::(Adela):: 'Darkness will taint all in the end, no matter how pure.' Addie yawned as she awoke. It was just about dawn and she had only laid down to rest in these plains because it was getting so late. She planned to continue through the area and find a home a bit further away than the field she was in now, though she had to admit, it would make for great living standards. There was plenty of prey and enough shelter in the stall grass not to be noticed if she wanted to hide. There were also, however, a bunch of other cats in the area, and she wanted a more secluded area. Upon coming across another cat she said, "Oh, hi, I'm Addie. I'm just passing through the area, so don't mind me. "

-AHH IM SO SORRY I COMPLETELY FORGOT TO RESPOND-
Cleo found herself feeling rather lonely these days. No matter how many cats she was able to meet, they were all the same; distant. No one wanted to make connections with anyone, which Cleo found rather odd.
Upon hearing a cat speak, Cleo smiled, though there was confusion in her gaze. She didn't recognize the name, or the smell of this cat, but something seemed to... click. "Hmm, I don't suppose we've met before? I'm Cleo."
-okay just to clear things up I'm assuming they don't recognize each other? And I forgot, does Adela have an accent too?-

::(Adela):: 'Darkness will taint all in the end, no matter how pure.' Addie recognized the cat a bit once she got a full view of her, the face coming back along with a sense of nostalgia. It looked a lot like her face did when she was younger. Not in the sense that the other cat looked like her, they shared similar feutures, but she wouldn't go as far as to say they physically looked at all like each other, but she did she a brand of innocence and naivity that she had once seen in herself. And her eyes looked very familiar. Upon hearing her voice, some childish part of her subconscious that held on to the hope that she may yet find her family said it was her sister. She didn't like that part of herself. She didn't like her sister. At least, not anymore. She had loved her sister once, cherished her memory, but her family had been all to ignorant and sheltered to what life was really like, and she had let go long ago. That was what she told herself at least. In truth, she didn't want her life to change. Sure, her current life was hard and she made enemies around every corner, but it was familiar. She understood it. She didn't want to have someone she was close to. She didn't understand friendship anymore, and was cynical in the way that she thought anyone who gained your trust was going to abuse it.
"No," she responded after a moment or two, blinking as she suppressed the side of her that thought this cat was her long lost sister, "No, I do not believe we have. I'd remember a face with such... naivity." It may have sounded rude for a cat that had just met someone, but she had never been good with meetings and figured saying what you wanted was better than suppressing opinions when the outcome was the same no matter what you said.
Tag(s):@//open Word Count:401 Notes: Well, and assume that Addie would have held on to one of the better stages in her life before everything went crazy, especially while she was younger, so I'm gonna have her vaugly recognize Cleo and maybe just not care at this point. And yes, she does have a French accent, though it's not so thick as I imagine Cleo's to be.

Cleo blinked, not taking her words as an insult. She moved closer to the feline, slowly and carefully. She stopped when their noises were a mouse length away, eyes curious. Cleo stared at every feature intensely, finding herself lost in her memories. "...I swear I know you." Her voice was weak and quiet; broken, would be the best word to describe it. Cleo had tucked away every piece of her sister from her mind after she was abandoned, and they started coming back up when she saw the cat in front of her.

::(Adela):: 'Darkness will taint all in the end, no matter how pure.' Addie wasn't the best at close quarters unless she was fighting someone, so when Cleo came closer she took half a step back. At the statement she shook her head, examining the cat and being hit with another wave of nostalgia that she didn't show before saying, "No scars and with that look you've got? Nope, we've never met," she responded, but her words were much less certain than before.

Cleo stepped back slightly, her eyes still narrowed. "Do you know the name 'Adelane'?" Cleo quizzed her, eyes scanning over every inch of her. Could it really be possible? It was clear that they had similar physical features, and that they were of the same breed. She even had a French accent, although it was certainly lighter than hers.

::(Adela):: 'Darkness will taint all in the end, no matter how pure.' Addie thought for a moment before responding. "I knew Adelane," she said, pursing her lips, "But I'm not her. At least, not anymore." she added with complete confidence. It was true to her. Adela and Adelane were two very different cats. And Adela had never met Cleo.

Cleo, in her excitement, only ears what she wanted to hear. She found her sister. Cleo lunged with a squeal of delight, aiming to tackle her sister in a hug of sorts. "You're back! It's really you!"

::(Adela):: 'Darkness will taint all in the end, no matter how pure.' Adela took another step back when Cleo moved in for a hug. She had never lost a step and a half in a fight, and yet in one minute she had lost that in a conversation. It sort of bothered her. "I'm not back. I'm here, but I've never been here before so I can't be 'back' here." she responded in a rather harsh tone, still a bit on edge about the fact that her sister, her somehow still innocent sister, was there.

Cleo stepped back, hurt that her sister wasn't happy to see her. "Adelane... I don't think I understand." She whispered, the excitement leaving her, instead being replaced with dread. She had always hoped that her and her sister would be reuinited. It hurt that the feeling wasn't mutual.

::(Adela):: 'Darkness will taint all in the end, no matter how pure.' "It's just Adela now," she snapped, internally wincing. Cold and emotionless as she tried to seem, she felt it tenfold every time she hurt someone else. This one time she responded to it over the side of her that usually reigned as she said, "I'm sorry. You don't deserve this. I have a feeling you wouldn't even begin to understand my emotions if I did share them though."

Cleo had never felt more confused. Why was 'Adela' so different? Cleo really hadn't changed much at all from when they last spoke, yet Adela seemed like an entirely new cat. She wasn't exactly sure what to do...
"I missed you, Adela. A lot. Where did you go?" She questioned softly.

::(Adela):: 'Darkness will taint all in the end, no matter how pure.' Adela shook her head. "I didn't go anywhere. I was taken." she responded shuddering slightly at one of the memories which commonly haunted her nightmares. "I was so naive and trusting then, you really think J had the mind to leave of my own accord?" she added, her tone joking.

Cleo was incredibly shocked. It had never occurred to her that she could have been taken. "I'm so sorry..." Cleo felt a huge guilt drop onto her shoulders, and her mind raced. They should have gone looking for her! They all thought she had simply left, and knew that she would come back when she was ready. They were so stupid! "It's all my fault we didn't find each other sooner." She muttered, anger behind her words.

::(Adela):: 'Darkness will taint all in the end, no matter how pure.' Adela rolled her eyes."You're kidding, right?" she asked, disbelivingly. "It is in no way your fault. The fact that you didn't look is a good thing, they took me to far away, you would have never found me. It would have been a waste of energy. If I've learned anything it's what battles to end before they start, and that was one of them. It's not your fault." she said, mentally shaking her head. She really still had the urge to protect her sister? She didn't even really know the cat. But she had the urge so she might as well... "How good are your fighting skills?" she asked.
