I would just like to point out that Dove is dead. I will roleplay the first part of the thread as Dove and the rest as root (her daughter/reincarnation)! UNLESS you want Dove to also roleplay, just let me know! c:
It was many moons since the silver tabby passed away, and she was always called back to the pine forests as much as she would have preferred returning to Fireclan or Iceclan. Deathclan was a home to her, but it just did not really fit her. Why did she choose to stay in the clan and rise up as leader? Because no one else had the guts to and they were dying without Drought's leadership. So she had to do something. From above, the spirit watched the band of rouges, and was disappointed. Sure, Deathclan started rising up to their name, but it still was not how she envisioned things to be. Where were the cats that she remembered? Jude. Dead. Natalia. Somewhere. Pain. She did not know. And many others, but she did not care about them right now.
What mattered was the little cat that she was bringing into the clan. The lost daughter. Her salvation.

Root squeezed her way back to Deathclan territory, having explored the twoleg neighborhood a bit earlier. She was so intrigued with how nice the kittypets were to her. They even offered her their food and the way the twolegs called her by clicking their tongues was fascinating. Even though they kept calling her by "kitty," she did not mind. They were friendly to her and that was all that really mattered.
She remembered other Deathclanners tell her that it was not a good idea to have done what she did, but hey, she was too curious, not to mention that she found her half-siblings while being away for so long! The silver tabby sighed, unsure as to why the camp felt emptier than usual. There was a fight going on somewhere, wasn't there?
Without waiting for a welcoming back to the clan, Root marked the territory. She was loyal to Deathclan, as much as how her pelt was itching with anticipation to go back out and explore. No, she had to find out what happened when she was gone for so long. Did she even remember anyone? There was that old cat, and a few others who showed her around. Maybe they were still here?
But a twig snapped, and the youngling sprang to her feet, fur bristled only to settle down after seeing that it was just a mouse. Wait. A mouse. The tabby didn't realize how hungry she was until she started her hunt to catch the rodent.

((Sooo I can't even remember if Nat ever met Root. So I'm going to say if they ever did... She forgot that it ever happened.
Natalia's favorite past time was lurking in the trees. She spent most of her time hiding amongst the branches, and not every cat was as good as climbing as she was. She was fairly sure the consensus of many cats was that cats belonged on land. Not in the trees like prey, or in the water like fish.
Oh well. She liked the height advantage and watching cats freak out about being followed, and having some trouble locating their stalker. Heh.
Today, she was... Pretty much doing more of the same. Deathclan had been directionless for a while now, and she didn't mind. She had no interest in leadership, and it wasn't going to kill them to remain leaderless. However, if she ever saw Pain again, she was slightly tempted to kill him.
She peered down noticed a... Familiar figure that reminded her of a shrunken Dove kind of. For some reason. Who knows why? She decided to call down to them.
"Hey, kid."

Root did not notice the stranger up in the trees because she was too focused on her recent kill. Prodding it with her paw, she made sure that the lifeless mouse was in fact, dead. And it was. Purring, the tabby tossed it in the air, playing with it like a toy before actually deciding to munch on it. Tasty.
'Hey kid.' Root was confused as to who was calling for her. No one was in her view - that was until she started looking around like a lost kitten into the dirt and skies. There she spotted the red much older looking cat who was above her.
"Woah! How'd you get up there?!" she called up, wondering if a hawk or something was preying on the stranger.
Without waiting for a response, the youngling clawed the trunk of the stranger's tree, attempting to shake it to no success. "Umm. Do you need help getting down?"

Natalia found it hilarious how the kid actually needed to check that her kill was dead. Like the soft noise of the rodent's neck snapping wasn't telltale enough. Or the flow of blood and its shredded corpse. She wasn't able to inspect it closely, however it was safe to assume the kid knew how to hunt. She hoped this kid wasn't so inept to make messy kills every time.
It was amusing as well, to see the kid look around wildly trying to locate where Natalia's voice was coming from, until she finally looked up and spotted her.
"Magic." She deadpanned before chuckling lightly. "Nah, I climbed." It was an odd skill to be sure, but she enjoyed having something that was her's. Well, those weird Treeclanners apparently did the same... So, she supposed it was her's amongst those who knew true independence.
"Nah. I'm good." She said, settling down on her branch, further entertained by the kid's prodding at her tree. "The name's Nat. You, kid?"

