Although it was late enough for the moon to have begun its descent, Redfang found himself wandering about the territory, moving from border to border, taking his time and enjoying the cool night air. He'd always stayed up late, and the freedom of warriorhood allowed him to vent his restlessness however he pleased. He hadn't really set out to hunt, but he trusted his senses to warn him should the opportunity to do so present itself. As he crested a small hill, he caught the scent of another cat; he recognized it instantly as belonging to a FireClan cat, and a moment later realized it belonged to someone he knew. The corners of his mouth tugged upward into a smirk, and when a heartbeat later the silhouette of Fadingnight came into view he called, "Don't I know you?"

The former Treeclanner was making her rounds, her nightly stroll. It was so much better than being out in the midday sun on the rolling prairie of Fireclan; although throughout the next few moons she would have to be out during the daylight hours. Recently the warrior had gained her first Fireclan apprentice, even though Fadingnight herself had never actually been trained as a Fireclan warrior.
Only to her surprise she wasn't the only warrior out during such hours, in fact she was quite startled when the silver tabby heard another voice. A familiar one at that thankfully.
Adding a smirk equal to that of Redfang's she mewed, "Of course you don't," her tabby tail flicking behind her with amusement as she trotted down to the rusty-colored tom, "who would want to have been acquainted with a former tree-rat."
Coming to a halt before the other feline she added, "Long time no see Red, what's new? ... and frankly, what are you doing out here at this time?" Her tone was not at all hostile, more of a banter due to the fact she had never known any other warrior to roam the territory as late as she did.

"Same old same old, Fadingnight," the russet-furred tom replied, his smirk never leaving his lips. "As for what I'm doing out here... well, that's a secret," he added with a conspiratorial wink to go with his mischievous grin. "But enough about me," he went on, flicking his tail out briefly to tap Fadingnight's shoulder. "Been in any rivers lately?"

Redfang had never been one for straight up answers, always leaving room for assumption; good ole' Red. After his responses to her questions he spoke one of his own, this being about her being in any rivers of late; and of late she hadn't. As an apprentice or was it a kit... she couldn't remember but she knew at one point she had been in one. Since then, no. "No, not recently." She mewed, turning away from Redfang and beginning to pad down to the water's edge.
The river couldn't have been deep at all at this time in the season, it had been much too hot for much rain to fall. Hesitantly she touched the cool liquid, running a claw through it and feeling its icy touch throughout her entirely body. "Nope. Not recently."

(sorry for the late reply, was camping for a few days ~)
Although the sun had long since set, the day's heat still remained and Redfang had been tempted to suggest they wade into the chilly river water to cool down a bit. Every time he had this idea, however, he wound up regretting it; his thick fur tended to stay damp for far longer than he preferred. So, with a quick dismissal of the thought, he focused his attention back on Fadingnight. It was good to see the she-cat; they got along well, and the ruddy warrior considered her to be one of his close friends. With a characteristic grin once again on his muzzle, he said, "So, since we're both out and about already, would you care to join me in a hunt?"

So Redfang didn't want to swim now, what a bummer. Fadingnight stayed in her position a bit, facing the water but craning her neck so that she was side-glancing at the other warrior; amber gaze glinting with mischief as she spoke. "Not even a little swimming?" The silver tabby mewed, her voice sounding as innocent as a kit's as dripped from her fangs. Splaying her paw wide open she struck the water, attempting to send it in the rusty colored tom's direction.
With haste she turned her figure now so she was facing him, long fur blowing like waves of grass on the gentle breeze; although again her gaze told an entirely different story. A smirk crossed her jaw again as she took a step back, her hind-paws now submerged in the water. Tingles ran up her spine as the cool liquid soaked into her fur, "The waters' fine."

Although she wasn't subtle about it, Redfang was still caught off guard when Fadingnight splashed him; it didn't have much of an effect, with much of the splash dissipating in the air, but what little managed to land on him sent a shiver through his body. With a mischievous grin that matched the silver tabby's, and droplets of water hanging from his whiskers, the ruddy warrior didn't waste time with banter; he simply acted. He thought about tackling the she-cat into the water, but decided that this was simply a quicker method of getting himself even more wet. Instead, a heartbeat before he reached the shore, he leapt. He landed in the water perhaps a tail-length from the bank, and the force of his impact sent a spray of water out in all directions; he'd made sure to land close enough to the other warrior to be fairly certain that she'd been splashed. Although this method still served to soak him just as thoroughly as if he'd gone with his first idea, he found he didn't much care; he turned a gaze brimming with mischief on Fadingnight and, in response to her last statement, said, "It is, isn't it?"

So her splash hadn't really managed to do much at all, a very ineffective attack; and Fadingnight barely had any time to think before Redfang acted. In fact he had acted so fast she almost thought that his returned splash was entirely instinctive. The wave of water that shot out from the sides of his paws towered over Fadingnight, completely blocking out the light of the moon for a split second and drenched her in not only liquid but complete darkness. In the end not only had the other warrior managed to drench Fading, but he had also managed to send her into 3 seconds of eternal darkness. He had definitely one-upped her, by a long shot.
By the time the silver tabby had managed to recover she had drug herself out of the water, shaking herself to at least get some of the water out of her thick fur. Turning her gaze to meet Redfang's she mewed, "Okay. Okay. You win."
Being drenched practically transformed the she-cat, her pelt now sticking to her frame. One could now see her mixed features; her long legs for running that she had gotten from her father, and her awkwardly muscular back-legs she had used for jumping and climbing back in Treeclan. So in other words, her entirely front was lean, while her back end was thicker and more built. Fadingnight was quite the character.
