Fennelpaw was still getting used to his new nest. It was odd for him to have his own nest completely, not surrounded by any siblings or his mother. It felt... Empty. His small, round frame made him still appear to be a kit, even though his golden pelt was starting to look and feel less fluffy and soft.
He had gotten used to being outside, though. Not that he wanted to be outside now. Fennelpaw stared at the entrance, blue-green eyes showing that he was uncomfortable, on edge.
Worried about getting too nervous, and having a hard time concentrating later, he glanced over the Apprentices' Den and headed up to the first cat he noticed, familiar or not.
"H-Hi. This is a pretty big den, I think. It seems big. Having my own nest is weird," he said quickly, shifting his paws. "Do you like yours? Your nest, I mean." He didn't know what to say, heck.

Dustpaw had been grooming his grey and brown tabby fur as he sat in his nest, reviewing and reminding himself of what he had been doing in training.
He heard paw steps padding up to him, and he turned as a fluffy golden apprentice approached him. Dustpaw smiled at the tom, amused, as he babbled about the den and his nest. Deciding not to say anything, he just listened.
When he asked if Dustpaw liked hi nest, Dustpaw nodded, chuckling. "Yeah, I mean, it IS a little weird not sharing a nest with my siblings, but if makes me feel more grown up." He meowed, casually. He looked at the tom cat. "What's your name?" He asked. "I'm Dustpaw."

"Good! Good. I'm F-Fennelk-paw. Fennelpaw, because I'm an apprentice now. I um, I actually think you're one of my brothers? I-I'm not sure." He stared at his paws. Stupid, what kind of a question was that? Of course he'd like his nest. Who wouldn't?

Dustpaw smiled as he notice that Fennelpaw was about to say Fennelkit. "Hard habit to break, isn't it." He grinned. When Fennelpaw said he thought Dust was one of his brothers, Dustpaw grinned wider.
"Yep, sure am. Did you forget me?" He joked *coughhetotallyknewthiscough*, trying to lighten this tom and bring out the happy, fun and open cat inside, which seemed to be his specialty.

Echopaw had been grooming herself in her nest, just feeling satisfied and clean when her ears perked at the sound of voices. Of course, apprentices talked all the time, but the den had been unusually quiet for a few minutes before. Turning blue eyes onto the pair, she heard their conversation, before grinning and trotting over herself.
"Maybe you two will get your warrior names together." she offered with a kind smile. Although she felt a cold thorn in her heart, a little envious these two brothers had that opportunity. "Mind if I join the conversation? I'm Echopaw, by the way. And I am definitely short on friends."
