'Darn, the stars are so pretty. How can they be so pretty? Even I can barely compare. Dumb stars,' He mused to himself silently, head poked out of the nursery and turned upwards. His eyes were wide. Lionkit had never really appreciated the night-time sky before; he preferred being awake during the day - to have someone to brag to, to play with. Sleep seemed to elude him tonight, however, and so he'd eventually resigned to his fate; he'd either lay there listlessly, wake up his siblings (who'd probably claw him for waking them up), or stargaze. After a couple of minutes, he decided it wasn't so bad. A bit boring, considering he wasn't a very deep thinker, but pretty. He was so taken back by this new spectacle that he didn't even realize that someone else had woken up, nor did he really register the sound of paw-steps coming his way. Just the stars. So many stars. Dustkit was watching Lionkit, feeling like he was seeing Lionkit's true inner being. Under the golden furred toms bravo and self centredness, he could see this new side easily while Lionkit thought he was alone in the night.
He clambered over Sandkit and a few others as he padded softly over to his brother. Lionkit didn't seem to notice him, but he didn't mind. He moved so he was sitting next to Lionkit, so close their fur brushed when he breathed.
"They are so beautiful, hey." He murmured, turning his eyes to the stars as Lionkit's were.

As soon as the kit made their presence known, Lionkit gasped sharply. He quickly whirled his head, suddenly aware of how dark it was, and sighed when he recognized the grey fur of his brother. "Oh, Cloudclan, it's just you. Jeez, you were so quiet I didn't even hear you." He swallowed, and said, "I didn't wake you up, did I?"
He took a moment to breathe (it wasn't like he was scared out of his fur or anything), before looking back up at the stars. "They sure are! To be honest, I never used to understand why some cats would stay up so late. I thought it was weird, like, isn't night-time for sleeping? I dunno, being the only cat awake just seemed really lonely." He shrugged. "Obviously I was missing out."

Dustkit smiled at Lionkit's shock. "Yeah, just me. Don't worry." He meowed, shrugging. He didn't mean to scare his brother, but it was kinda funny. "And no, you didn't wake me up. I woke up myself, and I have been awake for a while."
"Everyone appreciates the beauty of stars, no matter who is is. And staying up late is actually fun, but reasons for staying up are always different - sometimes it's hard to fall asleep, sometimes you are being an idiot and are going to make trouble, or something. I don't think it's ever lonely." He murmured, almost to himself.
"You weren't missing out, you just didn't know." He reassured Lionkit, tail tip flicking. "I have been out watching stars more than once before." He admitted. "It's good you have finally done it."

"Oh, that's good then. I think. " He said quietly, wondering just how long Dustkit had been awake for, and how Lionkit himself didn't notice. Sure, his brother would probably blend in more easily, but had he just been sitting there?
He looked back at Dustkit, somewhat surprised brother had actually responded to his random babbling. With even deeper babbling. "Well, you'd have to be a complete mouse-brain not to appreciate the stars!" He paused, before lowering his voice down to a whisper. "And... I dunno, it's just weird not even having someone else to talk to or admire me. We could take a quick walk, and nobody would know. Isn't that kind of scary?"
Judging by his brother's comments, Lionkit wasn't surprised to hear Dustkit had done a few stargazing exercises himself. He grinned, swishing his tail around at the positive comment. "Yeah, I guess it's about time. I didn't even know that you woke up at this time, though. Obviously you're gonna be super stealthy when you grow up."

Dustkit nodded at most of what Lionkit said, only pausing to roll his eyes when his brother told him he thought it was weird having no one to admire him. He didn't think Lionkit saw it though because it was quite dark, but you never know. Lionkit may have felt him do it or something with an extra sense he probably has. (XD)
"Yeah, ookay." He replied to that statement. "Yeah, we could leave even for a bit and no one would know... but... why should we? We have everything we need and love here. I would never give it up." He told his brother.
"Well, I like to view that as one of my specialties. Being super stealthy." Dustkit admitted, shrugging. "I actually do that a lot..." He trailed off, leaving that suggestive comment to hang in the air for a few seconds.
"What do you think your specialty is?" He asked, curious. Would Lionkit say his looks, or his fighting skills, or something else entirely?

Lionkit had practically glued his eyes to the stars, quietly confused as to how Dustkit hadn't even given a single cocky comment. If he was more observant of the world around him, he might have caught the eye-roll, but alas, he remained clueless. (lmao)
He widened his eyes comically at Dustkit's reply to his question. "I definitely couldn't give this up either... I wasn't saying we should just leave and forget about Fireclan. Definitely not now, anyway." He tried to keep the relief out of his voice; despite his best efforts, there were always going to be things he was scared of. Right now, wandering out in the dead of night was one of them. His tail twitched. The air was silent for a few seconds as Dustkit revealed his thoughts on stealthiness.
Lionkit narrowed his eyes suspiciously at his brother, before speaking up. "Really? Are you trying to hint at something here? Have you been spying on your dearest brother?" He tried to sound serious, but his eyes shone with amusement. At his brother's question, he seemed to pause in thought before answering.
"Apart from my gloriously good looks, I'd like to think I would be a good fighter."

Dustkit laughed at Lionkits words about him spying on his 'dearest brother'. "Yeah, duh. What else would I be doing with all my spare time?" He meowed, scoffing. He couldn't keep the snort of laughter that escaped though, and soon he was chuckling, though it was very softly, because he was trying to keep it from Lionkit.
"Just kidding." He meowed when he had recovered.
He had to roll his eyes at Lionkit when he said about his 'gloriously good looks.' "Thought so, see, your physique is very large so you have power, and you are well muscled. You also have thick fur to deflect blows from jaws and claws." Dustkit meowed, smiling sorta. His brother was cool.