Root backed up from the tree, feeling stupid as ever. Oh, she climbed and she was okay. Okay then!
The tabby did not want to try to attempt climbing; she was terrified of heights for starters. But to be named Gnat? She did not understand. Deathclan surely gave their members the least of pleasant names, but Root kept that to herself.
As much as she would have preferred being called "kid" rather than "kitty," she did have a name. "It's Root! Umm, how long are you planning to stay up there? Because isn't what you're doing kind of weird?"

Natalia watched as the kid backed off from the tree. She still couldn't shake that weird feeling of familiarity... It was weird.
"Hm.... Root, huh? Got anyone... Rooting for you? Eh? Eh?" Natalia was a cruel she-cat, who felt no shame upon cursing a young soul with the worst pun imaginable. She wasn't exactly one to regret her actions, no matter how weird or cruel. Usually. She liked to think that.
"Hm... Weird? Nah, this is pretty normal for me. Not abnormal behavior at all. I'll probably stay up here until I don't feel like being in a tree."
((im sorry for the pun it just happened

don't worry about it; knowing me, I take way longer to respond xD
Root was not sure if Gnat was just trying to be funny, or if she was just trying to get on her nerves. She chose the first option. "No, not really, but that's okay because I just need myself cheering me on!" she called back. Root was alone for such a long time that she did not really know if she was really acquainted with anyone now? Where were her siblings anyways? Oh well.
"Oh, umm okay." She was confused as to why Gnat wanted to stay in the tree. It was not normal at all. Gnat was no bird. She was a cat! It was against the laws of nature. "I guess I'll take a nap until you do feel like not being in a tree," the tabby declared. She didn't want to be a bore, but she didn't want to keep her head up for so long.

Natalia grinned down at the innocent kid below. Perhaps little Root wasn't the pinnacle of sweetness and innocence... However, it seemed so far... She wasn't really as jaded or traumatized as many cats who chose to call Deathclan home: Such as Natalia herself. "Congrats on escaping having raging insecurities dominating your every thought and action." She chirped cheerfully, sounding rather uncharacteristic of her.
Natalia tilted her head. "You tired, kiddo?" She asked, in a calmer voice. She wondered how annoying it was for cats to have to crane their necks up. She contemplated the benefits and costs of coming down from the tree to talk to Root.

When Gnat congratulated her on conquering her insecurities, she did not take it lightly. In fact, she was terrified of being around here, but her mother called it home, so she took the time to try to get to know the place. It wasn't for her, but she'll stay for a few more moons most likely. Deathclan was home for now, and she was glad no one got too aggressive with her because in all honesty Root was not a fighter.
Root shrugged off that comment of Gnat's, scared that they might end of in a skirmish or something. And that was the last thing she wanted around here.
"Yeah, a bit actually," she said, eyeing the floor level now. She was perfectly fine with Gnat staying up there. Maybe she was watching over the land or something. She did not know, but the distance was perfectly fine. It wasn't like Gnat was Saffron or anything. "Before I actually doze off, how long have you been around Deathclan?"

Natalia shrugged. "Haven't counted the moons." She answered honestly. "Been here since I was a six moon old brat. That much I know." Honestly, she wasn't sure how old she was. She wasn't paying attention to the passing of the lunar cycle, so it anyone's guess how old she was.
That question tended to come up a lot, especially from younger kids who hadn't been around Deathclan long. "Most tend to ask this, so I might as well tell you. I came to Deathclan on a whim." She shrugged. She never really had a reason for joining Deathclan. Her ties to the ragtag group had loosened due to certain... Reasons... However, she still called it her home. Though, it wouldn't take much for her to leave and never return.
She wandered off to the plains and the canyon enough, anyways.
