Sunsets were, by far, some of the most beautiful things Rose has ever witnessed in her life.
The young Siamese was perched atop of a rock jutting out of the plains, tail sweeping out below her, watching as the sun became a mere memory of the landscape, remembered by the reds and oranges and yellows that spilled out before her. The darkness saw its chance and seized it, setting in on the far side of the horizon, flowing slowly closer and closer to overcome the last bit of glowing light.
As stars began to light up the sky, Rose dropped down onto the rock, stretching out on her back, seeping up the little bit of warmth that the rock still remembered from the sun. Not that it was cold, anyway; a small breeze drifted through the grass, but it was a nice, ambient temperature.
Her ear flicked as she heard the familiar rustle of a cat's paws in the grass, deep blue eyes glancing over at who it might be.

Calista had been withdrawn into herself recently, and she didn't want to talk to the cat that she had walked past, but she was operating mainly on instinct, and her instincts had been molded into those it took to be a queen, so she turned and faced the other cat with a warm smile that she managed to pull from somewhere in the depth of the pain that seemed to be her now. "Hello," she greeted, not at all halfheartedly, "How are you today?"
(Sorry, this is short.)

Her eyes settled on another she-cat, and she was even graced with a warm smile. A little bit of Maleficent overcame the Rose and she dipped her head graciously as greeting.
"I've been very well, thank you," she meowed, almost emotionless, but not quite. She resisted a tired sigh and forced a twinkle into her eyes.
"I'm Rose. And who might you be?"
She had never seen this cat before, which surprised her, as she didn't expect many cats to roam these plains.
NOTES ; that's quite alright !

Calista gave a small and clearly fake smile. "Its alright, you don't have to pretend to care about this conversation. I'm Calista." she said. She hadn't seen this other cat around, but, then again, she hadn't really cared to check who was around her recently. "I'm sorry, how long ago did you get here?" she asked. It couldn't have been that long ago, she wasn't a walking zombie for more than a few moons.

two enormous black wings Rose dropped her smile almost as soon as Calista gave her the go-ahead, instead settling into natural hooded eyes with no false grin.
"Rose," she stated her name when the other she-cat did.
"I've been around these parts for a bit over a moon," it seemed like longer, but Rose was rather dramatic.

Calista nodded. "A moon? Then you probably know your way around already. I have been here a few seasons, but I wan't... around recently," she said, carefully picking the word 'around.' Saying she was on the verge of depression and avoiding human (cat?) contact for the past few moons wasn't exsactly the best option. "Nice to meet you though."

two enormous black wings "Pleasure's all mine."
Her voice was dry and cold, though it was indiscernible whether it was out of sarcasm or that her voice was simply that tortured. At the she-cat's words, she tipped her head ever so slightly.
"Why not?" she questioned, eyes blank of emotion but her voice steady and strong. "Doesn't seem like a bad place to be around."

Calista nodded slowly. "It's a wonderful place to live." she agreed, "But it's never that simple. In all the wonderful places I've lived this was one of my favorites though." she added. It was true enough. She had been to quite a few other homes that were a bit nicer, but she wasn't allowed in any of them anymore. She had been banned from quite a few places for many different reasons, none of which were her fault. Ok, well one was her fault because she faked her death, but the others were just coincidences.
