hmm, yes. That is also true. Though for some cats they don't know what they want to do yet, and so they just follow their paths to see where it leads them. If they try to force something that is not meant to be, it can result in bad outcomes."
He murmured, attention darting everywhere. He watched as a few leaves swirled to the floor before moving to stare at a song bird trilling on a branch nearby.

Silverpaw reluctantly nodded as she saw the songbird. "Do you know how to catch those yet?" she asked. Having had not learned anything at all save for where the major landmarks were, she wasn't really able to have any hope at hunting, but maybe Darkpaw did."

"No, sorry. I've only really learnt how to do the crouch, nothing more. We toured the territory and talked about the other clans. Tomorrow, I am learning to fish and to pounce." He offered, half smiling sheepishly. Silverpaw probably could hunt it, though Darkpaw was just admiring it at the moment. He didn't really want to eat it...

Silverpaw nodded. "I haven't even been to the borders." she responded. She really didn't know why Flightfoot hadn't brought her to those two on her first day of training, but she supposed going slow and being thorough was only for the best.

Darkpaw nodded. "Well, I did know quite a bit, so I helped Snowwhisper along. I also picked up what she told me quite quickly, so there was no time wasted. I made sure that I tried my hardest and didn't give up at any point, and I will do the same tomorrow and the next." He meowed, trailing off as he thought maybe he had spoken too much.
"Anyway, what do you like to do in your spare time?" He asked, curious. He knew only that he did nearly nothing while alone, so it would be nice to know what others did. "Do you have any relatives in Iceclan?"

Silverpaw nodded in agreement with all that Darkpaw said. "In my spare time?" she asked, "Well, half the time now that I'm an apprentice is out here practicing. I am Minnowfin's kit, and I have one sister, Blazepaw. The other half of the time, I probably spend with them. Blazepaw is a bit... energetic though. I don't think I could make it through a full day with just her around."

Darkpaw nodded as he listened to Silverpaw. "Yeah, practicing has become a very regular thing for me also. I only got along with my sister for a bit, but I made her upset and I'm pretty sure she doesn't like me anymore." He murmured.
Then he laughed. "Too energetic? He he, well I guess I wouldn't last long with her either."

Silverpaw tilted her head. "Is she an older or younget sister?" she asked curiously.

"She is younger than me, hasn't had her apprentice ceremony yet, though she is old enough." Darkpaw told Silverpaw, sadness washing through him. Why did he have to be such an idiot by hurting her... She had been his only and best friend.
"Her name is Asterkit."
