SoulCleo was new to the area. After her parents both died she had gone as far away from what had been 'home'. She had no interest in staying somewhere with so many memories. Upon realization that she was completely, and utterly lost, Cleo decided to just go with the flow. Could you really be lost without a destination? Probably not. A small smile played at her lips as she happened atleast a dozen grazing sheep. She had grown up around farms, and she found herself feeling at home amongst the fluffy creatures. She mingled between them, keeping herself low as to not startle them into a run. She made it out on the other side of them, deciding to lay down for a quick nap. Just as Cleo had made herself comfortable, a whiff of another cat hit her. Cleo perked up from her laying position, her body nearly completely relaxed. "Hello?" She called out softly, her tone friendly and calm.

Soul had been trudging along the grass, the warmth of the sun warming her long pelt. Today she was in an okay mood, she guessed... Though the fact that she had been lonely for the last few days made her a little surly.
Suddenly, someone meowed a hello. Huh? Who was this? Soul had not met this cat before by the scent. "Hey." She meowed, and then located the voice. It was a she-cat, and a young one too. She padded over to the cat on the grass, skeptical. "You know some that live around here aren't friendly." She muttered, looking at the cat.

Cleo purred, brushing down her fur to make herself look more presentable. The cat seemed willing to converse, and that was good enough for her, but she did notice her hesitance.
"I haven't met them yet." Cleo smiled, her heavy French accent lacing into the words. The feline in front of her was the closest cat that resembled 'unfriendly', and she could handle her.

(beautiful profile image btw)
Soul bristled slightly as the cat brushed her fur down, making herself presentable. Was she one of those cat... Soul grimaced before shaking her long fur out.
"Well, how about me." She muttered half heartedly, annoyed at the accent. Souls accent wasn't special, just a normal one. "You mustn't have met many cats here, then, kid." She grumbled, glaring at the smaller she-cat. She was guessing their age gap wasn't very much, just a few years maybe.
"I'm just saying, watch out, okay." She meowed, a glint in her eye. Soul admitted today she wasn't in a good mood, but she wasn't angry so that was good, she was just annoyed and that meant she wouldn't rage or lash out unless pushed to her limits -which were small.

"Well how about me."
Cleo shook her head lightly at the felines words, smiling. "I don't think you're very unfriendly. Reserved, yes. But not unfriendly." She had gone back on her previous thoughts, now that Soul had talked more.
"I'm not a kid." There was no hostility in Cleo's voice. She wasn't offended in the slightest, she was simply correcting her.
"Thank you for your concern, but I'll be alright." She was genuinely thankful. Soul's concern for a stranger just proved that she wasn't unfriendly.

Soul raised a fictional eyebrow as the she-cat shook her head and protested to her words, saying soul was only reserved, not unfriendly.
"Also, yes you are a kid." She muttered, grumbling. Who was this cat anyway, because she was sure annoying. way to ... genuine. and way to trusting.
She wouldn't last long unless she changed a bit.
When she thanked soul for her concern, Soul snorted, rolling her eyes. What even was this cat. Was soul being concerned? She didn't think she was... she hoped she wasn't softening up just cause this cat was younger than her...
"Who are you anyway."

Cleo softly shrugged at the cat saying she was in fact a kid, still smiling. Perhaps she was. She wasn't even sure of her exact age- it never mattered much to her.
"Oh, I'm Cleo." She purred, standing up and stepping closer, tail flicking in a friendly manner. She absolutely adored introductions, for no particular reason. "I guess I'm kind of new to the area." She added, thinking that the cat might trust her more if she gave more information.

Soul raised a fictional eyebrow as the cat shrugged, still smiling, and then went on to introduce herself as Cleo in a purr, rising to her paws and moving closer to soul.
This randomly set off soul and she jerked back a few steps, fur bristling slightly. Cleo said she was new to the area and soul calmed herself, but remained where she was. "Oh, well I've been here a while. I'm... " She hesitated not really wanting to share, but decided she maybe could... how much could it hurt? "I'm Soul."

(All gooood)
Cleo was rather hurt by the way Soul jerked back, watching the felines fur rise. She let her emotions show clearly on her face, taking a step back. "Sorry..." She stated softly, sounding truly genuine. She didn't know what she was doing wrong, but it seemed every cat she met had an instant disliking towards her.
As the cat moved on to introducing her name, Cleo allowed a smile on her face again. "Soul. That certainly suits you. It's a very pretty name." She complimented.

(Im sorry AGAIN)
Soul saw the hurt that had flashed across Cleo's features as soul had jerked back, but was rather indifferent to it. She prefered to block out other cats emotions. When Cleo apologised softly, Soul shook her fur in a dissmissive way, meaning it wasn't cleo, it was just soul was not used to it.
When her name was complimented, Soul blinked, unsure of what to do. It had been long since she had last been compliment or had anything remotely nice said to her - probably since she was a kit. "Uh. Thank you.?" she half muttered, more of a question.

(Now I’m the one who’s sorry)
Cleo chuckled softly in amusement, eyes glimmering with kindness. “You’re welcome.” She purred, stretching her front paws out softly in front of her, letting her stomach brush against the cool grass.
